The introduction of VAR has actually seen much of the subjectivity removed from DOGSO decisions as the review allows the direction of play at the time of the offence to be quite easily determined. The foul wasn’t given against Kiwior for the header, it was against Havertz for elbowing Konate while simultaneously handballing, the referee clearly whistled after this foul and not the Kiwior header.
