Wouldn't worry about that.

Wish we were in the League Cup groups..
Not
Nice graphic. :aok:
Next question(s) - are we seeded for these, and what is the standard of potential opponent for each?
At a complete guess; seeded for the first game against relatively beatable teams, then unseeded going forward and our most probable route would be W-L-L and out.
So just to clear up, do we still have to play a qualifier before going into the Europa? And if we get beat in that we go into the Conference? Just trying to work it all out. Obviously that's assuming Celtic see off Aberdeen in the SC.
It’s making me laugh the frequency these questions are being asked.
Can a message be pinned to a thread, maybe change the title to reflect the routes.
If celtic win we go into the EL playoff. If we progress we are in the EL groups. If we don’t we are in the ECL groups.
If sheep win we have three EL two legged ties to win. If we win them we are in the EL groups. If we lose any of they ties, we go into the next round of two legged ties in the ECL where we can either be put out at any stage or make it into the groups.
So if we lose our initial EL tie we would have two ECL two legged ties to negotiate before reaching the groups.
Etc.
Celtic winning the cup is worth £5m extra revenue and about £4m profit. Guaranteed 4 ties in Europe so 4 away trips.
Absolutely massive. Football is a funny game so let hope for no surprises.
you only need 1 goal to win
since 1975 Aberdeen have won 2 finals against Celtic while Celtic have won just 1 against Aberdeen however the 2 Aberdeen wins were in 80's and 1 went to extra time and 1 to penalties
Aberdeen and rangers are the only 2 teams to beat Celtic in a final since 1961 when Dunfermline beat them
On a positive note celtic have won thier last 10 finals last time they lost was 2002 to rangers
2 lost in one season was league cup and scottish cup im only talking about scottish cup
1990 win i counted as it was 89/90 season

Few teams beat Celtic in the May, Hampden sunshine. Let's hope it more of the same, and we can all look forward to a Euro adventure.
Not against Celtic you don’t.
They haven’t failed to score at Hampden in the last 13 years, which was also the last time they lost a domestic cup final.
They haven’t lost a Scottish cup final since 2002 (or 1990 disregarding Old firms finals)
Between Celtic’s dominance and Aberdeen not being very good since November, I think this will go to plan.
Come the end of the domestic campaigns only 5 of the 24 teams in the Europa League Qualifying round will be known in advance of next season.
Two already are -
Racing Genk (Belgium)
Sigma Olomouc (Czech)
and the other 3 from -
Aberdeen or Hibernian (Scotland) tbc 24th May
FC Biel Bienne or FC Basel (Switzerland) tbc 1st June
Besiktas JK or Samsunspor (Turkey)* tbc 1st June
* Technically also Istanbul Başakşehir FC, but they would need a miracle to leapfrog the two named above and finish 3rd in the Turkish league and claim the Europa league qualifying position.
:nerd: Insomnia
Also think the winner of the FA cup has implications for who we face.
If Palace win the cup, 8th in the Premiership get European conference league football (currently Brentford), if City win the cup 7th place get European conference league football (currently Nottingham Forest).
I may have that the wrong way around but I can’t be bothered finding the tweet,

New Conference league projected groups are out.
Strasbourg away would appear to be a decent away trip.
From @footrankings on twitter last night
Celtic are ON THE BRINK of moving to the seeded side of the Champions League Play-offs!
📈 🇭🇷 Rijeka are just ONE WIN away from winning the title in Croatia, which would move Celtic to seeded side!
Shame Rijeka are currently 1-0 down putting them back in second as things stand 😂😂
If we get to the Conference League phase, Pot 6 is interesting.
if drawn away would prefer to avoid Copenhagen (Brondby) as we have been there recently, however this may be the best shot. The other pot 6 sides will be very difficult journeys to get to. (Kazakhstan/Georgia/Armenia). If you throw in another geographically/politically difficult away trip (Podgorica or Tiraspol) from another pot, it's possible we may only have one 'jolly boys trip' in the league phase.
Might be best to get the pot 6 side at home. Due to the away journey and with it being the lowest ranked pot, we are more likely to get points on the board.
The Yam however, dropped points at home to some pot 6 Moldovan minnow.:greengrin
I remember the home game.
Strasbourg were a bit of a 'gang' and top of the French league at the time, which they went on to win. They were very lucky to keep 11 men on the park, but knocked us out 2-1 on aggregate.
Would be nice to right this wrong some nearly 50 years later.
I don't expect Hibs to do anything in Europe realistically, and I almost don't care either, I'm just delighted that we've got trips to look forward to and, like everyone, I'm hoping for straightforward journeys.
Bring it on!
Why not? Hearts should have qualified from the group phase but failed to beat the bottom team, Petrocub, at Tynecastle. The team that pipped them had 7 point from 6 games with a -3 gial difference. 24 teams out of 36 go through to the knockout phase. Not unrealistic to think we could get through (assuming Celtic win the cup).

“ There will be UEFA competition football in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean next season!
Promoted Santa Clara from the Azores islands, which are 1,500km from Lisbon, have finished fifth in the Primeira Liga and will now go into the UEFA Conference League qualifying rounds!”
Would be an interesting away day.
Had a Quick Look on sky scanner and looks like a hell of a place to get to.

Some of the seeded Europa league teams, not many good or glamorous fixtures there by the looks of it.
Getting ahead of the game here, will be in Tenerife for the first leg of our first tie…all recommendations of where to watch in Las Americas welcomed.
If we beat a seeded team in the Europa 2nd round qualifier do we take their seeding in the next round?
You take their coefficient not seeding, but it might not be enough to stay seeded in the next round as higher ranked teams inevitably fall into that round from Champions League qualifiers.
Braga's is high enough to ensure we are seeded in Q3 but the rest will depend on who wins their ties in Europa Q1 & Q2 and who loses in UCL Q2.
If you beat a team with a higher coefficient, you carry forward their coefficient to the next round. While their coefficient may have made them a seed in the earlier round, it won't necessarily be high enough to make them a seed in the later round. That's why it's not yet possible to say exactly which clubs we could beat to be seeded in Q3.
(This only applies when the later round is drawn before the earlier round has been played. I.e., Q3 is drawn before they know who'll go through from Q2, so they assume the seeded teams will win and use their coefficients for the Q3 draw.)
For the first few rounds the draws are actually made for the next round before you actually play your initial tie.
So for example we enter the Europa League qualifying round 2. The first leg tie is played on 24 July. But the draw for the qualifying round 3 takes place on 21 July, before we even play the first leg tie of qualifying round 2.
The draw for qualifying round 2 takes place on 18 June. Say we draw Braga. So in the draw for the 3rd qualifying round it will be Braga/Hibs v whoever. If we beat Braga (highly unlikely, we don't want them) we will assume the seed. As Braga were the seed (now us) our opponent will be an unseeded side as well, because at the time of the draw Braga were a seed. But tbh it's doesn't make any difference as we will already know our 3rd qualifying opponent.
As far as I know even if we beat Braga it will not improve our co-efficient score. I think these don't come into effect until the following season.
I think this is right but please correct me.
This is correct
This is partially correct – as in the couple of posts above, you don't automatically become a seed by beating a seed. You effectively assume their coefficient for the next round (because of the timing of the draws as you describe), but you're only seeded if that 'borrowed' coefficient is high enough for seeding in the subsequent round. In the case of Braga it definitely would be, but with some of the other Q2 seeds it won't be. Depends on the coefficients of the other teams joining in Q3.
The difference it makes is that our Q3 opponent is likely to be significantly weaker if we've ended up seeded by beating a team with a high enough coefficient. Our best draw might be the weakest team with a high enough coefficient for Q3 seeding.
This is correct, our actual coefficient can't change until next season. The temporary 'borrowing' of another team's coefficient is down to the uncertainty at the time of the qualifying round draws and doesn't change our actual coefficient.
I'm not sure how any of it works, one thing you are bang on about is that we don't want Braga
Think the best we'll get will be a couple of ties. One against a "glamour" team maybe before getting papped out. Just being realistic.
I'd actually be pretty happy to get them, Portugal would likely be a great trip and then even if they put us out I think that could be a blessing in disguise.
If we lose Europa Q2, there are a bunch of seeded teams in conference Q3 who I think are beatable, but who's coefficient is high enough for us to then be seeded in the conference play off.
Shamrock Rovers, Omonia Nicosia, Macabi Haifa would all have us definitely seeded for the play off draw, and teams like Jagiellonia Bialystok, NK Celje, Borac Banja Luka likely also would (but this isn't confirmed yet).
All of those ties would be tough but are 100% winnable.
Think this is our only feasible route of making the groups, unless we were to cause a massive upset somewhere and put out a really big team.
Hibernians FC from Malta are in Conference Qualifying..... Make it happen 🇳🇬
Indeed.
I reckon our best hope is to get favourable draws in the Europa League qualifying rounds 2 and 3, win them and get to the play-off phase. There does seem to be a couple of scenarios in these qualifying rounds where we could be drawn against teams we would have more than a decent chance. Even if we lose at the Europa League play-off stage we fall into the Europa Conference League with 6 league games up to Christmas.
If we lose at any of the Europa League qualifying rounds we fall into the Europa Conference League and would have to negotiate at some point the play-off which we have to win to progess. We are bound to hit a big side at this point and likely to be punted. It was Villa a couple of years ago.
Are we definitely at home July 24 given our unseededness
Win EL-Q2 and we get our opponent's coefficient in EL-Q3 (our opponent, btw, gets our coefficient in ECL-Q3, sorry Braga :greengrin).
If we lose EL-Q2 but win ECL-Q3, we would again inherit our ECL-Q3 opponent's coefficient for ECL-PO.
So, in a nutshell, it's most likely we have 2 attempts to win against a big team and if we follow that with a win against a smaller team, we're in the groups.
(Caveat we could beat a biggish team with not a big enough coefficient for a seeding and then have to play an even bigger team. So expect that I guess.)
See last sentence below
Seeding
A total of 16 teams will play in the first qualifying round. Seeding of the teams will be based on their 2025 UEFA club coefficients.[10] Before the draw, UEFA may form groups of seeded and unseeded teams per the principles set by the Club Competitions Committee. The first team drawn in each tie will be the home team for the first leg.
Think the best option is winning the first two rounds. That means you lose the Europa Playoff and are guaranteed Conference League group football.
Lose the first then you need to win the next two, including the Conference League playoff game. Some serious teams enter that stage, like Villa last time we made it there.
Either way it’s going to be a big ask
Worth it for that mental stadium in a quarry. Always fancied going there since Euro 2004.
From a progressions sake, want to avoid them like the plague.
Another question. Being unseeded does that mean we are home first and away last or is it luck of the draw? I’m about for the first leg but on holiday for the second leg.

It has maybe been added somewhere on this thread already, but I had just put together some dates for your diaries for all the European games for the Hibs teams for the upcoming season, so I thought I would share them here –
Hibernian FC First team – Hibs enter the UEFA Europa League, at 2rd round. This is the 55th edition Season 2025-26 (Scotland are ranked 14th)

League phase Match Day 1 24/25th September through to Match Day 8 29th Jan.
Should we lose out in the Europa League we drop down to the Conference League Qualifying League 3rd round where we would again be unseeded (Scotland ranked 11th) the draw is made on the 4th of Aug. Games played 7th and 14th Aug, Play-offs 21st and 28th Aug.
Hibernian FC Women – Play in the 2025–26 UEFA Women's Champions League 25th edition. Scotland are ranked 16th.

The round of 32 play on the 3/4th Feb 2026.
The round of 16 play on the 24/25th Feb (Draw for round of 16 onwards is the 6th Feb)
If anyone spots any mistakes in the above, please feel free to comment with correctiosn.
An an ideal world, yeah - but I think we're a lot less likely to qualify that way.
Can't see us beating many of the seeded teams in Q2 Europa, and the ones we would have more chance of beating (Sheriff, Partizan, Cluj) likely wouldn't have us also then seeded for Q3.
If we lose Europa Q2, then there's a few teams in conference Q3 I think we could beat that would then have us seeded for the play off - so we'd avoid your Villas (nottingham forrest this year) Fiorentinas etc.
Mind when it was all just about a load of balls being chucked in a bucket, drawn out randomly and folk playing until they won the trophy or lost beforehand? I've not got a clue what's going on, so I'm just going to follow an approach of Hibs win -good, Hibs defeat - bad, then repeat that if somehow we're allowed another game after a loss.
And thank god we're not in the Evolution Cup. I'm not sure a team receiving the trophy can be certain it's not just for being given an east area seeding in the September Round.
Yeah.
UEFA have taken most of the jeopardy out of these draws, particularly in the early rounds. It's likely we will be in group with a few others, then at the press of a button the draw appears.
Don't even get the tension of waiting on our prestigious, pioneering club being drawn out of a hat/globe for a European tie.
This article seems to suggest we could make the groups without winning any of the playoff games
