Mueller is the winger.

I’d say one established centre half for competition even a second in the same mould as McGinn, right back, centre half.
Another central midfielder for competition
Centre forward or two.
Out:
Hallberg
Mackie
Gullan potentially
Gogic potentially
New contracts
Allan
Porteous
Nisbet
We are complaining about losing goals from crosses at the same time as claiming McCart isn’t good enough. Strange times.
I’m a bit surprised about the lack of interest in McCart by some of our fans.
Every time we were close to scoring it seemed like he was the one I get a block, tackle or header in to prevent a goal.
Block on Gullan in first half
Header then block and foul won start of second half when it fell to Nisbet
Clearance when ball fell to Hanlon in box
Won foul to prevent Nisbet’s second disallowed goal
To name but a few. Yes it looked like Nisbet was onside for the first goal but I’m sure St Johnstone fans watching that will say Hanlon sclaffed the ball out which lead to the corner which then Porteous scored an own goal from 😬😂
I’m not saying he’s 100% better than Hanlon and McGinn. But this is only his second season in the top flight and at 24 has lots of room to improve.
Also think he’s very comfortable on the ball for a defender.
Could do far far worse than getting him in for free and providing competition. I think he’s one fans will appreciate more when he’s playing for your team.
Are we actually going back in for McCart or have we given up?
To me McCart plays in a reinforced defence in a team set up to play defensively.Maybe unfair but I see nothing in his game to suggest he would fit into our style which relies on defenders being comfortable on the ball in bringing it out of defence.
I’d be slightly concerned if McCart is mobile enough/good enough to play in a back 4 . No issues if he’s part of a back 5 as looks steady enough
His loan move to ICT was outside of our window and only to get him games following his recovery. He had been out ill for months. Last half dozen games or something he went to Inverness?.
He’s bound to want games of course as he clearly loves playing football but if he’s not going to
play every week anywhere he’d be as well not doing it where he is so highly thought of.
Bevis Mugabi solid no effin about type
It'll be a great day when the fans stop trying to link us with St Johnstone defenders.
Other defenders are available
Campbell signs contract to 2025.
Jack says some players will be leaving us in January to ‘balance the squad’ (source: EEN).
So who’s out the door then?
Dunfermline are interested in Gullan according to my Pars mate. I dont presume Hibs will stand in his way with Muellar coming in.
Wonder if we'll go back in for McGrath at St Mirren?
Along with Raith, Killie and at least 2 English teams. I think we'll look for a nominal fee with a % of any future sale. It's strange how football works, 21 months ago I saw our Development team take apart a decent Brentford team. Oli Shaw scored both our goals, Jamie G was IMO, our best player by a mile. Meanwhile Josh Campbell, despite having a great attitude, was, again IMO, one of our poorer performers.
I know he’s not the best player or the answer to a starting slot, but I think we’ve really missed Hallberg.
He’s big, physical, mobile and looks after the ball really well. He’s a very good option to rotate the squad with or bring on.
I expect Gullan to go.
Nisbet and Allan aren't going in January. Zero chance.
I wouldn’t put it down as Allan almost left, he was almost sold by the club, but I don’t for one minute think he wanted to leave…. And that whole debacle is the kick up the arse he needed to start training harder and break into the team, which he did… I don’t see him leaving this window.
If we can do a deal for mcgrath or similar I'd expect Scott to go
Think what might depend on Mcgennis too

I can imaging Allan will be getting frustrated with his game time, whether he leaves this window or at the end of his contract is another matter. As has been said, Ross just seems to want to play him as an impact sub with the odd few minutes here and there, it all depends where Scotty sees himself playing, he may have to drop to a lesser team to get the game time he wants.
Gullan had a deal in place with Killie to leave in the summer but because we ended up not getting anyone in we had to stop the move. Apparently Gullan was pretty disappointed as understandably wants to play. Not sure if that deal is still on the table
I will be very surprised if there are no enquires about Martin Boyle in the January window.
27 days until window opens and I don't think I've heard or seen us linked with anyone, hopefully keeping it under wraps I'm sure we have deals in place already surely.
I expect Allan, Gullan and Hallberg to go. And drey if he can get a move. 2 more in on top of the 2 already signed. Striker and a CB.
That’s because he’s not anything more than a good member of the squad now. He could start a game every now and then but he’s best utilised off the bench. I think whether or not he’s here next season will be down to how he feels about that and if he wants to drop to a bottom 6 side to try for more game time
Martin Boyle hat trick would have highlighted him to other teams
Allan sat at Celtic doing bugger all for years, I don't think he'll be raging about being a good squad player for Hibs.
I was told by an agent of Jambo loyalty that Allan and Porteous are signing new contracts?
I see the cup final unsettle Hibs players transfer stories have started already.

It’s not just the papers at it. Celtic fan I know seems to think Celtic will bid between 1.5- 2 mill for Boyle, ( wait for it ) as they want to get fans in Australia buying their strips.
If that’s why they’re after Boyle and not for his footballing ability, games goosed.
