Apparently Boris Johnson will have the final say on whether Boris Johnson has done anything wrong!! I suspect I know what the verdict will be.
It's truly astonishing. Unionists were calling Scotland a one party state recently. But when our FM was accused of wrongdoing she was in front of a committee for 8 hours giving evidence. She also was subject to an independent review from a legal expert from Ireland. In England ****ing Johnson seems to be the sole arbiter of what is right and wrong. Which one looks like a one party state? Westminster is corrupt and the sooner we are out of it the better
Its essentially a gang who all have enough dirt on each other so no one's going to lose their job anytime soon, the arbiter of what is right and wrong is as compromised as the rest and it's not as if the history, morals and character of the individuals involved were unknown.
Democracy gave them the majority to do what they like, including closing down democracy when it doesn't suit.

It all depends what Cummings wants. He knows where the bodies are buried. If he wants to bring Johnson down then Johnson will fall and take a few with him. If he wants finacial gain or influence, then he'll have finacial gain and influence. If anything, Gove will be more of a Cummings puppet than Johnson.
Agreed, I dont think it's any more complicated than Cummings goes back a way with Gove, he holds a lot of cards and will play just enough to undermine Bozo to the point he'll have to jump or push back.
There will be dirt on Cummings too and we are talking about the Nasty party here so it could just be case of sitting back watching whilst the unspeakable pursues the inedible, to paraphrase.

Johnson is toast. They will move against him after these elections.

I wonder what Douglas Ross is saying about potential breaches of ministerial code....
Strangely quiet on this one

The best thing about this whole story is it reveals the truth that Class really matters. Even though we are constantly told it doesn’t.
Lots of voters, and almost all Tory voters, are middle class or define themselves as middle class. Most middle and lower middle class voters aspire to having John Lewis furniture in their house, because that’s what upper middle class people have in their houses. The fact that Boris and the rest of them consider John Lewis furniture as beneath them, like living ‘in with stuff that came out of a skip, shouldn’t be surprising, because they are Upper Class. An upper class person would rather have an old piece of furniture with holes in it than John Lewis furniture. And all this is important because it breaks the fantasy that Boris is ‘One of Us’, to a particular breed of mostly English voters. He just isn’t. He’s in the top 0.25% or thereabouts.
Classic. Personalise the story. Make it about an ‘extravagant wife’. Give a wee kick to the ex wife fleecing him for extra misogyny points. Encourage your reader to empathise with Boris, even as he gets taken down. ‘My wife’s the same, she always spends too much’. Don’t ask the big questions.
I ****ing hate the Daily Mail.

One of his girlfriends.
Surprised he's not had the fragrant Jennifer bumped off yet.
In reality the Arcuri stories show that he's pretty shameless so is more likely to just brass this latest distraction out. Better than talking about snouts in troughs and avoidable Covid deaths on his watch.

An astonishing post on the readers comments underneath:
[QUOTE] Here's the problem. Boris is rich, but he's not Trump rich. Trump could afford to marry a high-maintenance model young enough to be his daughter. Melanie could use hundred dollar bills to wipe her bum, and Trump wouldn't notice the difference in his bank balance. But when you're just regular rich, and you have two ex-wives and at least six children (who of course all have to go to expensive private schools), you have to choose a slightly less profligate girlfriend - one who maybe just uses ten dollar bills to wipe her bum.[\QUOTE]
EXCLUSIVE: 4 more VIP-lane companies revealed - Good Law Project
Good Law Project is today able to reveal the names of four more companies awarded contracts through the VIP lane: Clandeboye Agencies, P14 Medical, Luxe Lifestyle and Meller Designs.
- P14 Medical, run by a Tory councillor and donor, was awarded £276m in PPE contracts.
- Meller Designs, run by David Meller a large Tory donor and trustee of the rightwing lobby group Policy Exchange, was given more than £160m in PPE contracts.
- Luxe Lifestyle was awarded a £26m contract despite appearing to be insolvent and without any employees.
- And Clandeboye Agencies whose registered trade on Companies House is “wholesale of sugar, chocolate and sugar confectionery” was awarded £108m in PPE contracts (see page 73 and following). We should say that the Government says Clandeboye was not in the VIP lane – but its own internal documents tell a different story.
Surely to be eligible to be PM you have to be financially stable? If BJ’s are in such a mess then what else is getting slipped in to his pocket for a favour here and there?
Not tories but there chums the dup about to make a crackpot ******** religious nutter their leader. Some of his best bits, wonder how old the giants causeway will be on their website

Because his bawbaggery comes from following the words of a 2000 year old heavily redacted book. Also taking it literally believing the world is 4000 years old and gay people in love is abhorrent. Its dangerous his religious views can get legitimacy and influence by being part in control of a country. His horrible views didn't come from watching eastenders it came from the church he follows. If he was Islamic or amish I'd think the same
And just to add him being a bam is obviously nothing to do with the 99% of religious people that aren't nut jobs. Just thought it interesting one of the major parties in the UK ,are set to be lead by someone like that

Tories are untouchable in England. We only have one way out of this.

I'm thinking the same way, but the polls don't tell the whole story, I know many tory voters, the older and greedier ones are unlikely to change but theres a few, what i would call softer, tory voters who are less happy with Bozo and particularly Brexit than they were months ago.
Again it's probably another tory characteristic that's driving this, self interest, but amongst this group, say floating voters, the switchers who did it for Brexit and younger folk I'd say there's a shift in what they say.
I doubt the current version of labour can exploit that right now.

I'm having difficulty understanding how easy it seems to be for (mostly English voters) to switch between voting Tory or Labour. In my day it wouldn't happen.
We hear all the time people saying Labour aren't a credible opposition. So why does that mean you vote Tory???? What about Liberal? Green? Spoilt paper?
I've never been one to claim pride over much. We're all just people trying to make our way through life. However, I'm going to my grave PROUD to have never voted Tory.

:agree: the good lady should have a look at his voting record at Westminster for plenty more material, she could also ask Baroness Davidson what she thinks of Murray's thoughts on Gay marriage
That had me thinking I hadn't seen much of the two of them together. You'd have thought with Ruth the mooths craving for a photo opportunity and easing the new boy in there would lots.
A simple Google image search only threw up a couple. And while Dross regularly looks as stiff as a corpse one of these looked like it was a cardboard cut out!
You might have thought the opposition might have noticed this too and made a mischief.
Tory donor 'asked to fund nanny for Boris Johnson's baby' as PM 'needs £300k to get by' (msn.com)
A Tory donor was asked to fund a nanny for Boris Johnson's baby because the Prime Minister can't survive on his £157,372-a-year salary, bombshell reports say today.
The 'cash for curtains' saga has deepened after the claims in the Sunday Times - which reported the twice-divorced PM needs £300,000 a year to survive his high living costs.

He shouldn't be in charge of his own wallet never mind the countrys. As pointed out in the twitter thread a politician, from any party, struggling for cash is a security risk and open to leverage. All his financial dealings require a deeper scrutiny given he's more or less standing outside No10 with the begging bowl out.
Saying that the Torys have openly sold their leverage to the Russians for about a decade now.

pay attention Labour voters in this country, you're possibly going to get one last chance to stop this happening in Scotland, don't wait until yer paying for appointments at the Docs, or hospital visits, or prescriptions :agree:
Not exactly hot of the press but another layer of potential corruption.
