Blackie will not be coming anywhere near us. He is open to the idea of going down south again. Derek McInnes spoke with him. Source - Black
As far as Swanson goes, he has had Alex Rae on the phone but that's as much as I know so very much doubts he will be coming to us.
Well if Broosters saying it, i believe him. Welcome to the club Paul, all the best.
Delighted if true! Paul Cairney is a fantastic player according to my Thistle supporting mate. Too good for them to quote.
Unfortunately, this deal almost rules out the possibility of Deano returning, unless Fenlon is really going for it.
Great signing nonetheless
What type of player is Cairney?
Good, all for us going for prospects from the SFL, a policy that our rivals have made great use of in recent years :agree:
:hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper: I'm getting excited for next season already :hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper:
Good news about Cairney if true, and i broosters saying it I have no reason to doubt.
This might sound back asswards but I AM excited for next season. Why? Because I feel sure that much of the dead wood from last season won't be here next season. Of course there is no guarantee that the replacements will be any better than what we had (could they be worse? another question we ask every window) but if we're starting with a fresh team then I believe they deserve our full support and the benefit of the doubt.
Don't mind that Hibs have gone down a division to get a player, and I'm happy that Fenlon signed something that we've clearly been missing (an attacking midfielder) but will probably take more than a player from Partick to whet the appetite for the new season, it's fair to say.
Anyway, welcome to Hibs, Paul.
Did Partick not finish 6th or 7th? Or is that irrelevant?
What's more, according to Thistle messageboard sources (yeah, I know ) we have outbid Aberdeen and St Johnstone to get him.
Chick Young.... font of all knowledge. just another lucky talentless pundit. Prob having dins with " Alistair" tonight. :flag:
I'd rather sign young ambitious Scottish players from lower leagues than English based journeymen who don't care and want to get back down south. So this is a good start.
What about craig gordon as hes a free agent?
Depends how limited his options get, suspect he saw himself at Celtic, but apparently they are signing Forster on a permanent basis. Suppose if no English clubs take an interest in him it could be conceivable, but given his Yammish tendencies I can't imagine him wanting to come to us.
And voila.....that was good timing that post ;-)
What are we down to, about 14 or 15 players on the books now?
Antell
Grant
Smith
Stephens
Spoon
Hanlon
Kujabi
Stevenson
Cairney
Caldwell
Doyle
Osbourne
Stanton
Monaghan
Aye, he's worth a shout as well.
I think both Jordan and Daniel may go back to BR for the first part of the season on loan however.
Not sure if you can play in the under 20s league and the third division at the same time however.
I suppose 3rd division will toughen laddies up quicker.
So have we signed him then?
heard scott shearer goalkeeper might be of interest
Suggestion not a rumour!
Heskey has been released by villa, could he do a job?
What ya gonna doooo, Heskeys comin to get yaaaaa
Jordan Forster is a no nonsense central defender. Danny Handling a striker......Handling reminds me of Kenny Miller. Great eye for goal, all kinds of goals. Very slight, but fantastic workrate. Stanton and Harris are creative midfielders, but again, slight in build. Technically very good players but would need experience and braun next to them to flourish.
Tim Clancy from Killie.
I watched Clancy closely when he was with Killie, when Mixu/Shiels pushed Hammill into midfield which accommodated Clancy in the right back slot. He was awful. I've also seen him at centre half and wasn't overly impressed.
I'd rather we sign Francomb if it's right back he's looking at, and use Jordan Forster for centre half cover if we sign McPake.
So yep, I'd be disappointed if we signed Clancy. And in my opinion, Lasley, Jennings, Ojaama and Humphreys were key to Well's success, especially Keith Lasley. Again, it's just my humble opinion.....if he signed and proved me wrong, I'll come on and eat humble pie mate.
looks like the Clancy one is a goer & hope to get McPake deal done.

I'm extremely impressed at the urgency to get these deals done. The transfer window isn't even open yet and we are already looking to tie down multiple players that are proven at SPL level. This is very promising.
As a side note, when was the last time Hibs actually signed a player from another SPL club? This may turn out to be a lot more recent than I thought and I may end up looking a bit foolish but I can't remember the last one?
Cregg and McBride would be the last?
bottom line mccall wanted to keep clancy, he cant be that bad, its not as if he was released!
but then again only time will tell if he signs for us which he probably will......get right behind him!
Quote in the express about Hayes -
The Dons boss has already held talks with out of contract Inverness winger Johnny Hayes although he is more likely to go to Hibs. Brown, however, has finally closed the door on midfielder Kari Arnason returning to Aberdeen.
I'll be looking for a far more reliable source than the Daily Express to get me excited about signings.
Sorry if I've missed it but what position does clancy play?
A link on the same page says Hibs are trying hard to sign McPake who is currently on holiday.
Thank goodness we're getting off our backsides and not leaving everything to the last day of the window.
I suppose with so many players out of contract we can't afford to take a chance on what's left on the last day of the summer sales.
McCall seems to rate the lad Clancy highly and he's seen more of him than any of us and he seems to have an eye for a player.
That said I've got a habit of getting my hopes up about New signings and not seeing any bad in them and they usually turn out to be pish so might try a different tact this time round......
Sounds pish, no hibs class booooooooooooo
