I genuinely hope Whyte wins, I don't think he will but I'd love it, I have a love hate relationship with Fury, great boxer but the ***** that comes out his mouth does my nut in

I've grown to love tyson after being ambivalent. He obviously had a machismo upbringing in the traveller community but he's breaking alot of taboos and seems a genuinely nice guy. He got a lot of stick for saying traveller children should go to school as long as they can and get a good education.
But particularly I thought his bravery in talking about his mental health and suicide must have helped thousands. The best heavyweight in the world talking saying its OK to struggle was unheard of. Dylan whyte disappointed me big time when he said tyson was week and a cry baby for opening up.
I prefer stylish boxers also and to see a giant dance is always worth watching, compared to so many hug and punch heavyweights. The wilder trilogy will go down in history, it really breathed life into the sport that was struggling.
Dylan is a good fighter though and it takes one punch in the heavyweight division
If we’re going to excuse Tyson for some of his misdemeanours due to his upbringing then surely Dillian deserves the same leeway. Basically no education and brought up surrounded by Jamaican gang culture. Stabbed and shot several times as a kid, fathered his first child at 13 etc. both flawed characters with some dubious opinions on certain subject matters but I think they’re both good people at heart.
I'd excuse them on a lot of the daft things they've said when young as both had hard lives. But this was just last year Dylan was saying tyson was weak mentally and tyson should be keeping that stuff to himself. I just thought it was better to say nothing if he didn't agree, because it could put back some of the good things tyson talking about mental health could achieve.
I hear you and not disagreeing. Just playing Devil's Advocate I suppose. Both have said some inappropriate and ill-informed stuff over the years, both whilst adults. Tyson has made some pretty unsavoury comments about women, homosexuality, paedophilia etc as well as some anti-sematic rants. He seems to have finally grown up the last couple of years but I suspect that's down to being a bit more savvy rather than not holding the same opinions nowadays.
To be fair, most sports people are ***** generally I think. I certainly don't admire my sports people by their opinions as that would be grimm ha. I think tyson will have the majority of the fans there as he's pretty huge now. But most that like there boxing will respect both and be looking forward to this. Bookies heavily on tyson, but it should be closer than that
When is it likely to start? I might see if I can watch it somewhere.
Cheers chaps.
The physical shape and ability of some of the boxers on the undercard is absolutely shambolic. Warren always seems to get away with total mismatches without any credible discussion.
Shan atmosphere considering the amount of people allegedly there tonight, undercard hasn't really helped build it up though
Is it all running to time? I'm just about to head off and watch it.
aw man please just start the boxing
Ta
Tyson Fury for me, the man is a natural heavyweight boxer and there are very few of them around. He is a giant of a man.
Biggest crowd ever in Europe for a boxing match, Fury being paid £23M for this!
I'm not getting it so I guess I'll have to pass!
atmosphere is unbelievable ?
Goodnight, far too easy
Setting & build up were impressive...
I believe him when he says he’s done.
Reckon he would fight Joshua at Wembley if that was offered. He would easily beat Joshua though.
Deserves to go out on a high, can't help but like the guy, built differently to most of the muscle heavyweight division and uses his skill set well
If AJ wins the rematch v Usyk (unlikely I’d say) then there’s not a chance Fury is retiring.
Can see him retiring rather than taking on Usyk though.
Piece of piss for Fury there.
Hope Usyk beats AJ now. Think that's the only chance we have of a big unification fight.
Just watched the women's Super Middleweight unification fight, if Savannah Marshall moves up and fights the winner then she would empty them no problem at all
Watching the Taylor fight in MSG
Looks an amazing atmosphere at MSG
What a fight, I've got Taylor by 1 or a draw
Just watched the Taylor fight this morning.
What a brilliant fight. Think Katie just shaded it but had it went the other way I don't think you could really have complained.
Seems to be a suggestion they might do it all again at Croke Park. I'd be seriously tempted to travel for that if it comes to pass.
One of the last times there was a major boxing event in the ROI there was someone murdered and shootings at the weigh in due to a Kinahan drug war, that's why Taylor has never fought at home before but now MTK are no more and the DEA are on the case it might be safe to hold them again
Kell Brook announces he’s officially retired. Definitely a wise move but can’t help being a wee bit disappointed. Thought he could’ve fought on for a couple more big domestic scraps.
Glad they didn't scew Bivol there, can't believe the judges only had 2 rounds in it though
dunno if it's a repeat but i enjoyed that documentary on Ken Buchanan
all those years and i didn't realise what a dirty git Duran was
still, at least i got to watch Ken sparring at the Sparta Club a couple of times :take that:not worth
Josh vacates his WBA belt. He’s no longer undisputed.
Deontay Wilder returning, will probably be first in line to face the winner of Joshua/Usyk
Some knock out by gervonta davis last night, was a good fight as well
Absolute peach of a knock out by Joe Cordina to become World Champion
Inoue v Donaire about to start. Got it on my IPTV. Their last fight was a cracker.
Timed that perfect for my lunch break, hopefully another classic
The monster is one very scary wee dude
Wow
Some fighter that guy

Josh vacates the WBC belt. Looks like he’s gunning for Catterall before stepping up.
Taylor v Catterall 2 looking like 26th November at The Hydro.
Eubank Jr V Benn confirmed. Massive
Should be good, will be a good build up. Fury chisora on the other hand is the trilogy no one asked for.
Be interesting when we find out what the catch weight is, Eubank doesn't have an ounce of fat on him at 160 so coming down further than that won't be easy for him, i have no clue what to make of it all, Benn has been managed to perfection so far, right fights and fighters at the right time, so you don't really know how good he actually is, Will earn an absolute ****load from this fight and if he loses then there is a ready made excuse about moving up weights and daring to be great
I'm all aboard the hype train, Benn Eubank 1 is my first boxing memory when I really took notice
Just seen an interview with Ben’s trainer, fight apparently won’t go ahead if Eubank weighs in more than 158.5lbs!
After hours of web sites crashing, finally managed to bag 4 tickets for Benn v Eubank. 💪💪
Ken Buchanan statue unveiled in Leith Walk.
What are people fancying for Saturday. Massive for Joshua I think. Lose this and probable record breaking uk fight vs fury loses much of its appeal
Yeah 3 losses out of his last 5 fights doesn’t look great. I think he’d need to go and beat Whyte & Wilder to bring himself back up there.
I like AJ and have supported him since he went pro, but I’m struggling to see him win this. I think he’s become fairly timid since the Ruiz loss. Scared of being caught. I also am baffled as to how he thought he’d outbox Usyk in the first fight. That’s either bad coaching or pure stubbornness from him. He needs to walk Usyk down and get him into a scrap to have a chance of winning. Use his size and strength. Hopefully the new coach helps him get it right.

I think the fact Fury tried his best to avoid Usyk says a hell of a lot. I watched him come up and remember telling everyone when he fought AJ the first time he would make him look silly, I only see it happening that way again. He's superior to AJ in every way besides size and power.
If Usyk wins think we'll get the unification bout with Fury? If so really hope Usyk wins.
Only thing is fury is even bigger than aj. Also he can dance almost as much as usyk. Usyk wouldn't be able to stand off fury like he did with aj.
I think the size is Usyks biggest issue vs Fury. Fury is a good boxer for Heavyweight standards, but Usyk is levels ahead, I just don't know if that's enough given the massive size difference between them. Fury is pretty decent at using his size so it would be interesting to see if Usyk could get inside or if Fury would just keep him at range.
I can see ways for both of them to win, Usyk is by far the better boxer but AJ is no mug and is capable of knocking anyone out if he lands flush, I'd say I'm about 65/35 in favour of Usyk but I wouldn't be surprised and it wouldn't be an upset if AJ does it
As for AJ Fury if he loses, I don't think it loses any of the appeal, would still sell out Wembley 3 times over and do record PPV sales in the UK if it ever happened
It's just a shame that's the fight that will sell out Wembley. It wouldn't be competitive and there's so many better UK based boxers at the smaller weight classes with considerable amounts more skill than those two, add in without the baggage Fury brings.
Heavyweight boxing is a shadow of it's former self nowadays. Even the best in Fury, his resume is kinda meh. His best wins are Wallin, Wilder and Whyte. AJ best win is an ageing Klitschko, Ruiz and Whyte.
Usyk is cool because he's got a higher skill level than the test, but im not sure if he's big enough to make that count enough against other Heavyweights. If AJ plods forward again for 12 rounds he'll get worked.
I know, I mean in terms of him fighting Fury. Fury being that much taller and decent at using his size is where I have my worries. In terms of technical ability Usyk is the man at HW, but Fury is the next best and has a considerable height difference. If they were an inch or two apart id pick Usyk 99 times out of 100, but the size if Fury and him being a surprisingly good boxer for today's HW standards makes me think the fight will be a tricky one.
AJ doesn't tend to use his size or body well, he got away with out-fighting with no set ups vs Ruiz because Ruiz is a more limited fighter, Usyk has entries and the in-fighting ability that pretty much nobody else in the division has. He's got the skill of a little guy in a big guys body. If his coaches comments are anything to go buy, bet the house on Usyk. Last I seen his coach was talking about his heart and making it a fight, when in reality he needs to brush up on his footwork, his hand fighting and positioning and entries/exits into/out of the pocket. Usyk has him beat everywhere besides reach and power, Joshua needs to work the jab and use long shots to stop Usyk entering, nothing to do with his heart/wanting it more.
I will say, if it's not obvious I'm not bought on Fury being one of the HW greats. He's the best about right now, but the HW division is scarily weak in terms of depth currently so that doesn't say all that much.
Guys like Inoue, Donnaire etc all deserve 20x the promotion Fury AJ and Wilder get, but because of the "little guys are boring" stigma they don't get it. Find it hard to get excited about the current HW division when most fights are pretty obvious as to who wins/loses right now. Needs some fresh talent.
Good post and agree particularly on inoue an absolute master. I would argue that Fury would be one of the greats if he beat usyk. Yes it's been a weak field but you can only beat what's there. At 6'9 and with good movement I'm not sure which heavyweight from history beats him.
I agree, but because of him being a deplorable person ill never let my bias fully allow me to class him as a great lol. Won't even pretend it's because I have valid reasons, if he beats Usyk he's up there, I just can't stand the man for his homophobic, misogynistic and other mental things he's said.
Inoue is special. As special as it gets, to go toe-to-toe with an all time legend in Nonito, win ESPN fight of the year and then rematch him and demolish him, that's a rare level of talent. He ate Nonitos left hooks as if it was a joke, and that's probably the scariest left hook in boxing currently.
I know why he did it but Hearn has sold his soul here, dead
Usyk will win.
Should be a decent fight, looking forward to it.
Atmosphere is horrendous
i think AJ will win this one
