"Tren de Aragua is considered an invading foreign government because of its deep ties to the Maduro regime, which is also a close ally in our efforts to expel members of the Tren de Aragua terrorist organization."

In short, civil war. He'll make a play for an extended leadership with the aim to pass on power to the person of his choice. He has enough hard core right wing followers on his side to at least try and seize permanent power by force. It's his and his henchmen's only hope, if they allow a Democratic government to succeed them, then they're toast. Any new Democratic government won't mess around dishing out justice next time.
FWIW I agree.
I think there’ll be a tipping point where “enough is enough” for a significant chunk of people there.
It may be when the chance of another election comes and goes, it might be something else.
I actually suspect it might be much sooner. In a country with so many guns kicking about, I could see a clumsy grab at taking emergency powers at the first sign of unrest and a very swift escalation.
One thing I don’t expect is a peaceful “happily ever after”. It’s going to go belly up at some point.
After a very ugly and uncomfortable day of reckoning, I do expect for them to turn into something more familiar once more. If won’t be terminal.
Maybe. Or maybe his thug army react to some Supreme Court judgement against Trump, and seize control rather than there be a battle between two sides. I don't know that there's a counter force to turn it into a war. Not yet, at least.
It's also possible that Musk / Vance pull off a 25th amendment stunt on Trump. It wouldn't be an improvement, but nor would it be a war - unless the Maga Massive take offence on behalf of their boy. There's question marks about Trump's health, and he regularly has these cannula type bruises on his hand. The other day when he was boasting about 'winning' his own golf tournament, he said it might be his last. On the other hand, it could just be trolling.
It's (you never know) possible that a majority on the Supreme Court find that a line has been crossed, and either slow it all down or allow him to be indicted. Or Congress finds its backbone and impeaches him... And the military / FBI are true to the oaths and do what is neccessary to remove the regime.
The whole Musk thing needs serious attention. Yesterday - without permission, or even informing anyone - he had somebody up on the roof of the White House, installing Starlink. Not a conflict of interest at all. Or a security risk. The White House are saying that it is to deal with wifi blackspots in the building. This has been disputed.
True. Hadn't thought about that. Don't know what the constitutional ( :rotflmao:) safeguards against state involvement in the Federal government attack or defence would be. Or fighting each other. I suppose what I meant was that I couldn't see a counter-movement to Maga emerging.

Tesla execs dumping the stock.

I think civil unrest/violence verging on civil war is inevitable, the only question is what is the spark that lights the fire?
They’ve spent the last decade + dousing the country in petrol and liberally distributing matches.
My mrs is convinced that there will be a Tiananmen Square like incident where Trump orders the military/police to open fire on protesters and it’ll all go south from there.
I think it’ll either be that, or he over-reaches, gets pegged back by the legal system, his latent army take to the streets in protest and then it all kicks off from there, nobody knowing who is on who’s side.
The “spark” will be the minute somebody actively stands in his way when he finally goes too far for someone of importance and integrity to tolerate.
:tee hee:
I do actually feel kind of sorry for the people who bought them in the beforetimes, when they thought it was a (slightly flashier than necessary) commitment to cleaner fuel and the environment, and before Musk's ideology was out on display. Cybertruck owners...nah. No excuse.
Having never taken an interest in the stock market in my life, I'm glued to the US markets updates, and Tesla. Surprised it's taken this long for investors to object publicly to what he's done to their brand.
To be fair to Musk, he’s the only reason Tesla is valued as high as it is. Without his involvement it’s likely a $50 share. It might head there soon anyway though if their sales fall much lower. There are just better cars out there that are cheaper. And without the stigma.
My wee sister has one and I’ve enjoyed taking the piss at recent family get togethers. She won’t be buying another.
BYD have better cars cheaper.

You're right - he's the reason for their overvaluing, and also for their losing value. Fair play to your wee sister; i'm sure an ethical and enjoyable choice at the time, spoiled because the owner's got out of his depth / revealed himself or whatever. Like you say, there are other, better options. I hope she stays safe. :aok:
I see a Vancouver motor show have removed them after they didn't volunteer to drop out, because of safety concerns for attendees and exhibitors.
I hate him so much.

I'm so tired of Trump's face, his voice, his ridiculous words, his nutty cabinet members, his awful voters, his imploding country. This 24/7 rolling atrocity of a presidency that poisons the entire world.

oopsie, is this a different one ?
He said the same thing about the UK last year, while he was pouring petrol on the fire. I think, genuinely, this is his goal - along with Thiel and Yarvin, the Heritage Foundation and various others who have made clear they want different versions of a radically different US and global order. It turned out that the UK at large wasn't as up for it as he thought / hoped. The US definitely has a lot of people who think they're living in a cowboy movie and fighting the injuns, but there's also a (hopefully larger) amount who are either too complacent to fight or really don't want to live in a far-right theocracy / techno city / white supremacist fascist state.
It's certainly a possibility - and they're trying really hard to wind people up and wreck things - but i hope and believe that a majority of americans just want left alone, and will hopefully prevail. Trump's militia are certainly up for a fight, because they're thugs; I don't know how much the rest of the population are.
There are lots of anti-Musk /Trump demos happening, but not being given much coverage.
