As the US has substantially more domestic stock market investors than almost any other country its domestic political fortunes are almost uniquely tied to it as a key metric of how the US population measures its wealth.

Trump might find that people turn on him way quicker than he thinks.

I can already see it as investments and pension pots are tanking daily.

His stance on Ukraine is unlikely to change much. The economy is a bit more of an unknown, you would think that there is a lot of pressure going to be applied behind the scenes if the markets continue to tank.
He prides himself in being this great, successful businessman and a Wall Street collapse under his presidency would not look that great on his CV.

The guy has no ****ing clue what he’s doing.

Or I suppose alternatively, he knows exactly what he’s doing and is manipulating markets to help his rich pals get richer.
