Disappointed that Omeonga won't be coming back.

Murray has been performing well in pre-season so a good opportunity for him to kick-on and nail down a place in the team and I imagine we will dip into the loan market for a defensive midfielder once the Premiership & Championship transfer window closes to give us cover and options.

Does Murray have potential to be a box-to-box CM ala McGinn/Omeonga or is he more further forward? If the latter, will be tough to fit him and Malallan into the same team.

I’m pretty sure that people have said that you can’t fit Mallan and any other midfielder mentioned in to the same team at some point on here. :greengrin

The latter, is played as an attacking midfielder. Could be wrong but doesn’t look like he has the physicality to run the midfield box to box, not yet anyway.

Market forces, essentially.

We are in a unique situation compared to other similarly sized leagues, in that we are in the same broadcast market as one of the giants.

An Indy Scotland with its own broadcast market would be able to treat English Premier League rights like other nations do, much cheaper than the current situation were our broadcasters are the same as England’s, paying the billion quid plus.

Would that mean there’d be more money to pay for Scottish League rights? Unknown, ultimately it would come down to how many people in Scotland were willing to pay to see it. I’m not convinced there’s some big pot of money being siphoned away from our game however.

Because we dont control the media licensing regulations. Quite simple. Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands etc control their broadcast media. We dont so we are ignored.

That is bad news,this was a player that was very good and would only have gotten better,think Hibs have missed out big time on this. IMHO

Isn’t Fraser Wishart the players Union rep? Not that it seems Cummings has been near Tynecastle anyway.

Because Mallan can't or won't put the hard yards in when it matters. No way on earth you can play him in a central 2 and if you are playing him in a 3 he still needs someone to do the donkey work for him.
