anyway, Toulon beat Benetton Treviso 23-0 and that was playing almost the entire game with just 14 after a Red card on just the 6th minute for Toulon



i'm also looking forward to the La Rochelle v Leinster final in the champions cup, after La Rochelle thrashed Exeter Chiefs 47-28, they'll obviously be wanting to retain that trophy.

I managed to get season tickets again for the upcoming Summer Tests and Six Nations and I'm delighted. I don't see us winning it this year either (away to Ireland is a killer), but I've never seen us play England before in person, so I'm looking forward to it.

An away trip to Dublin on the St Patrick's Day weekend is seriously tempting, even if it means seeing Ireland crowned champions again (which is my way-too-early prediction).

Another one bites the dust , club rugby in England is in a real mess , can't really say this was unexpected

i never look forward to this sequence of games, the three away with just the two home games and very hard ones at that, lets hope by the time we face Italy away we've already secured at the very least 5th place cause we won't get anything in Dublin.

I'm the same - much prefer the 3 at home. Looking forward to seeing us play England for the first time, but they'll be better value next year with the return of the Autumn Tests (and hopefully NZ, Aus, SA come visiting) and the three home Six Nations games.

Looks like a new competition is going to appear in 2026, with the Six Nations and Sanzaar organisations merging to create home/away tests during the summer/autumn. Sounds very similar to the existing summer in the south, autumn in the north test series, but adding some actual competition to it - no format confirmed yet.

The Rugby Championship starts next Saturday, always a good few weeks entertainment 🏉

Just reading up on this, sounds just like the European Superleague that everyone was so against in football, but for rugby. Tier 2 nations (except for a token 2) are completely screwed over and won't get a chance to compete in this competition until 2030 at the earliest as there's not going to be promotion or relegation.

I thought world rugby was meant to be growing the game? They already let the Pacific island nations get screwed over by the tier 1 countries cherry picking their players, now they are not going to be allowed to play tier 1 countries in any meaningful games apart from the world cup. How are they meant to improve?

We should be opening up competition, not closing it down.

I don't understand the upset here. It's an operational appointment, the SRU will have a governance framework/strategy for these appointments and Ruth must fit the bill.

Politically, I always thought she came across well and one of the less devisive politicians. I've never voted Tory, although I've voted pretty much everyone else so they're the last ones on my bingo card but she'd maybe have tempted me if I were in her constituency.

Outside of politics I've seen her appear on a couple of TV shows where she comes across well. Lately I've met her a few times and again think she comes across as a really intelligent and genuine person.

Hard to judge today - we had some nice shapes across the park and I thought Healy looked very good at 10. So many changes though, and the conditions were rotten.

Fagerson brothers can't be trusted when it comes to discipline. Another stupid, needless tackle. I thought they were a bit lucky not to have a couple of yellows too (especially the tackle on DVM), but it wasn't a bad-blooded game.

Kinghorn looked outstanding at 15 today. Read the game and spread the ball very well.

I got a tram from Haymarket to the Gyle today and timed it to pass Murrayfield when the game was still ongoing. Was surprised that hundreds piled on when there was still about 20-25 minutes to play and a fair few more who couldn't get on

Any other player and they are banned.

They constantly go on about player safety but this confirms they have zero interest in that given it’s Farrell. He does have pre cons for similar type tackles and seems to avoid punishment on occasion.

Farrell has been protected for years. A disgraceful decision by an organisation who proclaim that they are all about player safety

He's on standby, but I'm not sure he'll play in the RWC - I suspect he might play vs Georgia, and he'll keep himself fit, but I'm sure Rambo's already reconciled not playing in the RWC barring an injury.

Instead of Steve Borthwick venting his frustration at the The Rugby Authorities surely it's Owen Farrell who should feel the wrath of hie frustrations , after all he's the one who continually keeps putting himself in these situations due to his inability to learn from his previous mistakes, this despite having attended " Tackle School " to help him improve his technique.
