Conor Washington released by Sheff Utd.... could be worth a punt....?
With Hecky as manager i am a lot more open to unknown signings but also confident that he could convince some England based players to make the move north.
Time will tell.

Not sure if they've been mentioned already but I see Mark O'Hara, Jose Baxter, and Ash Taylor have all been either released or are transfer listed.
I follow a bit of the English Football League and for me they are 3 players with decent pedigree that I would target and they could improve us in either First 11 or match day squad depth. O'Hara hasn't really done it since leaving Dundee but still young enough to do a Fraser Fyvie/Dylan McGeouch turn around and Ash Taylor was a decent centre half for a decent Aberdeen side till *cough* things happened *cough*. Would happily look at either of them as potential signings for next season.
Baxter is an interesting one though, he's had a drugs issue in the past and that can put people off, and rightly so. But his old club Everton stood by him to the point where they gave him a contract, and as a player he could absolutely flourish up here I reckon. If his head was in the right place he would be worth money to someone one day. That one I would leave up to people who have met him rather than seen him play though.
Not strictly a transfer rumour however is relevant with regards to a signing philosophy.
‘Pace, Power and Athleticism’
An interesting read:

An exciting read and looking forward to that sort of player coming in. I think to do well at the top end of the league you need exactly what he has described.
Aberdeen and Killie are an example of this, solid back 4 and centre mid, wingers and strikers will be the threat and beat teams.
Aberdeen - Dirty as they come, don’t give away much but GMS, McGinn etc all win the games with their quality.
Kilmarnock - Exact same with Jones, McKenzie and Brophy
Scott Allan will make a big difference especially if he has good pace and movement around him.
Think Mark O’Hara fits the bill perfectly, very big athletic boy who done well at Dundee before his move down south. Can chip in with a couple of goals too.
Jamie Lindsay is similar and would be a good addition.
Really looking forward to see who he brings in
Scotsman today quoting Hecky that we are definitely trying to secure McNulty and Omeonga for next season.
Getting definitive on these two before the end of this month would be hugely beneficial in planning for next season.
Jonny Williams is out of contract at Charlton at the end of the season. Reckon we could lure him North?
How anyone could say they would pass on an opportunity to get Dylan back completely baffles me. Simply fantastic footballer. Imo if he had McGinnis engine he would be a better player. When fit, at times unplayable.
Bring him home.
I think you may see Mallan playing the deeper role unless he can add drive, pace and power to his game. Omeonga or similar next to Allan with Mallan sitting deeper would be my mid 3. Its who he brings in as either backup or to challenge for positions that's intriguing.
