Congratulations to Hawick RFC on lifting the title & 100 caps for Hoggy tomorrow . My old man always said Scotland would never have a decent team until Hawick have a winning team so maybe this ia an omen for tomorrow's game
Should be a cracking game today between Scotland and Ireland . Do fancy Ireland for a narrow win but will be a tough match 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
Someone has got to say it - can we get another stadium announcer at Murrayfield please? That shrill voice does my heid in, surely we can do better than that.?
🙄
can't see anything else but a win for the irish here unfortunately :(
Stuart Hogg only the fourth scot to get 100 caps
Jesus got away with that one there. What a stupid decision that was. Luckily a void line out and no try Ireland.
What on earth is up with the Scottish line-out?
get in :greengrin
Not convinced that Irish try was grounded before he went out of play.
irish player asking for a yellow card
the referee will decide bonzo
The two off feet calls were garbage.
I also hate the not releasing call when it's the defending player that stops the forward moving his arms out. I wish they'd fix that.

Been a good game so far. We can win this

Thought Scotland should have kicked for goal and went in ahead.
Penalties penalties penalties.
VDM not taking that ball was criminal.
Ireland are just too good for us. Even when Scotland are in possession, we’re under pressure. They’ll run out easy winners. Best team in the world so no disgrace.
Ireland just gave this brutal relentlessness that proper winners have. I think they will win the World Cup.
they will hammer us in the WC
Scotland lineout misfires, shirly not
jeezo the worst forward pass EVER
they took the wrong faegerson off 10 mins ago
now they change him
Ireland gone through the gears and Scotland have resumed the usual mistakes that have frequently hurt them.
A shame after such a promising first half.
i've possibly missed some mins but have we been ANYWHERE near their line in this half
I've switched over to the Newcastle game, watching Ireland step on the pedal and Scotland unable to stop them is getting depressing.
that lineout
again
done well keeping the score down though
easy money
Ireland could well annihilate England next week
Hopefully.
Scotland defended well. Got a few questionable calls against them but nothing that would change the game.
The decision to go for the line at the half was the correct one, if it comes off you have a lead to hold into second half, if it doesn't you're still a point behind. A kick doesn't change much.
We're still not quite at the table against the very top sides but we are a good side. I really wish we could cut out the daft penalties and handling errors.
Ireland are ridiculous.

Unlucky guys , think Ireland upped there game ,got a great team . Scotland really put it up to Ireland in the first- half , think Scotland's on the right track and are a much improved side . England next now in Dublin for the grand slam on St paddies week , plenty of Guinness shall be drank :greengrin
Warburton on BBC commentary saying what Scotland should have done against the flanker doing the line outs for Ireland we only started doing it when game over and he was all over the place. Really struggle with Fraser Brown line out throwing never seems to nail it and admittedly going back to the World Cup at Twickenham against Australia. Last week misses the key line out this week again. Seems like still at times subs are made for no apparent benefit
I predicted 3-2 before the competition started. Sadly, barring a drastic change in personnel/coaching, that's as good as it's going to get for a while.
Finn is (on his game) world class - sadly, we're lacking in others who fit that category. Our entire back row were garbage today.
Gilchrist missing was huge for us, he calls the linouts, he leads the linouts, he carries ball and makes heaps of tackles. Goes about his business quietly and effectively. I though that Demosey was ok but the others were poor. 10, 12, 13 were fine and Steyn had a decent day. Thought Hogg was poor and Duhan had all of his weaknesses exposed throughout the game. Ireland are a class act but it's the infrastructure below their international side is light years ahead of ours. Scottish Rugby is in a total state below pro level and it shows.
Russell and Hogg both out for Saturday
Russell will be a miss, Hogg not so much. As long as they play Kinghorn at 15 and not 10 we'll not miss Hogg. Not sure who I'd play at 10
I'm not Kinghorns biggest fan at 10 but he's played better team at 10 and won. He's a valuable asset as he can almost play 10 to 15 anywhere. Ollie Smith at 15 deserves his opportunity and he's a prospect.
Healy will hopefully make his debut at 10 as I think he's the long term successor to Finn.
Ashman and redpath hopefully gets time.
Horne can feel hard done by especially since he's massively out performed price this campaign who's shown nothing of his lions form.
Italy will be no pushover but it's a chance to blood some players for the world cup too which will be badly needed in a tough group.

Too many penalties already from Scotland
brave going for the lineout instead of taking the points
wow some finish van man :greengrin
not so good con attempt
dempsey gives away the penalty straight from the restart, so poor
5-6
VDM with a fantastic finish.
Scotland need to cut out the mistakes, giving the Italians an easy exit
What a hideous strip Scotland are wearing.
Italy get a warning after collapsing 6 scrums. Should be down to 14.
And they are.
Try + Con Kinghorn
12-6
Finally, made hard work of that
Very scrappy stuff , Loads is errors from Scotland
kinghorn gets his 2nd try + Con
good strength
19-6
Can never understand why teams didn't spin the ball wide in those close in situations, move it out twice then back in one , this round the corner stuff and going about 6" forward isn't great to watch
Still giving away far too many penalties
Kinghorn at 10 just doesn't work. It's so scrappy. Bring Healy on and let Blair play at 15.

Italy back in it
19-11
Pen Italy 19-14
There, healy in at 10
Blair to 15. Price gets us moving and then a stupid penalty again.

Zander fagerson has not had a great game
and now subbed
Scotland are going to lose this game. They've been utterly shambolic

the bookies got this one wayyyyyyyy wrong, i took Italy with a +15
What an absolutely crazy game
wow who saw that one coming :greengrin what a finish i was raging he didn't kick it into touch
hatrick of tries + cons Kinghorn
i'm still astonished we took that risk :greengrin
brave decision Wales not taking a cert 3 points
right one though, Try wales in front of the posts
didn't last long, Try France
Yass Cmon Ireland
england red card, i'm still not too sure about that one
that'll probably cost them
Red Card , could be a game changer
Tremendous toughness from England here. Holding on with a man down, like the Hibs.
excellent timing for my treble bet, cashed out seconds before a converted try would have cost me ;)
just couldn't trust england to hold on :greengrin 14 players wouldn't have helped them right enough
arggghh then england go and score a try
i feel auld, i remember Sexton in his first few games for Ireland and thought he wasn't a very good kicker @)
Grand slam winners 🏆🇮🇪 🇮🇪🇮🇪
14 points Connacht racked up during that Boffelli yellow card, though Connacht really should have had a Red card instead of just a Yellow minutes before that
27-19 now 41-19
bizarre Edinburgh try near the end there, very quick thinking by kinghorn :greengrin gets them a losing bonus point as well
FT 41-26
next up 4th placed Glasgow @ 5th place Munster
wow, Munster were -11 handicap with the bookies before start of play, 33 mins played Munster 0 Glasgow 21
lovely rugby and Try Glasgow
Munster 0 Glasgow 28 Bonus point gained before HT
53 mins game on Munster 7 Glasgow 31
57 mins Munster 14 Glasgow 31
61 mins Munster 14 Glasgow 38
Edinburgh poor earlier. A really disappointing season.
Usually, as a season ticket holder at the DAM, I wouldn’t back Glasgow but for Munster (or any Irish team) I’ll make an exception. Glasgow have been unreal so far, never going to go a whole game without Munster having a say at home but managed it well.
Hopefully they can see it out.
FT Munster 26 Glasgow 38
Stuart Hogg retiring after this years WC Stuart Hogg profile after Scotland & Lions full-back plots end of career - BBC Sport he will still be a young 31 then, doesn't mention club rugby so i presume from the game itself
Writing was on the wall for him anyway. I think that Kinghorn would have been first pick full back next year anyway. Been a good servant to Scotland but I do think that he believed his own hype at times and went off the boil. Record try scorer and for a while the only real threat we had. Good Hibs man as well
Anyone watching Edinburgh? Raynal might be the worst ref in world rugby.
chucked £30 on Leicester to beat Edinburgh with a -10 handicap
FT Leicester 16 Edinburgh 6
hopefully not a sign of things to come over this weekend :(
can't see them beating Leinster though
I agree, no danger they will beat Leinster. Edinburgh are on a horrible run and were utterly atrocious this evening. Despite that, Leicester struggled. The English prem really has fallen away, no longer anything near the top league.
Leinster will smash Leicester, at home I’m sure as well.
Peyper would give him a run for that title, but he wasn't great last night.
That being said, he wasn't the reason we lost. An inability to get the ball into attacking areas - after 30 minutes, I genuinely forgot Duhan was on the park.
Errors, ill-discipline, an inability to convert...sums up the season sadly. Coaching and culture a large part of the problem.
On paper, our squad and starting XV is scary - the reality of it is much less troublesome.
that was some pointsfest at Scotstoun :greengrin
FT Glasgow 73 Dragons 33, 11 tries for Glasgow with Johnny Matthews getting five of them
Glasgow v Lions QF, great chance for SF
tough going but Glasgow prevail 31-21
two games running i'm quite surprised that Scotstoun wasn't a sell-out
Yes, there was a disappointing crowd last night , various factors could have been the cause - Easter weekend , other sports on the box, pricing, scheduling and the fact that the Old Firm Derby took place earlier in the day and this possibly discouraged folk from coming into the city in case of ongoing trouble.
FT Glasgow 12 Scarlets 9
Felt like Edinburgh let a lot of hurt out in that win tonight - good atmosphere at the DAM for the final home game of the season too, and plenty going on.
i've noticed this for several of the last games i've watched :greengrin
awful timing for me, clean forgot it was sat night game and after finally suffering enough of the Blackburn/Hull game decided to flick channels and saw the Edinburgh game, unfortunately only 5 mins remaining and perfect timing for the last try of the game...from Ospreys :(
Wales back rower Josh Navidi retires from the game due to a serious neck injury
Glasgow hold out against Connacht and win 29-27 and get a home tie v Munster in the URC QF
Glasgow also presented the Scottish-Italian Shield, given to the highest Scottish or Italian side that finishes highest in the URC
challenge cup SF @ Scarlets next weekend
SF Scarlets 17 Glasgow 33
first Scottish side through to a final
play winners of Toulon v Benetton
well done Scotland women beating Ireland 36-10 and their 1st back to back wins since 2006, record attendance of just under 5k as well
Watched the second half of the Glasgow game and thought they were very good and deserved to win. The Scarlet fans were quite funny putting the pressure on the ref looked like most of them had been at the pop all day. Andrew Cotter mentioned a brawl in the crowd saying it was the first time he had seen it at a rugby match. Ref did well to withstand the pressure they were putting on him. Final in Dublin assume loads of Scots going over for that.
