Chelsea better wake up - they are going to get gubbed if they don't get into it
Big green saltire in the Betis end.
wonder if hoody Maresca has on is a 'lucky' one from cup run ? its minging... looks like its been worn by a student at multiple parties and never washed
Betis v Hibs in the Europa League next season. Betis already automatically into the League phase.
Trip to Seville to see the Hibees.
That would be a belter.
That should have been two
Ooft. How they not scored there.
Chelsea get a lot of possession and pressure then one break and should have been 2-0.
Can't believe they defend a corner with no one outside the box
Chelsea just seem slow compared to Betis
Isco reminding me of Hoillett
this match is miles better than Man U v Spurs final
So much better, mostly because of Betis. I also suspect either of these teams would have won that final against Spurs or Man U.
The other European games I’ve watched this season involving English teams have been dull, as have many of the Premiership games I’ve seen.
Contrary to that, the couple of Spanish and Italian games I’ve caught this season have been fantastic to watch.
Has the currently Premiership style of play just became really boring?
Chelsea need to waken up here quicker sharper slicker
Will be our turn next season guys :greengrin
Finish the job Betis. My preferred team in Seville 💚
Even if Betis go two up this ain't over.
They have a history of grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory.
New Betis boy wonder coming on.
Jesus Rodriguez....the new Joaquin.
Chelsea been better team so far 2nd half.
Chelsea are so bad to watch. Totally over coached. Got plenty of good attacking players but they’re just not allowed to play.
What a cracking venue for a final, compare that to Hampden. Doesn’t look to be a bad seat in the place.
Game on.
1-1
**** boo
Chelsea now have the team on the park they should have started with.
Not good.
Boooooo
Palmer very Hot this half
2-1 Chelsea. Afraid to say but it's game over
Cole Palmer is fantastic.
Can't see anything other than a Chelsea win here now.
Simple goal
Wow, 1-2 Chelsea. Palmer is a wonderful player.
Look at the hair on this radge
Joke, Betis should have been out of sight first half, can’t stand Chelsea, but that’s football
Proper Final with two teams playing to win and it swinging one way and the other.... hoping for ET and another 30...
Europa final was wishing it was cut by 30 :greengrin
What a chance that was for Jackson.
what did Palmer get booked for? kicking the ball out so a team mate could get treatment
offft what a goal that is
Wow 1-3 Chelsea. Cracker from Sancho.
McTominay.
Lukaku
Sancho
Is there a link there? :greengrin
wow these 'youngsters' have come of age... bought the talent for next 5 years
The amount of half and half scarves in the crowd is hilarious
Betis don't deserve this. Amazing to think should have gone 2-0 up.
1-4 deflection.
100million plus to win the conference league what chance have you got
Chelsea were outstanding in the 2nd half, a young team with so much enthusiasm, they'll only get better, ave age 24.
Betis players absolutely heartbroken
Betis ran out of legs in the end.
Kind of expected, but what a journey to the final.
I'm biased but what a fantastic club. Worth a read if you have time. Relegations, financial problems with the occasional glory thrown in. Kind of like Hibs in a way.
What a **** Cole Palmer is - great player but that interview, ice cold p**** !
Nope, sorry CWG but that was an awful interview and nothing to do with shyness or bring uncomfortable - arrogant, joyless, and couldn’t be arsed - in short rude to the interviewer/presenter. At least show some emotion for the support who have paid thousands to travel and support. He didn’t even celebrate with his fans. Only a European trophy after all !
lie rather football players honed their craft than became polished public speakers. Let his feet do the talking.
And whether folks are neurodiverse or not I think it serves us well as human beings to stop and think if something doesn’t seem quite as we expect it there could something else going on.
What do you know about Cole Palmer and how he felt about winning?
Have you considered that Palmer may have an introverted personality trait - and doesnt relish some of the aspects of "off field" activities that other players may enjoy?
He clearly relishes being inside the lines of a football pitch - which is what he gets paid for.
He is a hugely talented footballer and thats all that matters.
:agree:
Ive got no opinion about Palmer but my teenage son absolutely loves his attitude, and in a way its refreshing to see a player not steeped in the media training cliches. ‘It makes it all worth it seeing the happy fans faces’ etc. Nah, mate it makes it all worth it because after 15 years of working and training every day you are now a millionaire’. We get it :greengrin
Jim - I don't know factually, but yes I would say he is on the autistic spectrum. I have an adult daughter who is and I can see a whole lot of similar traits (used to be sometimes referred to as Asperger's)
Fantastically talented in one area - she is an engineer - but social situations and norms are a strain
I'm autistic and the most you could have probably got out of me the day after the cup win was "yeah it was pretty good!"
Internally I was the same as the rest of you.
Scotland women relegated from their Nations League group after a tame 1-0 defeat in the new manager's first game.
First thing they need to do is stop playing these games at Hampden. There looked to be barely a soul there.
England meanwhile thrash Portugal 6-0 in front of 55,000.
The chasm-like gap is depressing.
Watching PSG tonight is like watching the Tornadoes
2-0
Another big shift coming in European Football if they can keep this team together. After Man City / Madrid / Bayern / Barcelona and others have all had their moments.
I really disliked PSG when they just signed the most high profile players (many of whom were selfish individualists with no team ethic)
They are going beyond Peps inverted fullbacks in midfield dominance to Full backs as CF's it just such hard working, pressing combined with bags of skill and youthful exuberance - great to watch.
Never seen an old warhorse Italian team look so stunned - so much so they have not even made a bookable tackle
3-0 . That's a brilliant goal.
You win nothing with kids
I bought Doue as a 17 yo for Hibs in fifa. Sliding doors…
4-0 psg.
Inter have folded.
Wow this is some performance. Inter need some young blood next season.
:aok: when you take time to understand things you haven't experienced much before it often broadens your view of life.
My daughter was Dux of her high school - left with 5 highers and 3 advanced highers and a few credits toward a university course. Has gone on to be an engineer in the power industry after university.... and yet might need help to choose what colour of socks to wear on a day she's feeling overwhelmed.
The idea that because you are a super talented footballer you should necessarily be slick in social situations or in dealing with media questions is in my experience ridiculous
PS. how good have PSG been
This inter milan team must be one of the worst champions league finalists in recent history
It really is. While the girls'/women's game is promoted here more than it was even just ten years ago, Scotland still seems to have a culture of it being a boys'/men's game. England has absorbed women's football into the wider culture way more than we have. A lot of easy lessons for us to learn, you'd think.
Still hate PSG and their backers.....
