Frampton is on the back foot, but he’s coming back into it. Just as I say that he goes down.
This is hard to watch. Herring beating up the ghost of Frampton here.
Edit. Towel in. Hopefully he follows up with his promise to retire. The writing was on the wall after the Warrington fight.
That's a sad end to a great career, his punch resistance is gone
The towel comes in at the right time. Sometimes boxers need to be protected from themselves. Frampton has been a brilliant boxer, but it’s time to knock it on the head.
I know why he left but he's not been the same fighter since he joined Jamie Moore for me, age and a hard career have caught up as well
Couple of interesting fights on Saturday’s Matchroom card. Kash Farooq will be out to impress and grab some attention back from McGregor and Benn fights are rarely dull.
Finally Fury taking some interest in this fight. Up until this is become convinced he didn’t want it

Big fight for Farooq here. Apart from that one loss he’s looked the real deal.
Been an interesting fight between Courtenay & Bridges. A lot of pre fight talk due to Bridges attire at weigh ins but she’s been impressive. Not as technical as Courtenay but wants to walk forward and is strong.

Two judges scoring it 98-92 was a bit off, it's becoming habit
Marshall was impressive there.
This should be a good fight. Vargas has been in with some good fighters, but I like Benn.
Ref has jumped in way too early there ffs, well done Benn though
I'd barely sat down and it was all over
Impressive tho. Got some tats that lad his body is like an art studio!
Benn was good there.
Love the Benn interviews, the guy has got that desire and ability to back it up. Future superstar of British boxing.
I like Benn, he's hard not to like but I'm still unsure how good he is or can be, Khan has a glass jaw so have no interest in that, I'd like to see him fight Avenesyan that beat Josh Kelly for the European then I'd have a better take on where he's at
I can’t see Khan or Brook getting into the ring with Benn, Khan is a bit of a publicity man and to be fair to him he’s never backed down or dodged a fight in his life, but it would be madness for him to take that fight.
Khan is chinny but I wouldn’t go as far as saying he has a glass jaw.
He got splatted by the best fighter on the planet, (in a division he should never have been campaigning at) and KO’d by the biggest puncher in the division when fighting at his natural weight.
Can’t see Khan taking the fight anyway. Not interested in being a boxer anymore IMO.
Realistically, I’d like to see Benn in with Aveneseyan who beat Josh Kelly last month.
Think he’s went beyond British level now to be honest. But it wouldn’t surprise me if Hearn is looking to get some more rounds in him before a challenge at a higher level. He barely broke a sweat last night
I was at a few of Benns early fights on Glasgow and Manchester and have followed his career pretty closely as a result.
He's improved almost beyond all recognition. He always had that KO power but he's carried it up as he has moved through the levels and looks a much tighter fighter now. I love that willingness to learn and improve in any sport.
Really want to see him do well but the Welterweight division is so stacked. Think he might struggle past European level but hope he can continue to improve.
Jaron Ennis for example looked spectacular last night in his win against Lipinets. He’s tapping the door at the Top 10 and looks a much more well rounded fighter than Benn.
I couldn't sleep last night so ended up watching the Jake Paul v Ben Askren fight.
It was ugly then it was over. My take away though is that Paul knows how to box and can bang. Askren was never a striker in MMA, he was a grappler and was in there for a quick pay day. They need to stop Paul fighting non boxers though because he has the potentially to seriously hurt someone, it's not a game. If he wants to be a boxer (and he seems willing to put the work in) then he needs to fight other boxers.
Just finished watching on YouTube just out of intrigue. But embarrassing for Regis Prograis that he’s on the undercard of this freak show.
Paul does need to fight some boxers as I’m desperate for him to get banged out. He’s a horrible character.
Liam Williams put up a decent display against Demetrius Andrade last night. Looked like it was gonna be over in a couple of rounds but Williams gathered himself and gave Andrade a fight. Andrade even had to resort to a lot of holding which the referee should’ve warned him about but never.

There lies the intrigue.
Until he fights a legit professional boxer we're not going to know. In his post fight interview Paul is going on asking how many times he has to prove himself.
Well Jake, people are always going to question you until you step up a proper pro and have a proper boxing match.
Prograis got £850k as a base salary for the fight which was the highest on the card excluding what Paul would have got for PPV on top of his, was probably watched by more people than his previous fights as well, I don't like it one bit but can certainly see why he did it
Fantastic new Lennox Lewis film available on Sky Documentaries. What an absolute legend the guy is. Exactly how a world champion should conduct himself. For me, he’s the GOAT of my time. Privileged to have been at Cardiff Arms Park in the pudding rain for the Bruno fight (and Calzage’s debut).
World title fight at featherweight Edwards v Mthalane developing into a good fight. Edwards started well. Mthalane is a good well proven champ though.
Well done Sunny Edwards, he must have won that. Great performance against a very good champion.
Pretty much a masterclass from Edwards, great performance there
Taylor v Jonas has been a cracker.
I'd watch them do this again whoever wins it.
Taylor takes it. The right decision. Just.
Thought Campbell Hatton looked much improved from his debut earlier. Much cleaner and more measured. Still guilty of jumping in a bit and got caught a couple of times but that will come.
Chisora v Parker up next. Could be the last time we see Chisora. I've always liked him so hope he shows up and if he does go out it's with a bang.
That was an absolute cracker, I want to see a rematch of that for sure
What a start from Chisora. Knockdown in the 1st 10 seconds.
This could really take off soon
Parker is a ****ing pussy, he’s by a far way the best boxer here, but yet again he’s failing to show what he’s got.
I've enjoyed this.
Chisora isn't subtle but he's entertaining. Parker is by far the better boxer technically but he doesn't seem to know how to or rather doesn't want to deal with Chisora style.
Parker is controlling this fight, I just wish he’d take the next step and knock chisora out.
Why is Parker not finishing that with a minute to go? Chisora is rocking on the ropes and Parker walks away.
Parker v Usyk would be an interesting fight. I’d be backing Usyk, too slick and skilful.
Another shocking decision, how that can be a split decision is beyond me. The right result in the end though.
116-111 is just wrong when you consider the knockdown. 3 rounds for Chisora? 115-113 is a fairer representation of that fight and would have been an accurate UD. Chisora could make a legitimate claim for the bulk of the 1st 5 or 6 plus the knockdown. Parker controlled from there on but winning 9 rounds? Not having that. Equally I'm not having the one card for Chisora either, he didn't win the fight.
Chisora wants a rematch on the AJ Fury Undercard. Yes please.

I had Parker winning 7 rounds to 5. No idea where 116-111 came from.
Predictions for tonight/tomorrow morning?
I'm going for something similar to the Alvarez v Khan fight. Saunders slickness and ability to box off the back foot will trouble Canelo at 1st and he may well win a few of the early rounds. At his most focused and best Saunders is a brilliant boxer. As the fight goes on Alvarez will start to cut off the ring, start to close the gap and take control.
Canelo by late stoppage or convincing points. Saunders biggest problem is he has to land a KO, no way is he winning on points, and I'm not sure he has the power nor does Alvarez have a vulnerable chin.
Time does main event start at roughly :aok:
Went pretty much as expected, I had it about level, Canelo is very heavy handed, destroyed BJS eye with one punch basically and game over
Didn't really go as I expected but I though Saunders performed reasonably well. He was certainly growing into it a bit before that finish. Canelo is a monster though, he saw Saunders ducking punches and started hammering home those brutal uppercut, as soon as one landed it was always going to cause trouble.
Saunders corner done the right thing, if they hadn't pulled him out the ref or doctor would have had to. His eye was horrific.
Anyone know what time Josh Taylor is fighting on 22nd. Mind you probably be too drunk to stay up/care hopefully!
Wouldn't be surprised to see it happen sooner rather than later, after the Prograis fight Hearn pushed pretty hard to try and sign him and JT gets on with him, but the ease of making the Ramirez fight and the fact they had Crawford is what made him go with Top Rank eventually
The issue there is that Hearn doesn’t have access to any of the elite Welterweights. With Crawford rumoured to be leaving Top Rank in October, I wonder if Josh will follow him to PBC / Al Haymon.
Plenty cash to be made there if so...(Mikey Garcia, Porter, Spence, Thurman, Danny Garcia...)
With Hearn about to announce he is leaving Sky for Dazn then he is going to have silly money to throw about, great position to be in but JT has always maintained he wants belts and the biggest fights possible then to get out, it's anyone's guess just now
Although Josh is fighting on Fite TV in the UK he signed with Top Rank in the US and fighting on ESPN.
He might not be getting the same exposure in the UK but I suspect he is probably earning more with Top Rank than he would be with anyone else.
Only on a fight by fight basis. I don't think there's a set agreement between them.
It's pretty disappointing that a fight were a UK fighter can become an undisputed 4 belt world champion is not on a mainstream TV channel.
I'd normally get up and watch this and buy the PPV if need be but it's not quite the same sitting watching it in a laptop.
Agreed. Surprised BT haven’t picked it up. JT should be a huge household name by now. Boxers with half his talent who are signed to Matchroom are living the celebrity life.
Thankfully it’ll be on IPTV so will get it on the big telly. Not sure what Nick I’ll be in though 🤣
I have two theories in mind, theory one is I behave and pace myself through out the day and I'm in perfect working order for the fight, unlikely as it will be my first time seeing all my pals at once since Feb last year
Theory two is that because I've not been drinking recently that I'm home wrecked at a reasonable time that will give me a sufficient sleep to wake up and watch it
We shall see, wish I was grown up enough not to drink at all
JT switched on his radge setting in the face off, game on now:fuming:
Really really can't wait for this
Interview / feature with ESPN is on Josh’s instagram.
Superb stuff we really should be getting from a U.K. station.
Not been this buzzing for a fight since Taylor v Prograis. Kaman the Tartan Tornado!
Looks like Fury Joshua is off.
Fury being ordered to fight Wilder for a third time. Not sure what Joshua is going to do now? usyk?
The Taylor Ramirez fight should be the talk of the world. It's a huge fight and whoever wins will achieve something that hardly ever happens in boxing.
The fact it's not been picked up by a major UK TV station is bizarre.
