This is just my opinion. But to see the best of Boyle over the whole season, then I believe that would be a good approach. Obviously there will be some games where he will be a starter, just not the majority to protect his body.

Boyle will be first name on the team sheet and rightly so.
Hopefully today we hear either way regarding both Triantis and Hoilett, with the squad leaving for the Netherlands tomorrow it would be fantastic if both were there.
Boyle is easily our best striker and one of the best in the league, a few weeks holiday hasnt changed anything. He will start every week in my opinion(unless injured) and based on last season should probably stay on as captain

All foreign players are a much bigger risk than Scottish / UK players IMO but sometimes it’s where you find the best value for money and a player missed by bigger clubs.
I’m not advocating this move BTW. His career has been decent but playing in Japan since 2021 worries me a bit.

Another way of seeing it. If we bring in a 1st team striker. Who gets benched, Bowie or Boyle?
I certainly wouldn’t be benching our top goalscorer and top goal assister. Any player that has signed has to prove that they deserve to be in the team. All players we sign are 1st team squad players.Quote:
