Apart from occasional individuals (Hoy, Murray) our teams are absolutely honking when compared to similiar sized countries.
Japan deserve this. They've been sensational.

Get Townsend out the door as soon as the final whistle goes. He’s been treading water for far too long in games where it matters, and he’s being found out big time here. Japan are playing great rugby but we’re all over the place.

Maybe it's time we just accept our place in the hierarchy when it comes to football and rugby. One of those nations that sees an opposition coach from a half decent team say 'it's always a tough game' which translates as 'anything less than a convincing win could see me sacked'.
I actually think it's a case that Japan are very very good as opposed to Scotland being that bad. I fancy Japan to beat South Africa.
