Conversely why wouldn't it

So BKFC sending up there highly successful head of recruitment to take up the same position at hibs doesn't quell your concerns?
If that man does half as well as he has down at Bournemouth in the last 3/4 years then I'd be absolutely delighted.
Let's not also forget Tim Bezbatchenko's very helpful hands on approach and being spotted around the club in the last 6-12 months or so. They absolutely have Hibs best interests at heart.
He may have originally wanted other people for Gray & Mackay’s roles. However, to balance that out were they not also rumoured to have been against sacking Gray? This thread looks to be going the way of folk going out their way to look for negatives to throw at Foley and/or the Black Knights.
Hibs look to have finality got their act together on and off the park. I’d be surprised if this was despite Foley/Black Knights and not as part of their collaborative input.
The consortium's stated aim is 51%, ie control. They haven't shifted from that, and there is no obvious reason why they would.
The 49ers part is less than half of that.
The only way it might change is if Leeds don't get promoted, and the Championship don't change their stance on dual-ownership. In that case, they have to make a choice between the two.
The man in one of interviews on what he was wanting to do at Bournemouth described buying/ or into clubs as ‘FEEDER CLUBS ‘ raised concerns for me in he hadn’t Hibs best interests at heart in the beginning .
He has since changed his approach on this and has been describing it as a partnership . Interestingly enough you mention Bezbatchenko who has came out and categorically denied we will ever be a ‘ Feeder club’ maybe that was partly to smooth over concerns fans had from what was originally said…
Of course it’s not the first time Folly has came out with something only to do a u-turn . He called trump a narcissist egomaniac only to financially back him in an election. From my own point of view which is anyone that would back a person like that I’d seriously question about their character…
I’m quite happy with things as they stand as I know the current owners we have certainly have a strong bond / love for the club and we are their sole priority, hopefully now that we have another party on board we can work together for everyone’s benefit but at the same time I wouldn’t want them to takeover the club as they have their fingers in too many pies for my liking..
The feeder club thing makes me laugh.
If only we consistently had players good enough to feed into a (potential) top 7 premiership side.
Like every billionaire who buys into football the ultimate goal is European football. Of all the clubs the BKs have a stake in Hibs are the one most likely to be able to achieve that on a regular basis, and for a far less significant investment than the likes of AFC Bournemouth or Lorient. If we are less than 2nd in the pecking order we bloody well shouldn't be.
It can't be about winning leagues because none of the clubs they are involved in have a cat in hell's chance of doing that, apart from maybe Auckland, not when other clubs in the same league are owned by countries and the likes of us compete with two clubs stratospherically better off than us.
What positive influence Bill Foley's involvement in the club is going to have, or can have, is still very much in the 'remains to be seen' category for me and that's a year down the line. One thing is for sure ...... I don't want anybody who gives money to the political campaign of a fascist anywhere near overall control of this club, now or in the future.
If he didn't have Hibs best interests at heart, he wouldn't have sent his main clubs head of recruitment up here to carry out the same role.
I don't really care about the whole trump scenario, it has no bearing on the running of the club nor is it relevant.
The current majority owners have the final say in who or what we do and that's good enough for me at present. It's not always been plain sailing though so some guidance from Foley & Co is welcome imo.
Two things. There were plenty on here who disagreed with the appointments of McKay and Gray.and have you checked on Mrs. Gordon’s political leanings?
Indeed, fantasy stuff, even if it may have come from Foley.
The chances of us feeding players regularly to an EPL is p*sh.
Fine, McGinn is in the EPL now but he joined Villa when they were in the Championship.
More chance players will come to us, however this will need to be carefully managed not to stunt the progress of players already here. It will be interesting going forward how this will be done with Gray & MacKay identifying players along with Black Knights.
From the noise BKFC are making it’s very much the case that we would get players on their way to Bournemouth - so signed into the group with a pathway that includes time here, assuming it matches our plans as well.
Tim Bezbechenko said in a podcast recently that BKFC might have designs on sending a player to Hibs but if we identify a better option then they have to rethink their plans (and not us rethink ours). I thought this was a good insight into how the relationship works and how everyone ensures Hibs remain Hibs’ priority.
:agree: we will win the league if we regularly have players good enough to be "fed" to an EPL team. They aren't going to sign any old *****.
Foley/BKs input is welcoming and is only a positive for the club. Couldn't give a ***** if he's mates with Trump either. Keep politics away from Hibernian.
Again. We discuss football on here, you can use the Holy Ground for politics if that's your thing.
If people are complaining about one of our major shareholders due to his politics, I think people are entitled to defend the politics he’s being criticised about?
I get it’s a tenuous link to Hibs but at the risk of sounding petty, the poster you quoted never started it.
