I worked in the licensed drinks industry for four years and found that some peoples attitudes towards alcohol put me off the stuff. Admittedly some geographical locations were worse than others, but the amount of people who should know better cackling away, spouting utter bollocks which usually involved such hilarious ‘bants’ such as “aww, he’s an alcoholic, ha ha ha ha”, and climbing over each other for the sake of a free sample at an event was completely tiring in the end.
I’m completely aware that sounds snobbish, but in the end I was completely fed up of dealing with the minority of people who embarrassed themselves. The majority of people were good to deal with, but the very loud and boorish minority stick more in my brain.
