We'll see a spate of junior ministers on their way soon enough.
Andrew Murrison MP has just resigned as a trade envoy.

For 18 months, Rishi Sunak was basically the only person standing in-between the PM and unmitigated spending. Also one of the (very) few to see inflation coming and prepare the public finances for it. If PM stays, Sunak as the fiscally responsible backstop will be missed
Exhibit a
: Boris just concluded meeting of 80 or so Tory MPs following Sajid and Rishi's resignation. Am told he said:
"I know you’re all avidly in favour of tax cuts and tonight’s events might make that a bit easier to deliver

Nadine Dorries has tried to submit a letter of resignation, but accidentally adopted a snow leopard
Surely to **** he has to go now.
It's clear that he and his acolytes in the cabinet are not going anywhere. The only way he is going is if he's forced out by whatever legal mechanisms are in place.
He's been gone for months now and it's incredible to be think him, Dorries, Patel etc are so out of touch that they think he can survive.
It's down to the 1922 committee to change their rules and remove him which I'm in no doubt they will do.
He's clearly taken lessons from his mate Trump about clinging to power until the bitter end.
Can't see an election. They have years to rebuild. Inflation will drop massively over the next few years, they will have one as things appear to be getting better. They will also probably want the stench of partygate ect away, although no hiding from brexit
Gove since confirmed he's staying so 3 left on the fence

I'm not aware that Zahawi, Gove, Eustice, Coffey have confirmed whether or not they are planning to stay in cabinet after this evening's events. All other cabinet ministers bar the most junior have briefed that they are staying
Yes, after the recent confidence vote Bozo is technically safe for a year, and is he the type to resign? Not until the very last moment. Either the 1922 Committee changes its rules regarding leadership challenges, or so many ministers resign that even de Pfeffel accepts the jig is up. Either way Bozo does even more damage to the Tories. He isn't going to do the simple thing and go quickly and quietly.
Tory Party Vice Chairman just resigned live on Telly. Extraordinary.

Yes, he could ask the Queen to dissolve parliament directly and force a general election. That’s what the counts were playing at when they voted through the fixed terms act legislation 10? years ago, removing the right of the Commons to oversee when a general election is called. Even in the current climate, it would be dynamite for the Queen to refuse the PMs request, a constitutional crisis even.
I think the only way this could happen is with a vote of no confidence in the government. And there is no way Tory MPs would vote for that when they can just alter the 1922 committee rules and vote him out that way.
But God knows what other tricks Bojo has up his sleeve.
'Loyalsists' bumping their gums about Johnsons 'great record with the vaccine and its all actually complete and utter lies.

Brexit hardman Steve Barclay is new health secretary. Desperate.
Gobby Gullis is away too.
