Here’s what we’re picking out of the covid tombola of restrictions today!
Are Downing Street parties cancelled as well?
Saying 500 is patronising *****, it's banned. Best boosters in Europe, cases dropping in London the first hit, starting to be significant evidence it's milder..
Just losing the will with all these politicians. Where is the facts and science behind these decisions? Hospital cases are at their lowest in months, London cases already peaked, evidence this new strain is less dangerous, huge amount of the population boosted. Why is this necessary?
Because the alternative is easing the self isolation rules slightly and that represents a U turn. We'll just continue down the path we are now on, cases will peak in line with London, albeit behind their curve, and restrictions will be hailed as the reason.
It's ALL politics.
Still hospital numbers level and even slightly down. SA, Denmark and London all different examples and timing that are showing positive and surprising trends now.
Stay at home but get boosted, then stay at home again. But you can go to the pub with a group indoors daily but not to an outdoor football match once a week. And even then instead of reducing crowds to say 50% or even 25% it’s a total insult of 500 fans.
She can **** right off. I hope our sport goes for her throat and throws her under the bus. And IF the premier league down south still have 60-70k crowds each week the pressure will mount. This 3 weeks is a smoke screen. This will be months now to get back to normal. May be next season now.
Get you booster to stay at home. That’s life in Scotland now.
I only caught a wee bit of the update and scanned through this too - is it basically as we were apart from events being canned (to 500) for a few weeks with advice to restrict going about and mixing for the same time?
Cancelled my booster appointment, what’s the point? I’m not allowed to go to football now whether I’m vaccinated or not.
Half and half, I hadn’t had one booked yet but today’s announcement hasn’t put me in any rush to book one that’s for sure. I’ll probably wait till after the year now. Why risk flooring myself with side effects before Christmas when I won’t be able to do much anyway?
EDIT: For the record I was quite happy getting double jabbed as soon as possible but have never waded into the “vaccinated vs unvaccinated” argument, everyone should have their own choice. I have never called, and certainly don’t appreciate being called, a moron because of it.
Of course its personal choice, but to go to the extent of cancelling an appointment because you can’t go to the football is about as childish as it gets.
I hope for Sauls sake he doesn’t catch omicron, when the booster has been shown to better protect against it.
Like you say, personal choice but if you’re going to share it on a forum you need to be prepared to be told it’s daft.
England: Tories can't get a mask mandate and vaccine passports (Plan B) through parliament on their own.
Scotland: Had a mask mandate since June 2020 and vaccine passports as early as possible. Now living under the equivalent of Plan C for 3 weeks (which will mean 2/3 months).
It'll be interesting to see the difference in cases/hospitalisations/deaths between the two countries over the coming months. I've been fully on-board with the SNP until the summer of this year, but I feel Sturgeon has lost the plot now. Time will tell, I suppose.
