Fair play to the SG for having the lowest level of homelessness in the UK. Will likely be all over the news tonight that.[emoji106][emoji849]

Not even similar he was complaining about personal insults, the whole thing about he must be at the shops in particular. Where this is someone putting an opinion that she might have only travelled because she had to go to Westminster. When the fact is she went to the gym and hairdressers whilst waiting for a result before she even travelled to work.
Cummings was disgusting and could have cost people there lives when not isolating, ferries the same. As others have said its really indefensible. Just because the tories were acting like **** bags at the same time is irregardless, the rest of us were following the rules
I'm confused .. the post I think you're talking about they say it was wrong to travel and only wondered if the fact she had to travel for work may have impacted her attitude overall.
FWIW, Westminster had been operating remotely for a bit if MPs desired, it was only later on that JRM put his foot down... it may even be after this particular event so has no bearing on it at all.
I said I hadn't been following it closely - yet another part of my post that was roundly ignored by all subsequent posters. So, I don't know whether this event took place before or after JRM enforced attendance.
My point was simply about whether it was helpful for JRM to require attendance when most other office based jobs were WFH.
It's two separate things. It isn't good that he was pushing people in. Totally separate to that she was disgusting in going to the gym, hairdressers and getting presents for her friend. This is after she had a test because of feeling unwell and before she travelled to work.
Even without that fact she wouldn't of had to go down to London if she was waiting for a result, people were joining debates by video link most of the way through the pandemic.
https://www.parliament.uk/about/how/...-arrangements/
Just so we know what level of attendance was expected by JRM
He got away with it because it was before the first lockdown and there was no rules yet I think. Although was there not another tory who went shopping while waiting for results. All these are individual cases like ferrier and I don't think you can blame the parties. Talking of parties you can blame the tories for having weekly yeehaas while the rest of us tried our best to stick to the rules
How's it political. People of all parties are saying its disgraceful. Boris and Cummings has been brought up as well as tories that have done things. If anything it's not political as you cant blame the snp. I think the ones trying to find mitigating factors are the only ones playing political sides
Anyone reading his post, after this first line would understand that he wasn't following the story, and yet you say he was trying to defend her. He wasn't. As far as I can see he was trying to understand the story, not to defend anyone.
You'd made your mind up.
Nobody failed to read the first line. It's the second line and its laughable (in the sense that it made me laugh when I read it) attempt to pin the blame for her behaviour on Rees-Mogg that's the issue.
Sometimes it's OK to just accept that somebody with connections to the SNP did something wrong without trying to shoehorn the Tories into it.
To answer your question no it was nothing to do with the tories or mogg, as she could have worked remotely. It was completely her fault, as she gallivanted about town whilst positive with a killer disease pre vaccination. I'm sure you'd agree.
Done to death. Her fault totally disgusting actions, but nothing to do with the snp directly
Can the NHS strike?
@UniteScotland
·
Our members in NHS Scotland have rejected the 5% pay offer from the Scottish Government and have voted to take strike action in a consultative ballot.
We will now be preparing an industrial action ballot for our members
Nobody seriously believes the question was asked as anything more than a lame attempt to apportion blame to the Tories. When the opening sentence of a post states 'I haven't been following this story' any subsequent question to be asked might be along the lines of 'can anyone fill me in on the details?', not a poorly veiled attempt at deflection.
Absolutely. There are no redeeming factors at play here.
Had she resigned I might have had a degree of sympathy, based on an assumption she was bitterly regretting a really stupid mistake. However, her reckless behaviour and seeming total absence of remorse leave no room for any sort of compassion.
You seem much happier attacking the man/woman rather that what he actually said. Now that it's been pointed out to you that he didn't actually say what you thought he did, you've gone and done a reverse Tory and claim that what he/she said was taken out of context. Surely he/she will know better than you what they meant.
Depends how you view it i suppose.

This is good news. The Scottish Govt being asked to account for all its CV19 spending. I take it that means all uk govts will be doing the same.

I don't have much a problem with much of what she's saying there tbh.
Contested leadership contests are good and the SNP look to be desperately short of leadership candidates.
Times change, people mellow. Whilst she's certainly not flavour of the month right now, that might change over time. She's certainly a very intelligent and formidable person and the gender debate might change in nature over time so someone with her beliefs finds themselves either 'in the right" or cancelled altogether.
And it's not necessarily always about middle ground and submitting to majorities. If she were to become leader it might be much more about taking it in a particular direction and asking "who is with me"?
It’s not really about policy, not even the trans issue. She just isn’t a people person and is too adversarial to take people with her.
I’m not sure how SNP leadership elections work but it’s fair to say her chances are diminished if she doesn’t enjoy the support of her parliamentary colleagues.

His article would have merit if it gave any background into the procurement process and how the offer from these providers sat in the market.
The article points out quite clearly it was contingent workers during pandemic. Some sort of analysis of the cost of the Scottish government and NHS dealing with the recruitment and payroll process compared to using an agency would be helpful.
Without any of that it's really just uninformed chutney.
It's probably not possible to procure much these days at that level without it somehow touching some tory bigwig.
I'd also be very surprised if an official procurement procedure was followed. Audit Scotland will tell us in the future if that wasn't the case however I doubt we'll hear that it's dodgy.

Another sex pest
Sex pests are abhorrent in any shape or form, but using stories like this to try and score cheap political points seems a bit silly to me.
*I don't have time to search for the details but I'm sure there's another poster on here ( I think from memory he claims to be ex Police or something along those lines) and he seems to always be first to post stories like this.
It's almost as if he takes great delight in searching for sex pest stories which contain an SNP involvement, however flimsy that involvement may be, so he can then post it on here.
Strange behaviour, but that's seems to be his thing.
You've beat him to it this time though.
GGTTH
There is regular baiting and disgust when there is a story of a tory sex pest. They have nothing to do with Conservatives as a party and either do the stories about snp people caught doing the same
I'm suggesting nothing even remotely close to what you just said, but I think you already know that.
I'd say anyone who can read this forum is likely to be more than capable of reading their own news stories and forming their own opinions of sex pests, or indeed of any other topic.
Im always glad when criminals especially sex predators are
caught and dealt with, I'm sure any reasonable person would be.
I just find it a bit weird that there are people with what could probably be called an obsession, trawling around the internet looking for sex pest stories to try and score cheap political points.
I actually can't recall the username of the person that I referred to in my original post, but if you're a guy who continually searches for sex pest stories with any supposed SNP links, even made up links, to post the stories on this forum then I suppose it could be you.
GGTTH
I don’t trawl or search, stories pop up on newsfeed and like many on here I share on this board. But again you were straight on the defence, with the tactic of attacking the poster, namely me, as an obsessive for sharing a link at the same time condemning the action of sex pest.
I've got things to do so I'll make this my last post on this topic.
I read quite a lot of sports/ news and current affairs online but I don't get any popups about sex pests.
We are obviously miles apart on what we consider to be normal news reading material or forum posting behaviour.
Anyway, I'll keep my eyes peeled for the next story about sex pests that you post on here after it pops up in your news feed.

He resigned in 2018 after giving someone a slap. He was an independent since then and bumped by the electorate not long after IIRC.
He was also given short shift on here for having a go at Hibs a few years ago for not paying staff the living wage. It wasn't true, he just never bothered finding out before he went to the press.
His cafe on Easter Road was a miserable wee place. It's neither wonder it failed.
He seems to be a bit of an asshole.
It was hardly an obscure story it was everywhere. Politicians getting up to no good has always been news, big scandals of the past are still brought up now. But as others have said parties can't be held responsible for their actions, only for their handling of the matter

Scottish Young Greens
@scotyounggreens
The Scottish Government has made plans for a £10k mediation between anti-abortion protesters and those who have been subject to their harassment.
Alice Murray
@backoffscotland
was quoted in an article in The Scotsman, "As someone who has been through clinic harassment, I would be really interested to know who would want to sign up to this, who would want to speak to them as I know I wouldn’t."
The Scottish Young Greens believes this will provide anti-abortion protestors with another platform to target people who have used abortion services. This is a waste of money, time and will most likely cause more destress for users of these services
This comes in the wake of a recent consultation run by MSP
@GillianMacMSP
which received over 12,000 responses. The results are currently being analysed and will be used to form a bill for buffer zones around healthcare facilitates that provide abortion services

SNP CUTS CAUSE DRUG DEATHS DISASTER
Nicola Sturgeon’s government cut funding for drug and alcohol services from £114mto £53m 2007-2019 and slashed £47m (real terms) to alcohol and drug partnerships
I'm sure his insight will be fair and unbiased.
Quote:
His regular topics focus on Scottish and Glaswegian politics, identity, nationalism, socio-economic inequalities and political corruption. He has written a series of articles investigating allegations against the Scottish National Party (SNP) concerning an allegedly missing ring fenced independence referendum fund.
It's all about allocating spend, balancing priorities, I guess. The Peter & Paul thing you were talking about the other day. Don't complain if Peter loses out because you've allocated his money elsewhere, specially if Paul is someone you support.
Absolutely. I just don't think it's as simple as your earlier post implied. There will be many policy choices that result in more or less people dying. Look at Johnson's decision to delay lockdown, widely thought to have resulted in 21,000 more deaths than might have been the case otherwise.
Audit Scotland aren't quite so critical.

270 hours community payback for Margaret Ferrier, seems like a sensible sentence to me.
I don't personally think it would have been appropriate but it was certainly being mooted as an option among court reporters and a lot of the headlines are along the lines of 'avoids jail sentence' eg:
https://www.scotsman.com/news/politics/former-snp-mp-margaret-ferrier-avoids-jail-sentence-as-she-receives-community-payback-order-for-covid-trips-3841322
I'm mostly just appalled by her brass neck.
Of course the Scotsman is going to "demand" a jail sentence! It is catnip for their anti-SNP agenda. Doesn't matter that it makes no sense for this to be a custodial sentence, it is just red meat for the unionist readership. "Lock her up"! Where have we heard that before?
Why is it always snp for or against. I think everyone thought her swanning around the uk (in the gym restaurant ect after a test), was absolutely vile. This was pre vaccination when she could easily have cost lives. But bar a few people who only see party politics, all also found Cummings actions vile and the governments parties
It's just more proof that the political class think they are above us all
