Anyone watching the Rose Bowl?
I'm a little torn between the Badgers and Ducks. The Ducks have Chrome Helmets
Watching it, but can't decide who I want to win in all honesty.
Have a lot of work-based research associates based at Oregon State, so would feel dirty wishing their biggest rivals to win, but by the same token, I don't want to see Wisconsin do anything.
Will hopefully just watch it and enjoy it for the spectacle...
Oregan Touchdown.
Hope this continues!
Wisconsin 14-7 Oregon
This is going to be great!
Ducks fail first and punt it away! Advantage Wisconsin.
That is Russel Wilson, formerly of NC State is it not? :grr:
Jesus, that guy is FAST! 14-14!
14-14 cracking game
1000 yard game anyone?
21-21 :greengrin
21-21. Awesome.
missed it 28-21
(NOTE: dont go and get a glass of milk during Rose Bowl :greengrin)
28-28 at the half!
I'm conflicted, as I'm tired, but don't want to miss the rest of this!
Just had a look and found out Madonna is playing the half-time show at the Superbowl.
I will be going to collect the pizzas I think this year..!
Wisconsin 38 - Oregon 45. Very good game, very enjoyable again!
I'll probably record it too to be honest.
Best news to wake up to this morning: Jets keep Schottenheimer
Boom! All hail the return of the Michigan Wolverines to Bowl success!
Sugar Bowl Champions after an OT 23-20 win over Virginia Tech!
Go BLUE! :greengrin:greengrin:greengrin:greengrin
Just finished watching it, good win for Michigan but I thought the hokies were a bit unlucky as they looked the better team. Exiting game though
DH has been so quiet on here of late, I didn't quite realise that the Suckeyes lost out in the most major of Bowls, the Gator Bowl, 24-17 to Florida.
What an NCAA season - a Michigan BCS Bowl win, an OSU non-BCS Bowl defeat and a Wolverines victory over both Notre Dame and OSU to boot! What a turnaround season for us - well done insta-legend Brady Hoke!
Been a pretty **** week to be DH actually - both OSU and the NY Jets experience that crumbling feeling :wink:
Just seen that west Virginia scored 70 points last night!
Don't count your chickens just yet .
Throw in our glorious Hi-Bees and it's been ducking great :fuming:. To be fair I said all along that both teams would struggle this year. I'm still bemused by the Jets moves in the off season and all the crap going on behind the scene in Columbus ment this year was going to be a wash out. To be fair, if anything the biggest surprise is how good you guy's turned out this year. I thought we'd both suck this year. Don't get to used to it though cause I'm expecting things to get back to normal next year and for us to have a big, big season.
As for the Jets, People have to get real. In 20 years of following them the last few years are up there with the best of them and while this year was disappointing it wasn't to be unexpected. One things for sure though, it's going to be one hell of an off season, in Rex we trust :not worth.
We might not win the Superbowl next year or the year after but it will happen and when it does it will be all the more sweeter.
I understand entirely - I'd waited far too long to finally experience a Michigan win in The Game and it was well worth it in the end.
I'm not sure what to expect next year in the Big Ten in all honesty - been a good Bowl Campaign for the Big Ten clubs and barring a couple of stupid loses, any one of Michigan, Wisconsin or Michigan State could have been in line for the BCS Championship game, this coming week.
We can only get stronger, as a Bowl win will boost our recruiting strength. We also have a lot of key players who aren't all retiring seniors, so plenty to be optimistic about. I'm not sure what to expect from Ohio State either next year - your reputation is well and truly battered and I'm not sure Fickel is the guy to take you forward - guess it really depends what his staff can do in the off-season recruitment period.
I definitely don't expect much out of us this post-season - we can't keep doing what we've done against both Buffalo and Miami and not pay a price. If we fail to turn up in the first quarter of a playoff game, home advantage or not, against the likes of Baltimore or Pittsburgh, we can forget about it. I fully expect one of those clubs to be the AFC representative in the Superbowl, despite our current advantage!
Also not sure what to expect from us next year - we've seen some good young prospects start to feature this year, but our drafting and transfers really need to focus on sorting out our D, which is nowhere near good enough to be winning Superbowls. More looking forward to the NFC Playoffs than the AFC ones, as there are three really good teams with a shot at making the Championship game - especially looking forward to Detroit vs New Orleans this coming weekend!

Mother knows best :greengrin
Houston comfortably see off Cincinnati, followed by the Saints crushing the Lions in the Superdome. Atlanta @ NY Giants and Pittsburgh @ Denver tonight.
Cincinnati 10-31 Houston
Detroit 28-45 New Orleans
Falcons @ Giants about to get underway on SS2, followed by the Steelers trip to Tebow and the Broncos!
Do the Jets have a bye this week or do they just go straight into the Superbowl?
Falcons getting their asses kicked by the Giants after a slow start, I don't like the idea of them heading up to Green Bay!
That pass-rush of theirs is pretty scary.
Falcons and Matt Ryan have been unbelievably poor though!
Let's all do the Tebow! Boom!
Roethlisberger smashed and hurts his left ankle again!
He could be done - timeout and in pain!
Woohoo!!! Comes back out, no drive off of his back foot and throws a pick!
Surely he's done now!
Could be a big stop there by Pittsburgh, keeping the Broncos to a FG on the pick.
Pittsburgh 6-17 Denver
Good win again by the Saints last night v the lions, thought stafford + johnson played very well for detroit but they needed to put points on the board after winning those turnovers and didnt, Saints roll on to face the niners which should be alot tighter, fingers crossed already :greengrin the dirty birds failed miserably at NY today so all in all with the Hibees winning aswell:cb a Carlsberg weekend :greengrin
TBOW and the team he plays for up 17-6 :faint: i think they will miss dekker though, lets see if ben the beast plays on, tough call for tomlin i feel
I know "Big Ben" has the experience, but Pittsburgh cannot continue with him and his dodgy ankle!
He has no drive to throw the ball and can't get around to his RB's quick enough to hand it off.
Here come Denver again!
At the half:
Pittsburgh 6-20 Denver
Tebow Tebow Tebow!!!!
Put a Broncos-Giants double on this morning. With the Steelers 13/5 for the win now, I'll stick on £20 and I can't lose. Happy days.
I was really wanting the Lions to win last night and at the half things were looking good but I guess the class of the Saints rose to the top in the end.
That can't be ruled as anything OTHER than a fumble and it's a farce if they give it as an incomplete pass...
What a ****ing joke.
Shocking officiating.
Pittsburgh 13-20 Denver - the officials screwed the Broncos for that score!
I sincerely hope this is an efficient 4th quarter, as I'm ****ing knackered!
23-23 with just over 3 mins to go in the 4th... :cb
game is tied 23-23 at the 2minute warning, surely the broncos wont win another game in overtime will they :dunno: TBOW better get praying
BIG fumble, steelers in control now
Broncos have been screwed by the officials on more than one occasion this game. The backwards "incomplete" pass which wasn't given as a fumble and the facemask call on 2nd down in the last Denver possession which wasn't given.
I hate this rapist ****.
Damn it - Broncos knock the ball out of Roethlisberger's hands, but the canoot recovers.
And we go to overtime. I need to sleep goddammit!
Denver win. First throw of over time.
Denver @ New England it is!
What a play from Denver on the first play of OT to get the win!
Tebow Time ends next Saturday.
Wow. What an end to that game. Happy for Tebow!
denver WIN  good for the rest of the teams in the afc :greengrin
I can't believe they pulled it off! I had to get my beauty sleep as it was my first day back at work since before Christmas.
I think it would be really interesting to see how the broncos get on next season if they spend the summer on working with Tebow as they didn't get the chance last season due to the lockout
Tick Tock TEBOW TIME!! That was immense last night, I'm not the Steelers biggest fan and it was good to see the son of go.....I mean Tebow pull it out the bag after so much critiscm of his game.
Big Ben had a wonky foot, his receivers were below par, and they still managed to get it to overtime, I reckon the Pats will go to town on the Denver D next weekend, although aren't the Pats something like 31st in passing defence, or is it total defence this season? Might be worth a change in the game plan, although doubt Tebow is capable of being disciplined enough to pass more than 20 times a game.
Gutted our season is over (Lions fan), but didn't think this would be our year, we get our 1st round pick RB back next year, that's our achillies heel, no balance in the Offence (although who needs balance with Megatron right?, exciting times though.
NFC Championship game will be Packers v Saints, I'd take the Saints to win that one in a high scoring shootout, the Saints have something resembling a Defence, the Packers do not (take Woodson and Matthews out and they are awful on Defence).
Tried watching some college ball, BCS doesn't make sense to me, as an example, why do Boise State continually get overloooked for the Bowl Championship Game? Is it decided by strength of conference/division or something?
Amusingly, we have the worst pass defence in the league, yet are still the #1 ranked team in the AFC, which tells you just how unstoppable Brady and our offense have been this year! I'm a little bit apprehensive about next weekend, as Tebow's passing looks like it's always improving, but I think unlike the Steelers, we should get into their defense and put up some points, just as we did in Mile High last month.
I wouldn't rule out the 49'ers for the NFC Championship game quite yet - I agree the Packers look a certainty, but San Francisco have been impressive this year and will like their chances at home.
I was mightily impressed by the Lions this year and with the right additions, could well be challenging in the NFC next year, as the Packer's defense has looked very shaky as the season has gone on this year. Stafford is developing into a great young QB and I think Schwartz has the drive and passion Detroit fans are used to seeing!
Recording the BCS game tonight, I can't wait to watch it I will be wanting LSU to win
Wow.
Nothing more need be said really...
Game.Statement.
Oh Jesus - September 1, 2012 Kickoff classic - Michigan vs Alabama...
I think we'll take them :greengrin
Watched it last night, I didn't expect that either. To be fair to bama they basically shut down LSU offence but struggled in the red zone themselves. Both defenses are quality
I see the Jessies will be happy this morning with the news that Brian Schottenheimer has left the club though I doubt they'll be happy with the replacement in Tony Sporano who has never been a coordinator before and really struggled to develop Chad Henne at Miami.
RR has pretty much cleaned out the entire offensive coaching staff since they were gloriously dumped by Miami.
None of it will matter a jot unless he follows suit though - apart from a hapless (hopeless?) QB, RR and his mouth is the sole biggest issue with the NYJ's.
To true, to true. As the saying goes, they give you with one hand but then take away with the other. The only plus I can see is that he will work the OL back into shape and maybe bring Haley with him. Will be interesting to see the effect it has on Sanchez although I won't hold my breath. Who knows, maybe the Manning rumours are true :no way:.

Whatever happens this weekend against the Patriots, watching this guy confound all the critics has to be THE story of this season.
14-0 49ers and have the ball in Saints RED Zone
17-0 and the Saints turnover again! 4 times and its early in the 2nd
17-14 now game on
49ers just failed a 2 point conversion so it's a 5 point game with 2.11 to go and saints about to get the ball
Touchdown saints with a converted extra 2 points 3 point game 49ers need to score at least a field goal to stay in it. 1:37 to go
49ers TD with 9 seconds left what a game
Really enjoyed that. Quite like both teams so it was nice to watch a great match with no vested interests.
Pats starting well to say the least!
great game, well done to the niners , oh well always next year :agree:
Oh and 14 negative plays? :cb
Didnt stay up to watch the Pats game, i only watched the first few drives and i knew it was going to be a Pats win, I think Tebow will come back better next season. I hope he gets the chance. Packers V Giants tonight! i'm not confident TBH
Couldn't stay up so recorded it and watched it this morning.
Was delighted with how we played. 14 negative plays shows just how tuned in our defense were last night and I've run out of superlatives for Brady's absolutely sensational performance.
I don't think last night shows Tebow to be a bad QB. He didn't have a good game, but he's developed very well over the season - yeah, his spiral isn't pretty and he doesn't deal with pressure well, but the kid can scramble like nobody I've seen and can pick passes at will - his sheer determination to take his team forward is also to be applauded and I think he'll become one of the better QB's in the league.
Hopefully our team work with the same efficiency next week as if it IS the Ravens we face (as I suspect it should be), they'll be a much harder team to break down than the Broncos.

something tells me you enjoyed last night quite a bit!:greengrin
Tebow had a poor game last night, but to be fair to him his o-line didn't give him or his running backs any protection at all and the patriots d was very impressive. Contrast the protection he got last week against the Steelers to the protection he got this week, it was like night and day. That being said, some of his passes were horrible last night!
I was very impressed with the 49ers last night, their d is top notch and Gore is a beast. What has happened to Alex Smith, he's suddenly a different player to previous years. With the head coach they have and the intensity they displayed and the 1st q especially I wouldn't write the 49ers off against anyone left!
looking forward to the giants v packers game tonight!
Going pretty much how I thought it would so far, 20-10 Giants
Still feel sick after last nights game. Sometimes it's hard following hibs and the saints.
FFS :brickwall, What's going on with the Packers :grr:.
