Of course he was and we were all delighted, what’s that got to do with transfers? I like Youan, hope he stays as he’s a cracking player.

I wouldn’t describe Boyle as a wide forward when playing in the 352 last season. He played up front and got loads of his goals in the box getting on the end of things. He was every bit a striker from December onwards. Youan similar prior to injury.
The squad is always going to be bodies down at this point in time, it’s just natural. It’s obviously short if our season starts tomorrow. I’d like us to be adding fairly quickly now, especially with the Vente money in, but I think there has to be a bit of realism about what you have in place at this point in time.

An injury to Bowie and we’re losing wide players to play up front so we’d be short on wide players then. You can’t dress it up, we need strikers. It’s not ideal but I’m sure they’re working on it.
[QUOTE=Real Emerald;7986925]But Boyle hasn’t been playing wide forward ages. Neither was Youan before his injury. Our width comes from our wing backs.
I can agree we need additional depth up front but I don’t understand your reference to Boyle being a wide player when he’s not being doing that job for ages.
[QUOTE=B.H.F.C;7986927]I really don’t see your argument, we simply need strikers, it’s not even a debate. Boyle is a brilliant goal scorer who was in the team last season along with the 2 other strikers that have left and need replacing. What’s so difficult to understand,
[QUOTE=Real Emerald;7986930]I just don’t understand this reference to wide forwards when they’ve not been playing as wide forwards for some time now. Nothing would be changing if Bowie got an injury, Boyle has been playing as a centre forward both in his absence and when he’s back. We wouldn’t be losing any wide players as you put it.
[QUOTE=Real Emerald;7986930]If Myko and Gayle were still here, they’d be on the bench to start the season. Our first choice pairing is Boyle and Bowie and they’re still here. Until we sign reinforcements we have Youan on the bench.
It’s not exactly panic stations given it’s no even July.
Wouldn’t think we are one of the Scottish clubs interested in Armstrong, hertz maybe? …

I’ve not been following the thread much, or what’s been happening this window, but the fact the Kensall is away is a huge plus point.
Not sure I’m ready to say I have confidence in the club getting things right, but it’s the first summer window since the Gordon’s took over that I expect us to improve.
Most transfer windows since they took over have left us in a weaker position so if can avoid that il be relatively happy.
Exactly. Where we are, at this point in time, we have three good options to play up front. It was fairly obvious we decided to manage Bowie through to the end of the season. Unless he gets injured again, we’re going to see a lot more of him once he’s had a pre season. By the time Midtjylland comes round, I’m almost certain we’ll have another striker in. What we have, I don’t think is really short, when you’re still in June.
Whilst I am hoping that something is announced this week before we jet off to the training camp, I have a sneaking suspicion that anything involving a significant outlay in transfer fees may be held back until after the 1 July, so that it doesn't impact this year's financial statements.
[QUOTE=Real Emerald;7986930]I think you'll find that everyone agrees with you, literally no one is saying we don't. Most of us are comfortable with Boyle and Bowie as our main strikers going in to the season. Most of us know we'll be signing players soon. The only debate really is around the level of comfort we all feel about where we are at.
For me it's not a concern, I'm fully confident we are actively working on bringing players in right now.
Kris Moore who trialed at Hibs is set to sign for Morton.
He’s told the club at every window since the initial one he joined permanently he was looking to leave, even in the January after he signed.
That indicates to me he doesn’t want to be here a lot more than celebrating a derby win with a corner flag.
Scott Brown celebrated winning the league cup with us, he still didn’t want to be there. As per his transfer request.
Dundee boss Steven Pressley is set to run the rule over Monterrey trio Jorge Landeros, Jose Urias and Oscar Soto.🔵⚪️
I'm sure Dundee got a few of their guys over last season.
