Public hearings will be fun. Trumps twitter will be very busy.

On the news tonight, I saw the U.S. president took time out of his schedule to call a phone in radio show hosted by Nigel Farage, using the time to endorse Boris Johnson.

Trumps answer will be to bomb Home Depot and Walmart.
Trump has announced that he is well on with building his brilliant wall in the state of Colorado.

My decision as the previous Scottish Government Energy Minister to consent the Aberdeen Offshore wind farm was challenged in courts by Donald Trump.
He lost.
I am delighted to see his organisation must now pay our legal costs of £225,000.

Bush and Reagan with 17 prison sentences?
I watched the former US ambassador to the Ukraine giving evidence to the impeachment inquiry on the BBC parliament channel today. What she had to say was utterly damning, given even more force by Trump's childish tweets about her WHILE she was giving evidence.
Its hard to understand how any American with even the most basic grasp of morality can still support this excuse for a human being :bitchy:
Strange unplanned visit to the hospital today for Trump. His team say everything is fine.

He's infinitely worse than Richard Nixon in many ways but he's maybe hoping to surpass Tricky Dickie and achieve what even he couldn't - to quote Monty Python:-
John Cleese : So see what's in page eight. Nixon's had an ersehole transplant.
Michael Palin : Well, have you've...eh...you've seen the stop Press though? The ersehole's rejected him.
He's hoping to outdo Richard Nixon but my money's on the ersehole.

Like we're seeing with the Tories now, these ******* are pretty much making a sport to see how far they can go while still getting away with it.
We're seeing openly criminal, openly offensive behviour going completely unchecked.
It's a completely bonkers situation.
Just watching Gordon Sondland dump Trump right in it on CNN just now. Would be amazing if republicans can stick with him after this.

President Donald Trump is impeached
The Speaker of the House of Representatives bangs her gavel, confirming that Donald Trump is now the third US president in history to be impeached.
The vote on the first of two articles - abuse of power - went 230 in favour, 197 against.
Mr Trump now faces trial in the Senate.
The whole thing is farcical. Divided between party lines. The head of the Senate (a Republican) has already declared that he'll be conferring with Trumps legal aid.
Yes, he's been impeached by a majority democrat House of Representatives. But any trial by the Senate will be greatly fixed in his favour from the very start.
There is no democratic accountability in America anymore.
Trump "jokes" that deceased Democratic Representative may be in hell:
https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/polit...cid=spartandhp
https://news.sky.com/story/trump-imp...-vote-11909292
Donald Trump faces a trial in the Senate after the House of Representatives voted in favour of triggering the next stage of impeachment.
The House voted largely on party lines, with 228 Democrats voting in favour, and one Democrat joining 192 Republicans to vote against sending the charges on.
Energy saving light bulbs are to blame for the way that Trump looks.
In December, the Trump administration gutted Obama-era standards on energy-saving lightbulbs. The measures mandate a gradual phasing out of incandescent bulbs, which Trump blames for his often carrot-like hue. “I always look orange. And so do you! The light is the worst.”
It's hard to think of a more appropriate word for this sort of stuff than insane.
Just watching the press conference on Trump's middle east peace initiative and am still waiting to hear what's in it for the Palestinians. The sceptic in me thinks it's a prelude to bulldozing what's left of Palestine off the face of the earth once the inevitable backlash comes from the Palestinians who will never accept the terms of peace plan drawn up without them.
Looking like a big win for Pete Buttigieg in Iowa. A moderate like him would be a good option for the democrats.

Acquitted.
Was always going to happen the whole thing was a hoax like Russiagate.
You have to wonder if this whole show was a big pantomine to ensure that Trump got re-elected.
Trump's approval rating is now through the roof. What was Nancy and the rest thinking? How did they ever think they would successfully impeach a president on the third hand -he said - she said evidence that they presented?
Well it's all done now.
I feel sorry for the people who believe the Democrat news outlets, they get led down the garden path time and time again, whipping themselves up into a frenzy only for everything that they get told turns out to false.
Say what you want about Trump but he will milk this for all its worth and then some more. He will rub the Democrats nose in their own mess like a naughty puppy who has pee'd on the new carpet.
Not surprised that the forums resident nutjob would be all over this. Absolute ****ing space cadet.
The whole circus could hardly be described as a fair trial. Witnesses and evidence not heard and a partisan 'jury'.
The ruling should really satisfy nobody. For Trumps opponents he lives to fight another day, for his supporters there will always be that cloud hanging over him.
Didn't really follow it but in what planet or democracy is stopping witnesses appearing fair?
Seems mental to me

It all looked like a pretty pitiful charade from start to finish.
For a country who likes to lecture the world about democracy and freedom, it is interesting to see a system in action that is utterly impotent regarding holding people who commit the most serious crimes in public office to justice.
Rather odd tactics by the Democrats.
They must have known the outcome before they started.
Now they have handed Trump a ‘victory’.
Seems to me that Pelosi and her crew are almost as bonkers as Trump.
I dont particularly trust your expectations so I find it difficult to agree with you.
How would anyone know about Trumps actions given no witnesses or evidence was allowed? Does that seem like a "hoax" to you (dont answer, I sort of know the kind of disingenuous you adopt.)

Not at all. It was necessary to make all these corrupt Republicans put their names to the crime.
There is a need to “do the right thing” sometimes even if the political outcome isn’t in your favour. Now all these Republicans for ever have it on their record that they acquitted Trump in a sham hearing. With the exception of Romney of course.
And there will be some voters who watched the testimonies and finally saw Trump’s corruption.
Vindman sacked for telling the truth.
According to reports, the German extreme right wing racist murdererer held Trump in very high esteem.
I concur. A deeply flawed individual with some very worrisome opinions. The fact they hang around such sub forums on a football message board whilst contributing very little/nothing to the main football discussions is also strange behaviour.
A substandard troll in need of some form of help/counselling. I really hope they seek this out.
Bernie Sanders looking unstoppable for the democratic nomination.

Yes, Biden seems toast, none of the rest of the original field have got a lot of traction and Bloomberg seems to have bombed as soon as he had to actually engage outside of running ads. I read an article the other day that described Bloomberg as a man who "had brought a wallet to a knife fight". :greengrin
Bloomberg going after Sanders this week very heavily in his ads. The centre of the party need to pick someone pretty quickly if they are to stand a chance. I think Bloomberg might be their best option just because he can self fund the whole campaign.

No, he simply lost voters. He is getting less votes than he got in 2016. His base of young voters are great at turning up for rally’s but when it come to showing up to vote, just like in this country, not so much. Sanders himself has been attacking the party he wants the nomination from, so you can see why the voters turned against him.
And it is with black voters he is weakest with and nobody ever called them the establishment.

That article just says that people who oppose him are standing against him. That’s politics. You’re claiming they would rather lose to trump than have Sanders as the nominee. That’s not true.
Sanders is losing and that’s down to him given the advantages he has enjoyed as front runner, having more money and a bigger ground operation. Fact is, socialism is just not that popular and if you can’t sell it to democrat voters then he has no chance of selling it in a general election.

Strange view re inflicting damage on themselves.
I see it as they are looking to avoid inflicting that damage by not wanting him as their candidate as they know he wouldn’t beat Trump.
To me there is parallels to Labour and Corbyn but Labour was too damn stubborn to listen.
I'm not altogether sure that's true. The RCP averages for Biden v Trump and Sanders v Trump are currently Biden+5.4 and Sanders+4.9. Not that different. I'm not sure how it plays out in the swing states this time but last time Sanders looked a much better bet in the rust belt states like Ohio and Wisconsin that Clinton managed to lose.
After a few months of Trump portraying him as a commie then the choice will seem like a choice between two extremes and people may decide to stick with the devil they know.
Biden represents a boring return to pre Trump days. A centrist candidate is the best bet in my opinion.
I think Biden will be a useless candidate but I think they will keep away from big stump speeches and do lots more interviews etc which suit him better. He’s a known quantity and people seem to like him even if they think he’s useless or don’t agree with his policies.
