Personally i thought the new material was great, totally different direction for him a lot more soul in the songs but he's got the voice for it. He mixed up a couple of his older songs and they sounded great too.

Had to give my ticket away for tomorrow night due to impending birth of child. Have seen him loads of times from his Arab Strap days to his Bill Wells collaboration, and never been disappointed.

Went to Brew at the Bog over the weekend up in Inverness. Admiral Fallow, Kid Canaveral, King Creosote, Roddy Woomble, Prides etc for £35 with loads of different beers, a fully stocked gin bar, good food, absolute gem of a festival.
James to play The Hydro on November 15th as part of a UK tour that includes the Albert Hall.
Not exactly a gig, but based around the music of Martyn Bennett, I'm going to the Tramway in Glasgow to see Grit.
