Been up all night for this one!
Kownacki vs. Arreola.Anyone up for it?
Joshua V Ruiz to be held in Saudi Arabia, must be some amount of cash being thrown at that, can't see Sky being too chuffed with Hearn
Anyone got any insight into the Josh Taylor fight? i.e. when and where.
I see the Inoue/Donaire fight has been announced and Prograis has started releasing training clips so I expect an announcement soon
No danger will it be on an undercard, think the Sauerlands know the biggest chance of a huge crowd is to have over here, Prograis would make too much of a fuss if it was in Glasgow and London is probably too far for a Scottish contingent to travel so Manchester makes sense.
I would image that if Sky take up the option to show it that we could see a few Matchroom fighters on the bill to try and get a bigger crowd or they may even double up on finals, who knows
Just what I've been told from someone who is pals with JT
Actually scrap all that, now looks as though today Prograis has pulled out and has started a court case to be released from his WBSS contract due to missed deadline dates
In this day of dodging fights what a refreshing fight it seemed
I see BJS has signed with Matchroom, sets him up form some huge fights with the Middle and Supermiddle weights they have on their platforms, about time too, he's a marmite character, but when he is switched on and can be bothered I rate him as one of the best if not best fighter we have over here
Lochend Boxing Club trolling Regis Prograis on Twitter is hilarious.
Looks like Prograis v Taylor could be back on. Had a feeling it was more posturing from their camp looking to ensure it wouldn’t end up at at the Hydro.
26th October at the o2 is what’s being banded about on twitter.
Kash Farooq fight is on BBC Scotland tonight, worth a watch
Kovalev v Yarde was some scrap.
Yarde had him rocking in the 8th and it looked well and truly on. Kovalev looked out on his feet but rallied and in the end was just a bit too good and secured a late KO.
Yeah good fight. Yarde has been too passive imo in the first 7, but it became clear that he was holding some back for the 2nd half of the fight. Dunno how Kovalev didn’t go down in the 8th and his corner were threatening to pull him out but he recovered well. His jab is superb.

Looking forward to seeing Loma tonight, he's worth £20 on his own, the fact that this is on tonight is the only thing keeping me sane after today's result
Looking forward to this tonight after Fir Park today.
Taylor is now confirmed for the O2 on the 26th October :aok:
Martinez shouldn’t be getting such an easy ride after that. You can’t punch someone once they’re on the canvas. Edwards was down for a couple of seconds before he hit him. Disgraceful stuff.
What were the sky commentators on about there. Povetkin won that easily.
Josh in the ring for the official announcement. Got a great reception. Ricky Burns on the bill too.
I so want Campbell to win but I’ve got a tenner on Lomachenko to win in the first round at 25/1.
Campbell is well in this fight.
Good fight, Loma is seriously a magician, hope he doesn't move up in weight though and get done by a bigger guy with less talent
Outstanding performance from Campbell I thought that would have been over in 4 but he showed real guts - Loma still the clear winner though
Great effort from Campbell. Lomachenko is a great fighter, but Luke held his own there.
Usyk popping up behind Arum is my moment of the night, I love the guy, he's total radge :faf::faf:
Lomo comfortably beating a guy 2 inches taller and a 5 inch reach advantage is rediculous, also hope he doesn't move up again.
Inoue fights at Bantam, 118lbs
The lowest weight Lomachenko has ever fought at professionally is Featherweight, 126lbs.
I can’t ever see that fight happening, even at a catchweight, considering Loma is currently looking to clean up at Lightweight, 135lbs.
A superfight with Gervonta Davis at 130lbs is the one I’m holding out for.
Any word on tickets for Josh yet?
Taylor tickets bought via the 02 pre-sale. Great seats too. Not long now!
Chisora telling everyone to **** off at the press conference if he’s not the main event. He wants more money and accuses the Taylor fight for the Ali trophy as being meaningless and they should fight in ****ing GLASGOW 😂
Personally, I think we should have Del negotiating Brexit.
That was awkward. Nobody knew how to react. Hearn, who I like, bottled it big time and was looking for help from Smith. WTF! Well done to Prograis for giving some back and also Josh for staying classy and having a sly dig.
Watching the interviews on IFL after the conference, Hearn hinted that if the fans demanded it, Sky (in other words him) would need to look at who’s the main event. He also mentioned that 8-9000 tickets had sold already which apparently means its heading for a sell out.
Weekend is all sorted for the Taylor fight, I'm really looking forward to it.
I'm amazed fury managed to continue with that cut last night, theres no way he could have seen what he was doing
Over 12k tickets sold for the Josh Taylor fight. Heading for a sell out.
Jospeh Parker out of the Chisora fight with ‘illness’.
GGG scraped through an absolute war last night - great viewing.
Errol Spence Jr in a bad way after flipping his ferrari, apparently wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car
Just watched usyk debut at heavyweight he won by tko in the 8th. Impressed with his movement and his hand speed yes I know he has always had amazing movement but he has been out of the ring for 1 year. Looking forward to seeing who he fights next
Sad to hear that Patrick Day has passed away aged 27 following his defeat by Charles Cornell at the weekend.
I am ambivalent on boxing. On a rational level, the thought of two guys (now women too) trying to punch each other unconscious is morally indefensible, in my opinion. On the other hand, their skill and courage is admirable, and I watch some big fights. It's something I know I shouldn't enjoy, but I sometimes do. If boxing was banned, I couldn't offer an ethical objection; it seems almost every medical association in the world wants it stopped. The long term effects of boxing can be devastating. Then there's the promoters and others making big money via young men putting their health and lives at risk.
It’s fight week!
Who’s all heading down to the big smoke?
Down early Saturday, 0830 train with half the pans on it, back Sunday afternoon.
What time is the Taylor fight scheduled to start?
Might be wrong, but is this the first time that he isn’t favourite to win? Bookies have Prograis as favourite. Tempted to put some cash on Josh to win as the prices look decent.
Taylor made weight, Prograis had to take his boxers off to make the weight
Why they don't enforce the wearing of protective headgear in boxing is something I really cannot understand.
It's not going to take anything away from the spectacle of boxing, the boxers will still be able to knock lumps out of each other but it will help to save lives.
I understand the argument put forward which is the boxers know what they are getting themselves in for but I don't think that's enough of an excuse for the governing bodies not to make it as safe as possible.
There's evidence that headguards don't actually prevent brain injury and concussion. They reduce cuts and bruises so the aesthetics are better but studies have shown that the bigger target means boxers attempt more head shots. Secondly it gives a false sense of security and thirdly the shaking motion when a punch connects with the guard can also increase the risk of brain injury.
There's various studies that show that wearing headguards offers no noticeable decrease in the risk of brain injury and in fact shows a small drop in the occurence. These studies were a huge part of the reasoning when the AIBA removed headguards from men's amateur boxing. The flip side is there is a big increase in broken noses, cuts and other superficial traumas.
Fair enough. I just thought it may have been a suggestion since I knew that they used to wear headgear in amateur boxing although I'm sure I read that this has now stopped and presumably it was for the reasons stated above.
I don't really know what the answer is then except to ban blows to the head or to ban boxing altogether, neither of which is likely to happen.
Does anyone know any pubs in Edinburgh definitely showing the fight tonight?
Fly half are definitely showing it as well
Cheers guys.
Robbie's and Theatre Royal definitely have it on.
Taylor to win on points 2/1 on Skybet
Really entertaining heavyweight fight. Chisora just bulldozed Price.
My favourite weight class.
Got £50 on Prograis at 11/10 but really want Josh to win.
Great guy, buzzing for it
Come on Josh.
Come on Taylor!
