And media freinds touting major takeovers again 😂

They need a cash injection of at least £100m to be in the same financial position as Celtic. Did David Murray not have a series of rights issues that he ended up having to underwrite himself.
New name will be the Rangers 2012ers.
Can’t help but feel the timing of this story is very convenient.
Large share issues, manager in deep trouble, miles behind Celtic in and off the field……but here comes the American billionaires to make us super rich…..but first buy the shares you gullible hordes.
Although as I’m typing this, maybe the share issue is for the Americans?? Hope not
Yes, it says talks are at an ‘advanced stage’. Time will tell if the takeover gets completed and what its consequences might be. They need to do something, in order to compete for the title, as their current financial state isn’t good at all.
I hope the deal promises to be superb for them…..then falls through. :cb
I'm actually surprised that there hasn't been US interest in a club that qualifies for Europe before now
Surely they can’t buy Rangers, if they own Leeds
Back in their liquidation days there was some interest in buying the assets but I seem to recall threats being made by the True Blue fraternity that only owners that suited them would be allowed.
That might have cooled any moves from any sensible business investors.
DR usually crap “major cash injection which would then fund a spending splurge in the summer”
“War chest” and “financial money men” and next no doubt🤣🤣🤣
BBC article says
"The prospective owners would acquire more than 50% of the Rangers shares while taking on the debt"
BBC News - Rangers takeover involving 49ers could be completed by June

Which if true, presumably paves the way for a Black Knights takeover of Hibs?

SF 49ers are lot older than The Rangers.

My first reaction when I read this yesterday was that it was another bout of pre-season ticket sales guff. Hopefully it is, I want to see those ***** bankrupt and gone in my lifetime.
If the report I read is correct the Yanks will buy shares from existing shareholders. While this may trigger a run for the door by a few relieved people it’ll give Rangers zilch.
Guess I'll not be spending any money going to see the 49ers next time I'm out in the Bay Area next time I'm out that way with work then! :greengrin
Looking at it impartially I can see why they'd be a club someone with cash is looking to buy. They have guaranteed crowds of 50k every week and an easy route into atleast the Europa league every year.
They have one real competitor (albeit one that is significantly better and bigger than them and have been for the best part of 20 years).
