I'm more disappointed about this than most seem to be. I thought we were just starting to see the best of him.

This Dutch journalist seems to be indicating that Vente to Heerenveen is done:

If true, I'm sad we're losing a player of his quality. I just hope we receive a good amount (hopefully all up front) with a sell on and use that money to secure resigning Bushiri or bringing Triantis in permanently.
It's one thing to break our singing record, but if we want to compete at a higher level, we'd have to be looking at our wages too.
It is a strange one because he really was struggling come the end of his Hibs career. I thought he started really well and looked a real quality player. However, after his brilliant last season in Holland if he wasn't a Hibs player currently there would be absolutely no chance of us signing him.
The Vente situation is win-win for us really. He wants away, he barely played for us last season so we won't miss him, a decent fee, and a decent wage off the books.
if the recently quoted fee of 1m euros is correct then it really isn’t much of a win-win. Barely recouping the fee we paid for him and yet he has become a proven goal scorer in the top Dutch league. Everyone here was suggesting a fee of at least £2-3m for him a few months ago and that would certainly be more realistic.
We might be able to use any fee we get for him to put towards Rocky and Triantis but even if we did get them back that would only see us in the same place that we were at the end of last season. In fact in a weaker place if Hoilett didn’t return.
Agree, though still think it’s not a great fee considering the level that he’s proved himself at. All in all he hasn’t been a great deal for us considering his wages and how he performed for us. Ok it’s good to at least get his original fee back but think that many had hoped that he would go for quite a lot more. Still think there’s hope that the 1m fee quoted is wrong as only a few days ago there was a quoted fee of 2m.
I suppose that’s really the point I’m making in if we signed him as a replacement for Rocky I think a lot of us would be disappointed in he wouldn’t be a signing that would improve us , not saying he’s a bad signing but certainly one I wouldn’t be overly excited about either . I’m sure some would have concerns about him missing over 30 games last season in all .

Bojan Miovski has reportedly been told he can leave Girona this summer
Not within our budget but what a signing he would be.
I'd imagine he will get a crack at another foreign team.

Been on the Sunderland forum again ( on it a lot ) 🤢 and the general opinion from their fans is they should hang onto Triantis and have a look at him . In saying that they are getting linked with midfielders Isaac Price and along with a host of other clubs one called Habib Diarra …

We need a squad though and as much as Hoilett will not be a regular starter he’d be a valuable team member.
I still hold out plenty hope that Hoilett and Rocky stay - until we see the bye bye thanks for the memories Instagram post then there’s every chance we are still in talks.
Considering how poor and anonymous he was for us, I’ll be doing cartwheels to recoup what we paid (just like with the Melkersen deal).
The excuses made for him by many on here is mind boggling, he never looked that interested after his good start and missed absolute sitters under SDG. Could barely last longer than sixty minutes to boot.
The thing about him not getting the right quality balls was bull**** as Myziane didn’t have a problem and reeks of throwing team mates under the bus. Him being expected to drop deep and put a bit of effort in wasn’t playing him out of position - look at Gayle and where he starts in the move for his Tynie goal.
Also worth remembering that the same place we were at the end of last season was comfortably the second best team in Scotland and close to matching Celtic. If €1m gets us back to the position we were then then it’s a truly fantastic deal.
Hoped we would have had some movement by now. McGrath unveiled at least
