Moray remains in level 3 for an extra week
Glasgow, Decision to KEEP GLASGOW in LEVEL 3 for a week
No unnecessary travel into and out of both council areas (What does that mean for the cup final fans?)
Can people in level 3 areas travel to level 2 areas?
The available capacity for Euros matches is 12,000, with social distancing set at 1.5m. The Scottish FA applied to government for 2000 fans at the cup on the same operational plan.
Given Uefa building works are ongoing at Hampden, the available capacity for the final is actually between 8,000-12,000, with the realistic number a lot closer to the 8,000. Again, that's at 1.5m distancing.
But the government has insisted on two metres. According to the Scottish FA, the government only revealed this after their application was submitted on the basis of 1.5m. There is some tension between the two around this.
At 2m, the maximum number of seats falls to between 4,000 and 5,000. So a long way short of the initial 52,000.
All of this, ultimately, means that the 600 tickets secured is between 12% and 15% of the available capacity.
I think we should be grateful that we are being allowed any fans as Glasgow is in level 3

If all of these new cases are being linked to the ‘Indian variant’ - given the supposed shutdown in International travel, how did it get here? Why, seeing what was happening in India, haven’t we immediately and fully stopped anyone coming from India instantly?!
It's a real shame for people in Glasgow, I feel genuinely sorry for them.
However I am pleased to see a harder line taken locally this time around, that applies anywhere not just Glasgow. It suggests lessons have actually been learned and that can only be a good thing when considering a bigger picture.
-- The UK Government gave two weeks warning that travel from India would be banned. That was an utterly ludicrous thing to do, as it was obvious what would happen, with people desperate to travel before the ban came into force.
-- There's been a massive increase in Covid cases in Glasgow's G41 and G42 postcodes, just when things were looking so much better.
Now, let's see if anybody can make the connection between the two...
Is there any evidence that this new variant is causing extra hospitalisation?
They dithered before taking the decision, they never gave 2 weeks notice, it was 5 days official notice to return before India was added to the red list.

Agree even that was ludicrous.
Hope your feeling better and on the mend now.
England carrying on as planned with easing restrictions. It’s not often I agree with that clown, but he’s clearly explained why they don’t need to continue with certain restrictions in the worst affected areas.
Travel is not permitted between level 2 and level 3 areas. I expect to see a ring of steel round Glasgow in order to stop travellers getting into the city for Rangers' title celebrations tomorrow. This must be continued next week to prevent the city's inhabitants leaving in order to get an indoors drink.
Police Scotland - we're relying on you.
The 12 week gap between vaccines is being lowered to 8 weeks. I’m pretty sure that will apply in Scotland as well as it’s came from the jcvi.
It seems to have gone quiet on new vaccines being used in the UK. Thought another couple were imminent?
