I noticed that myself - Max releasing Kapernick all of a sudden when Scott was needing a QB. Still wiped the floor with him though! :greengrin
Merry Christmas!

LOL. Typical fantasy poor timing. Kap did nothing for me, I drop him and this happens.
In another league I have Russell Wilson. I bench him for Flacco and he has a career game (this was week 16). I put Wilson back in my line-up instead of Flacco, yeah I got about 7 points.
Anyone interested in a weekly playoff fantasy football league? I heard about it on the radio this morning and will set something up if people are interested. Here is what I know in a nutshell but I need to read more. The format I heard about was one where you pick any that is playing that week but you it's like a survivor league, once you have used a player you can't use them again. Multiple people can own the same players, it's not like a yearly game where each player is rostered only once. I will look into it and let you know. Let me know if you are interested.
EDIT: I just read about the ESPN version and it's not like a survivor league (that must be a different vendor) but it sounds fun. Here are the basic rules copied from the site:
The excitement of fantasy football doesn't end when the regular season wraps up. With Gridiron Playoff Challenge, you can continue the fun throughout the NFL postseason, with the additional risk that the pool of available players shrinks as their teams are eliminated.
The basic gameplay is similar to the regular Gridiron Challenge game: You get $50 million in fantasy money to build the roster that scores the most fantasy points as possible each week. The team with the most points at the end of the playoffs wins a great prize.
However, there are a couple of wrinkles to this playoff version of the game that players should know when setting rosters.
First off, there are three scoring "weeks" in which you can adjust your roster: wild-card weekend, divisional playoff weekend and conference championship weekend. Thus, your roster for wild-card weekend should just include players with teams in those games. There's no reason to have players on your roster from the top two seeds in either conference during this week. You can put them in there for divisional playoff week.
Second, the roster you set for conference championship weekend lasts all the way to the Super Bowl. So not only are you predicting which players will score the most points in the conference title games, but you should also take into account which players you think will end up playing for the Lombardi Trophy.
So how well can you pick out the best fantasy performers given the constraints of a salary cap while also potentially predicting who's going to win the Super Bowl?

You can create as many personas as you like but each one is only allowed to create a single entry. If you want to submit multiple entries then you need to join the league multiple times.
Awesome! This is a really good way to introduce yourself to the world of daily fantasy football. It's not exactly the same but the format is very similar. I think this is more similar to how fantasy football (soccer) runs back home? Not too sure since it's been about 20 years since I played that! What's great is you can't blame the draft, you can't blame anything other than your crappy selections.
I am in, lets do this!
And straight away a player is injured!
If I get the time I'll do this before the weekend!
I'm in :aok:
Are we only picking players in the teams playing this weekend?
Joined, though I wasn't prompted for any password Max
It looks easy. $50million gets you mostly marquee players.
Maybe when you click on the direct link you don't need the password? Just a guess. I checked again and there is definitely a password specified.
Yes, you only pick players that are actually playing...unless you want to give the rest of us a head-start?
It looks easy but it's all about balance. I haven't checked out the costs yet but I've played daily fantasy before and even though every player is affordable you can't buy all the best players within budget. That means figuring out which studs to trust and which lower-tier players will possible explode. I'm assuming the player selection is just asa tricky with this but maybe it's easier. I will need to check that out.
That's only true for the Conference Titles. You get to manipulate your roster through the first three weeks but whatever your line-up is before the SuperBowl, that's what it will remain. That means if you pick a team of players who play for teams that don't make it to the SuperBowl, you stand to score zero points that week.
Sorry, getting ahead of myself!
When I first set it up, I misread the brief entirely as I thought you were trying to pick players for a single team (i.e., no scope to change it throughout) and you were having to try and pick players you thought would last the distance.
As a result, I have a whopping 44 points for this week :greengrin
Remember that this week you're setting your line-up for the Conference Games and the Superbowl! Pick wisely.
Highest point scorer for the week - really wish I had been paying more attention now in week 1 :greengrin
This is where it gets tricky! Basically you can't hedge your bets and pick best player available anymore and you're choosing from the two teams you think will make the Super Bowl?
Or do you just go for best player available spread out over the four teams and hope it's enough over the fortnight?
Or go for the two teams you think will make the Super Bowl with just a couple of decent players from the other two (eg. Lacy and Gronkowski) ?
My head hurts :greengrin
Forgot to set mine for last week!
Either tactic could win the whole thing. Spreading over all 4 teams guarantees you that you will be represented in the SB but that doesn't guarantee you points (thanks, Jordy Nelson!). I haven't set my line-up yet but I suspect I will go with players from two teams rather than hedging my bets. Go Big or Go Home!
My line up is set and being 2nd bottom I'm no bothered about telling everyone. I've went with Patriots and Seahawks players apart from my 2nd RB as NE appear to not have a running game and the selection of Blount just there was a mistake.
I know what I'm calling my team next season :rotflmao:
