Nisbet couldn’t lace a young Deeks boots.

If Celtic wanted Nisbet and were willing to meet Hibs asking price ,I'm assuming they would have to sign him before the European games kick off? If Hibs play him in a European tie in guessing he couldn't play for another club in another European competition? Or am I way off the mark?
Maybe it’s simply not seeing Nisbet in the flesh so it’s been hard to see his overall game but I’m kind of in the camp of take the money and run.
Not just because that would be a ridiculous return on investment in one year but for the fact that I’m still a bit ‘jury out’ on the lad.
Sure he scored 18 goals and no doubt contributed significantly to our third place finish….I’m just not convinced that if he stays he will either replicate or improve.
Totally just a hunch more than anything but if we could get £4m and replace with Shankland for a tenth of that then I would be very satisfied with that kind of business.
I'd be happy if we got Shankland in as a Nisbet replacement. Reckon he would work well with Doidge. If we could have them 2, Gullan and bring in another option possibly on loan, that would do us I think
It's not great for UTD that he's entering his last year, unless they can get him to sign a longer deal with a release clause they risk losing him for nothing, or selling him this window and getting a decent fee for him. If he hopes to get back into the Scotland squad I'd imagine he has to be somewhere he's both playing and scoring goals.

None of the following played today
Cadden
Mackie (although is in one of the photos)
Doidge
Doig
Nisbet
Hallberg
Tom James
On the move or recovering from injuries?
Cadden and Mackie were injured at the tail end of the season so I imagine they’re building up fitness.
Doig a Got an injury that ruled him out of 21s but never thought it would be lengthy? On the move?
Doidge - Odd one unless he’s injured
Nisbet - Extra time off with being away I’d imagine
Hallberg - Presumably leaving especially with JDH signing.
James - Many probably forgot he was our player. Surely on his way out.
Nisbet getting a hard time from some Hibs supporters. Given you reckon Riordan was 5 times the player Nisbet is, lets compare facts.
Riordan was a great player for Hibs and was blessed with great natural football gifts.
A good player at Hibs by 20 he signed for Celtic at 23 but couldn't make the step up and returned to Hibs after playing only 24 league games and scoring 5 league goals in a little over 2 seasons.
By the age of 28 he left Hibs and barely played at any level again.
No team appear to have offered in excess of £500k for him during his career.
He played 3 times for Scotland scoring no goals.
Played 347 games in his career scoring 124 goals.
Nisbet was a good player at 21 and will expect to be a good player for at least 8 more seasons.
He is hungry to progress and is doing all he can to impress teams at a level above Hibs. From his record it is clear he is improving every season
Hibs have already received a bid of £2-3 million for him.
He has played 6 games for Scotland scoring 1 goal and played at the Euros.
Has to date played 196 games in his career scoring 86 goals.
Despite all of the above you believe Nisbet is 20% of the player Riordan was!
It just doesn't stack up.
Riordan was a better player than Nisbet up to the age of 23 but between that and 32 Nisbet will be well ahead of Riordan in terms of a career, matches played, goals scored, International football and any other measurable statistic you can come up with. Not so exciting in those early years but ultimately much better.
There is a St Johnstone fan account on Twitter posting that there are rumours that McCart has had a medical at Hibs? Not sure where these rumours are circulating tbh?
If it's £4m+ for Nisbet I can't help feel that we would do well to take it. That being said we would need to be ambitious again with his replacement. As others have said a Shankland would be great if possible. Not sure who else is about in the lower divisions like Nisbet or Shankland were a few seasons ago either.
Even after the Pars cut we have made a healthy profit. Shankland is 25 and I think he would be a very good replacement for Nisbet if and when he moves on. I think 350-400k would secure his services given he’s in the final year of his contract!
Would be less of a risk than maybe an unknown.
I know the talk of Nisbet is premature but can see it happening given the interest in January!

Not sure there are any players in the same vein of form as those two were. Zak Rudden is maybe one. Nowhere near in the same form as LS or KN, but I think he started at Rangers and has made his way to lower league Scottish football. Unless he kicks on big style, can't see him being at the same level
Jack Ross previously signed McCart for St Mirren too…
Think he’s signing
