Thanks mate wondered why I was sitting watching Patrick Viera 🫣

Just noticed Charlie Austin is playing for Brisbane, recently playing in championship with QPR, 33 but probably still got it at that level, good scoring record in England
Wee Russell on the bench beside Dwight Yorke for Macarthur
:not worth
Any chance of the CCM game kicking off, or should I just hit the sack 😑
CCM game postponed
For those watching the Sydney v Melbourne Victory game.
Keep an eye out for Jake Brimmer, Melbourne’s no 22
Apparently Victory had accepted Hibs offer for him at the start of the season, butbBrimmer pulled out as his father was/is very sick and he chose to remain in Oz.

Jason Cummings last gasp attempt to shine and get in Arnie’s World Cup squad coming up 7-30 pm Sydney time…think you get it in Scotland
Difficult match for his side as Western Sydney Wanderers are near the top of the ladder, but fingers crossed he can do the business.
Week after week we create numerous chances in the box but more often than not we are powderpuff and a lot of those chances are fluffed. I think Maclaren would have been on the end of a few, he is just a pest in the box but finds the net, he just has a knack of being in the right place at the right time, something we are lacking. Thats just one of our problems though
Melbourne City 4 v 0 Perth Glory FT
Maclaren 2

Aye Jamie would score wherever he played.
However in Oz things are a little easier for him as he plays with one of the cashed up City Group’s clubs, and consequently they have much more possession usually.
Also, while not denigrating Oz football, defences here tend to give attackers lots more room than say Scottish defences.
But down here if you backed him to be top scorer every year, I reckon your money would be safe.
Watch out for a young kid called Garang Kuol in the Mariners side.
He’s only played a handful of games, but is seen as a star of the future and may even go to Qatar due to his X Factor ability.
Usually comes on as an impact player in the second half.
Newcastle United secured his signature a couple of months ago and loaned him back to the Mariners for the rest of the season.
If You watch the Central Coast Mariners v Macarthur game on Sunday arvo my time
Look out for one, and possibly two Hibbies behind the goals.
This one will be wearing the 2016 cup winning strip ..in tribute to Jason Cummings who will play his last game before heading off to Qatar.
Jason recently acknowledged that prior to coming to the Mariners the last time he got a regular run of games was at Hibs.

Jase misses a pen after his side are reduced to 10 men
The ref blew for the penalty way to soon, JC had the ball in the net with the next hit of the ball, a couple of seconds to see how it panned out should have been allowed.
Surprisingly, the 19 year old winger for McArthur, Jed Drew, who scored the last minute winner serves behind the bar in my local. I knew he played football but I did not know he had progressed through to A-League level. He had a pretty good debut so I will be watching out for him from now.
Sydney FC have just beaten Celtic 2-1 in Sydney.
I’m no Sydney fan, but they matched Celtic in every department…..it was no fluke.
Be interesting to see what the excuses will be
A league must be decent standard esp with Aus being in WC
It’s as always a subjective personal opinion as to its…or indeed the SPFL’s ‘standard’.
Fans in both Australia and Scotland seem to be both over critical of the other’s league.
My personal view is that technically the A League is generally above that of the SPFL, but Scotland play the game at twice the pace, mark much closer and in most games would run over the top of their A League opponents based on sheer power.
Celtic for some reason played at a very slow pace, and right into a Sydney’s hands,
Celtic were below par, and Sydney were very, very good, and frequently exposed Celtic’s defence.
I don’t think Celtic will make the same mistake again.
Celtic lose in penalty shoot-out against Everton in the Sydney Super Cup game.
They had 7 shots on goal to 0 for Everton but could not get the ball in the net.
Celtic were good between the boxes but could not break down Everton’s defence.
Not surprising, as Other than the top 3 teams in the EPL, no team has conceded fewer goals so far this season.
One other thing that was exposed was Celtic’s defence…a lesson perhaps for Scottish clubs…when Everon did attack, the Celtic defence looked vulnerable.
19 out of the 26 man Oz World Cup squad have played, or do play in the A League.
Can’t be as bad as some make out.
Not an A League player but I have been impressed with Harry Souttar
I wonder if we could swap him for Porto ?
Think he would take a slight reduction in wages ?

Just been announced that Dwight Yorke and his assistant Russell Latapy are leaving their coaching positions with Macarthur.
He is a former Sydney FC player, and it is rumoured that after their defeat today, the Sydney coach will be sacked and Yorke and Latapy will take over there
Ramat Akbari of Brisbane Roar and an Afghanistan international is rumoured to be joining Motherwell.
Perth Glory v Melbourne Victory playing now. A chance to see Jake Brimmer, Melbourne Victory's #22, who we nearly signed in the summer.
Unlikely to be a fast paced game - it was 39C this afternoon in Perth. Out for my morning run at the back of 8 this morning and it was already 32C, my laptop reckons it's 31C now. Not ideal for running around.
Edit: end to end, wide open game, Glory deserved winners 3-1, 2 red cards, number of good saves by the Melburne Victory keeper before he stuffed up trying to play out and was tackled, leading to Glory sealing the win, 2 goals in 8 minutes from Adam Taggart, after coming on as a sub in his first game back at his home town club.
Given the "accuracy" of my initial prediction, I'm now going to predict that we turn in an utterly gutless performance and get pumped out the cup by Hearts tomorrow
Melbourne Victory just went 2-1 up against Wellington thanks to a Beckamesque free kick taken by former Hibs target Jake Brimmer.
Melbourne city against Melbourne victory , Top against bottom tomorrow morning ...Victory even money :hmmm:

Cummings scores 2-1 CCM.. Still first half.
Does anyone know what channel the CCM Adelaide game is on?
All Cummings had to do was put his head in there, but pulled out. Getting a bit soft i think.
One of the better A League games I’ve seen. The Mariners just need to pick their final ball more carefully, the usual slight lack of quality in the final third that you see in this league
CCM 1 v 0 Adelaide

Jase assist
Nice assist from the Cumdog and it’s 1-0
Cummings does well but the defending in the A League has always been rank rotten
2-0 ( 4–1)
Good game.
Cummings done fine for CCM, and was good to see him laying the ball off for the first goal. Should be fun watching him lead the line against Jamie Mac in two weeks time.
For United, I thought Goodwin was a different level, but I really liked that 17 year-old (Irankunda). What a wicked right-foot :-)
The forwards are certainly closer marked in Scotland than they are in the A League, but there are still some good defenders in it.
As Lewis Miller has shown though, they have to adjust to the pace of the game when they arrive in Scotland.
Jordan Bos of Melbourne city...a left back is joining Westerlo in Belguim for $2million, and on show for the Mariners last night, left back Jacob Farrell is the reason boy wonder Irakunda has not done much in the last few games when the teams have met.
He was on the bench for the semis against Adelaide with one job in mind...stop Irakunda.
When Irakunda goes on, Farrell goes on....they tried to keep Irakunda away from Farrell as much as they could last night.
Think Farrell will be off overseas soon too.
10-45am today (Edinburgh time)
Australian Grand Final
Central Coast Mariners (Lewis Miller’s old club) v Melbourne City
Jason v Jamie
Interested to see this. You can see aspects of Miller's level of play all over the pitch. It's a bit rough around the edges in terms of quality and the defending is definitely less strategic and intense as it is here. The goal for Cummins was exciting for him/his team but...
They're saying he's now going to play in India? 😳
How do the end of season play offs work?
What I’d do for Cummings back here.
Top six are involved in a formatted play off situation until 2 are left……take too long to explain, but is standard among all main football codes here.
The last two play off in what you are watching for the position of ‘Champions’
Melbourne City, by virtue of being at the top of the league are ‘minor Premiers’ but if they win tonight they will be ‘champions’
3-1 Cummings penalty.

Has to be MOTM.
Don't Panenka, don't Panenka!
Well done JC. We’ve missed a goal scorer like him since he left. Glad he’s found an environment that suits him
We haven't missed a scorer like him all the time since he left. We'd have Doidge, Nisbet, Boyle, Kamberi, Maclaren etc in that time, and finished 4th and 3rd.
He would've played a part though, and we've had far worse 2nd and 3rd choice forwards in that time. Would love him back here now, scores goals.
Cumming's is going to 'do the 5-1' again isn't he? 😂
