Totally unreported by the mainstream media, Trump's war against a forgotten victim continues.
Trump said his father was born in Germany this week (he said it this week, he wasn't claiming his father was born this week), his dad was born in New York.
I think he's a compulsive liar. I think he does it without thinking about it. Just lies, lies, lies.
Yesterday the president of the United States said that asylum seekers were not people.
He said they were animals.
2019.
This popped up on social media feed today. Nicely put together by Adam Troy Castro.
Why do liberals think all Trump supporters are all STUPID?
An anguished question from a Trump supporter: "Why do liberals think Trump supporters are stupid?"
The serious answer: Here’s what we really think about Trump supporters - the rich, the poor, the malignant and the innocently well-meaning, the ones who think and the ones who don't...
That when you saw a man who had owned a fraudulent University, intent on scamming poor people, you thought "Fine."
That when you saw a man who had made it his business practice to stiff his creditors, you said, "Okay."
That when you heard him proudly brag about his own history of sexual abuse, you said, "No problem."
That when he made up stories about seeing muslim-Americans in the thousands cheering the destruction of the World Trade Center, you said, "Not an issue."
That when you saw him brag that he could shoot a man on Fifth Avenue and you wouldn't care, you chirped, "He sure knows me."
That when you heard him illustrate his own character by telling that cute story about the elderly guest bleeding on the floor at his country club, the story about how he turned his back and how it was all an imposition on him, you said, "That's cool!"
That when you saw him mock the disabled, you thought it was the funniest thing you ever saw.
That when you heard him brag that he doesn't read books, you said, "Well, who has time?"
That when the Central Park Five were compensated as innocent men convicted of a crime they didn't commit, and he angrily said that they should still be in prison, you said, "That makes sense."
That when you heard him tell his supporters to beat up protesters and that he would hire attorneys, you thought, "Yes!"
That when you heard him tell one rally to confiscate a man's coat before throwing him out into the freezing cold, you said, "What a great guy!"
That you have watched the parade of neo-Nazis and white supremacists with whom he curries favor, while refusing to condemn outright Nazis, and you have said, "Thumbs up!"
That you hear him unable to talk to foreign dignitaries without insulting their countries and demanding that they praise his electoral win, you said, "That's the way I want my President to be."
That you have watched him remove expertise from all layers of government in favor of people who make money off of eliminating protections in the industries they're supposed to be regulating and you have said, "What a genius!"
That you have heard him continue to profit from his businesses, in part by leveraging his position as President, to the point of overcharging the Secret Service for space in the properties he owns, and you have said, "That's smart!"
That you have heard him say that it was difficult to help Puerto Rico because it was the middle of water and you have said, "That makes sense."
That you have seen him start fights with every country from Canada to New Zealand while praising Russia and quote, "falling in love" with the dictator of North Korea, and you have said, "That's statesmanship!"
That Trump separated children from their families and put them in cages, managed to lose track of 1500 kids. has opened a tent city incarceration camp in the desert in Texas - he explains that they’re just “animals” - and you say, “well, ok then.”
That you have witnessed all the thousand and one other manifestations of corruption and low moral character and outright animalistic rudeness and contempt for you, the working American voter, and you still show up grinning and wearing your MAGA hats and threatening to beat up anybody who says otherwise.
What you don't get, Trump supporters in 2019, is that succumbing to frustration and thinking of you as stupid may be wrong and unhelpful, but it's also...hear me...charitable.
Because if you're NOT stupid, we must turn to other explanations, and most of them are less flattering.

The man is actually a genius....
Take Iran... He's claimed they weren't complying with the nuclear treaty and cancelled US involvement, this is despite the international nuclear inspectors saying they were, the rest of the western world saying they were and even the CIA saying they were.
Move forward a year or so and he's now turned the screws big time on any country doing business with Iran, trade with them and you don't trade with the US or any country that trades with the US (assuming that other country still wants to trade with the US).
As a result a specialist oil supplied by Iran to South Korea, amongst others and only available from two locations on the planet is now solely supplied by the US.
Hmmm....

As an aside its an extremely light oil... Imagine the difference from a heavy 'sludge' crude oil and, say wd40, the oil in question is lighter by the same difference but using wd40 as the starting point.

He cheats kids at golf. Surprisingly unsurprising.Quote:
They get to a hole with a big pond on it. Both Ted and his son hit the ball on the green, and Trump hits his in the water. By the time they get to the hole, Trump is lining up the kid’s ball. Only now it’s his ball and the caddie has switched it. The kid’s like, “Daddy, that’s my ball.”
But Trump’s caddie goes, “No, this is the president’s ball; your ball went in the water.” Ted and his son look at each other confused, not sure if this is really happening. And Trump’s caddie says, “This is the president’s ball. I don’t know what to tell you.”
Trump makes that putt, wins one up, and declares himself the club champion.
It's me that playing "catch-up" I guess - The reports in the newspapers I mention go further back than your post - this is an issue that has been given some serious space in major newspapers Stateside ... I'm not saying they get everything right, but to suggest that they are not reportingg at all seems wide of the mark to me ...
Ive always been interested in the native american story, and i follow a few of their rep groups on social media. There's no question the native minority in the US and Canada feel like there's a deliberate policy of land despoliation and toleration of racist murder and violence which is ignored by the US media.

He surely can't be serious with this Tweet:
For all of the money we are spending, NASA should NOT be talking about going to the Moon - We did that 50 years ago. They should be focused on the much bigger things we are doing, including Mars (of which the Moon is a part), Defense and Science!
I'm calling it, he's slipped up and just exposed the fact his whole presidency is, a massive orchestrated troll.
Still cant get my head around his views on the Irish border...Varadkers face is of utter WTF!!!

I don't know whether those theories are true or not but I think a lot of what Trump tweets is from his advice and not his understanding. I'm not saying he isn't intelligent but I don't think he is as broadly intelligent as he likes us to believe. He has dozens of people whispering knowledge into his ears.

President Donald Trump will no longer pursue adding a question on citizenship to the 2020 US census questionnaire. Instead, he'll obtain information on citizenship through other means.
"As a result of today's executive order we will be able to ensure the 2020 census generates an accurate count of how many citizens, non-citizens and illegal aliens are in the United States of America,"

I reported this tweet for racism. Just awaiting twitters normally hastey action in dealing with such matters.

This monsters rhetoric just gets increasingly more terrifying over time. :bitchy:
https://i.ibb.co/RB204hS/terrifying.png
You're not allowed to criticize America under Donald Trump. Even although his whole campaign to become president was based on an endless stream of criticism and "making America great again".
Clearly been taking some advice from his dear friend in North Korea.
Obviously I want him to lose next year, but seeing his face will be a massive fringe benefit to ending the whole sorry 4 years.
J
His rhetoric is becoming increasingly concerning, even by the standards expected from him. A lot of reference to US 'power' and 'might' and he's mentioned military strength a lot lately.
I suppose a war and increasingly nationalistic language will sit well with many in his core support and with an election on the horizon it makes sense to pander to them.
I was wondering if that was his plan as well then realised he simply doesn’t have a plan.
He just seems to swat at whatever is put in front of him from one day to the next.
The only concern would be the ability of the Democrats to pick a sensible choice to run against him. If they manage that then surely there is enough semi sane Americans to make sure Trump never darkens our world again....
Trump's grandparents were from Germany.
His mum was from Scotland
Two of his three wives have been Eastern European
Four out of five of his children have a non-American, immigrant parent.
The people he is telling to go back to their own countries are equally as, if not more, American than him and pretty much his entire family. The only difference is the colour of their skin.
He is a despicable human being.
https://www.theguardian.com/commenti...iled-integrate
Well, now he's started talking in this fashion we might as well all do it.
I totally agree.
His most recent tweets are undeniably offensive and racist and he should be kicked off twitter, the same as anybody else would be.
I don't know why they don't do it. It wouldn't be a bad bit of publicity if they kicked the most powerful man in the world off their platform, a platform whose credibility is significantly less when there is an inconsistent approach to the tolerance of offensive language.
I may be wrong, but I thought that particular tweet was in response to a call to allow undocumented migrants, currently in detention centres, into the USA. Accordingly, the "them" was referring to undocumented migrants.
Even if it wasn't, however, I'm still not following the logic that that makes it racist. I can't help but feel false assertions of racism can dilute the impact of genuine occurrences for some people.
I also think banning Trump from Twitter would play into his hands to some extent. It's the responsibility of rational and reasonable people to debate people like Trump in the open and win the argument.
His latest outburst follows his method of operation perfectly. He says something that no right minded person can find acceptable and it confirms to them that he's mad. But there's method in his madness, there's nothing he can do to persuade non racists and ethnic minorities to support him, but he sure as hell can solidify his fan base who lap this kind of talk up. If he loses the next election he's going to jail and like every other megalomaniac before him he'd rather see everything else crash and burn with him than be brought to justice.
It doesn't matter though, does it? The very fact that Trump became president and is still held in such high regard by his followers shows that rational, reasonable people are losing the battle. Thinking has become a thing of the past. It's much easier to follow the braindead rhetoeric of the far-right.
Not a chance will he ever be made to step foot in a jail cell. The closest he's ever been and ever will be to a jail cell are those childrens detention camps he visits. He has too much money and creates too many jobs to be treated equally by the legal system.
There are always lines that need to be drawn between what is acceptable and what is unacceptable, they need to be clear and unambiguous.
If you don't accept certain types of message from the likes of Britain First, you can't accept it from the president of the USA.
Accepting it from the president empowers the racists all around the world who might ask, with some justification, why their messages are not allowed and his are.
Even if he loses the 2020 elections (which i'm terrified to say he probably won't). Him and his millions upon millions of cultists won't lay down and accept it. They'll become violent very quickly and will look to overthrow the democratic system using any force necessary.
I personally don't mind America tearing itself apart. Anybody that knows me knows that I hold out no love for that nation and it's international antics. I just hope the better half wins in the end and the country can reform itself.
"If you don't like it here, then leave."
https://twitter.com/SpillerOfTea/sta...43585979457539
I'd love to believe that. But Trump already had too much influence and power to face jail before he became president. I can't see him facing jail after it's over either. If it means thousands of jobs at risk, corporate America will step in and ensure it doesn't happen.
Of course it matters. There are people who will not be dissuaded from voting for Trump, there are people who will never be persuaded to vote for him and there are those who could be persuaded either way. It's up to the rational, reasonable people to make the arguments which will persuade the persuadable.
It's a good point and I agree in principle. I just wonder, in this specific situation, what the lesser evil is.
To play devil's advocate, will the average working American that doesn't use Twitter care that much?
Stock market regularly making new highs which bumps up the 401k value, economic growth that Europe could only dream of currently, positive jobs numbers month after month.
If I'm a working man in the US with a mortgage to pay, college and retirement to save for, I'm Trump 2020.

The current stock market run began under Obama. Besides, you don’t need a racist in charge for prosperity.

His chance of re-election is not great. He doesn't get to run against Hillary (not liked much by Dems, loathed by Republicans) this time. Even against Hillary he was a couple of million behind on the popular vote and squeaked through thanks to narrow wins in the rust belt states. Either Biden or Sanders will kill him there.
Can't find a chart, but the numbers are pretty clear:
Trump v Sanders
Trump v Biden
You must have misread my post as I didn't say rational and reasonable people voted for Trump the first time.
FWIW, I have no idea whether they did or not. It is, however, dangerous and unproductive to assume anyone who disagrees with your opinion is irrational and/or unreasonable.
I won't pretend to know the numbers involved in the vote or how widespread this opinion was but to add to your point... The only person I know who lived in the US at the time worked in an office full of people who claimed to dislike both candidates and simply weren't going to vote.
That would have an impact if it's a commonly held view.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-49035505
Chilling, worrying and a little heart breaking.
Uh oh, British flagged tanker seized by the Iranians in the strait.
That rally the other day, in which his supporters were chanting "send them back" in reference to four black U.S. Congresswomen (three were born in the USA) was deeply disturbing. It was like a Nazi rally. His base consists of unreconstructed racists and the hard right wing of the Republican Party. Whilst many of his voters in swing states voted on other issue issues, such as their anger at growing inequality and loss of manufacturing jobs, his core support is nativist and bigoted. Those are the people who not only don't mind Trump's racist rhetoric and policies but who actually welcome them, and they will support Trump no matter what. There is nothing he can say about ethnic minorities that will ever offend them.
Trump and Boris - unbelievable.
The world has had some inspirational leaders but now we have these jokers :grr:
Trump: "Boris Johnson is what they want. They call him the British Trump. They like me over there."
US just one step away from public floggings.
Trump threatening to raise tariffs on French wine:
Asked about the issue in the Oval Office later, Mr Trump, who is teetotal, said: "I've always liked American wines better than French wines. Even though I don't drink wine. I just like the way they look."

The man is clearly bonkers!
He's called of a state visit to Denmark reportedly because "based on Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen's comments, that she would have no interest in discussing the purchase of Greenland, I will be postponing our meeting scheduled in two weeks for another time".

He just needs distracted from Greenland for a bit.
I've heard that amongst the countless valuable minerals in Beigeland there's priceless dust particles that make orange hair look more natural. The country's probably for sale so if he can find it he'll surely offer them one of his super fantastic deals.
