Fair play to Catterall. Don’t mind him at all. Good boxer!
Cards were too wide but it was clear. I think Taylor was fortunate to have Prograis and Ramirez to unify. Catterall has beaten Taylor and Prograis and is still many multiple levels below Haney, Lopez and Garcia.
I was at the Steve Bunce podcast recording last night that was held in the old behind the goals. I've never been there since it was renovated and it's looking great. There must have been over 100 in the audience and Josh Taylor came across really well compared to the angry swearing Josh sometimes seen in press conferences. Nice relaxed setting and Hibs had the bars open so people could get a drink. I think the podcast comes out either tomorrow or this weekend.

It was a great night. Nearly 300 tickets were snapped up, well over 200 in attendance. Thought Josh came across very well. Plenty fire in the belly still. Interesting to hear Hibs (and Kensell in particular) are in regular contact with Josh re putting on a fight at ER.
Mike Tyson v Jake Paul WTF.
I never paid much attention but some documentary appeared on my Netflix. I know nothing about this Jake Paul character but seems he used to be a YouTuber. I am guessing Mike Tyson needs the cash.
Josh Taylor calls for Jack Catterall trilogy as Scotland star eyes conclusive end to bitter boxing rivalry
Taylor has called for a 3rd fight claiming it can "put an end to their bitter boxing feud once and for all"
Catterall won both times and moved on :agree:
i'm sure money isn't the real motivation
He didn't call him out. I was there, he was asked about the fights and his feelings towards him now the dust has settled. He mentioned that a 3rd fight could be an option but Jack was rightly going after a world title now. He mentioned that it was 1-1 so a decider would be good. I have no doubt Catterall has no interest in fighting Josh again. Josh did say, a 3rd fight could happen in the future if it suited them both....if either or both had belts. The crowd and Buncy (surprisingly IMO) seemed very keen on a third fight. Bunce had Josh winning the first fight incidentally
He is moving on but will be asked about Catterall probably until he gets another significant dance partner. He was actually quite funny. You could tell he was trying to be more respectful when talking about the 2 fights and Catterall as a person and fighter. He was calling him Jack and being fairly complimentary. Said he doesn't hate him.....he doesn't know him personally to hate him. He couldn't help slipping in a wee "he's still an ********" though :tee hee:
Interested to see his next move. Hearn, Warren or Shalom? Get on a 5v5 card and he’s right back in the big time
Not a huge fan of Netflix’s presentation of the card tonight. Too many non-boxing pundits, though admittedly I only turned it on part way through the Barrios vs Ramos fight.
The constant “I’d like to thank Netflix” is as annoying as the “I’d like to thank His Excellency” nonsense.
Tell you what, some scrap this Taylor - Serrano fight! Both just tearing into each other.
Thought they would’ve stopped it for that cut.
That eye is just flapping about there…eeekk
This is a clown show. Obnoxious YouTuber vs near pensioner.
Watched Serrano Taylor fight just now, brilliant, well over 100 punches landed a round. Has to be a third fight.
Watched the embarrassment after it, thankfully just fast forwarded it to the start and then barely watched the pantomime.
Coverage was awful from what I saw. WWE commentators, talking about other events on Netflix during the fight
Just watched it, of course it was a farse i think we all knew what would happen but there was that nagging thought that Tyson might catch him and knock him out.
I have to say i did think it was a real fight, both men went for it, but Tyson just did not have the legs, which at 58 of course he did not have the legs.
He has a biting fixation. :faf:
Tony Bellew is clearly positioning himself to be next to jump on the Paul money train.
At 6 years retired he'll probably have to wait a while yet.
People say this stuff is killing boxing but with guys like Hearn, Mayweather, Tyson and so on willing to get on board then boxing only has itself to blame. When you look at the figures the fight is said to have done then it's clear people want to watch it. Mayweather himself used to say it: people pay to hopefully watch me lose, whatever their reasons I still get their money.
What a card.

Usyk v Fury 2 up coming.
What can Fury do differently in order to win? If he's more aggressive, he also becomes more vulnerable to Usyk's counter attacking style.
I thought the last fight was close, but Usyk was the clear winner.
I'm on a night out on Saturday and wondering if there will be pubs showing the fight near the city centre, Cask and Barrel maybe? Suppose I could phone a few and check.
The last fight reminded me of the great fights of the 70's. As a laddie I watched Ali v Foreman, Ali v Frazier etc. This fight has the same stature for me.
Usyk is just a phenomenal fighter, he seems almost unbeatable. That said, Fury, despite being a bit of a dick, is very capable and when these big guys collide, anything can happen.
