St Mirren will be controlled by fans trust by the time the SPL vote is taken and their spokesman said the for/against vote will be decided by their members.
He also said membership was open to anyone.

Agreed - and no I'm not sure! :greengrin
But the extract below sure provides a stick to beat the St Mirren Board with if they allow SevCo in.
"The Board of Directors as well as all other St Mirren supporters totally understands the sense of injustice felt at this time instigated by the way in which another club in our League has conducted their affairs."
Sending pretty strong smoke signals IMHO.....
[/QUOTE
I foresee a huge increase in the use of the word 'however' by club chairmen in the next couple of weeks.
:greengrin
I took it straight from Down the Slopes post..it quoted a league spokesman as saying:
"A new company (newco) has bought Rangers' assets, including Ibrox Stadium"
DTS sadly failed to state where he took the article from but to me that seemed pretty clear that the SPL were of the opinion that Servco now had Ibrox.
Unless St Mirren are the club that have currently only sold a few hundred Season Tickets.
Finances are of course a key driver, but all us 'Gang of Ten' clubs derive the bulk of our income from ticket sales.
Of course it should then be pointed out that if we stop going to games we aren't likely to be watching them either. So the Sky deal would likely go mammaries skyward also.
Opinions eh! Seems like many on here are reading this different to me....guess we'll see. I just don't get why St Mirren would put this statement out on their own website with words like "injustice" included if they intend to vote in SevCo. Doesn't make any tactical sense...they should just say nothing if they intend to vote yes.
We must know how each and every club votes dont we Ally, we must have transparency?
If Rangers are a new club on paper and a club votes yes because basically the new club is predicted to bring in money then that for me is the end of football as competion in Scotland.
A new club to play in SPL should have to earn that on pitch or else there is really no point. I have said it before this shouldnt even be up for vote the newco should apply along with Whitehill welfare etc etc.
I don't think new Rangers will get enough votes to get into the SPL.
I'm actually begining to wonder if they'll even get an SFL place, given that the requirement is to produce accounts for x no. of years. They can't satisfy that criteria so they're application would surely fall at that point in favour of a club that can?
Mcbookie go 1-2 rangers play spl next season,no fans want it but we all know it's gonna happen,
This should become a 'must read' for everyone!:agree:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/foo...Longmuir.html#
I'm not so sure about this but see your point. The bigger issue for me with Newco is the previous crimes, fraud, cheating, double contracts, taking the SFA to court, and total lack of any humility, remorse or apology. The Huns and Celtic must really wonder what it WOULD take to get relegated.
The SPL might as well amend the paragraphs on relegation to state (all, except the OF whom are exempted). Only in Scotland
"There are no winners in this situation. The good of the game is balancing sporting integrity with the finances available, and to be realistic about the future.”
This is a worrying quote to me.
Surely it should just be - "There are no winners in this situation. The game is (about) sporting integrity"
The wording of the initial quote implies that sporting integrity has a price. No it hasn't.
As someone suggested earlier, you can't - be half pregnant, half honest or half lying.
sorry a bit late with this....
A long long time ago
I can still remember how
The football used to make me smile
And I knew if they took their chance
My team could make those Hibees dance
And maybe they'd be happy for a while
But February made me shiver
With every paper I'd deliver
Bad news on the doorstep
I couldn't take one more step
I can't remember if I sighed
When I read about yon Craigie Whyte
But something touched me deep inside
**The day the Rangers died**
Bye, bye Glasgow Rangers have died
Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry
Them loyal boys were drinking whiskey in Rye
Singin' this'll be the day that We die
This'll be the day that We die
Useful one stop shop with all of the public statements from SPL clubs thus far:
http://sport.stv.tv/football/106806-...eir-own-words/
One thought - a number of those club statements make reference to supporter consultation...i.e. in a structured way....are we expecting Hibs to do something formal between now and the vote?
It's probably worth pointing out that Rangers haven't actually been found guilty of the hidden contracts charges yet. The SPL's investigators have looked at the evidence and decided that prima facie - on the face of it - there is a case to answer. That means that there still has to be a hearing to determine whether they are guilty or not then, if found guilty, the punishment has to be determined. It looks like the SPL have come to the conclusion that the undead huns can be charged with the deceased huns crimes, so it looks like continuity is the way they will be going.
The only reason Newco would be voted into the SPL is because they are Rangers FC. Rangers FC have already been found guilty of trangressions that were deemed second only to match-fixing and the crime they now stand accused of must up near the top of the scale as well. If they're found guilty of that I can't see any justification whether sporting or commercial for allowing them to compete in Scotland's top league in the forthcoming season. Allowing them to compete at all would be extremely lenient.
Given that it's highly unlikely that Sevco will get the required number of votes to enter the league due to Hibs, Aberdeen, Dundee United and Celtc all voting no and St Mirren look like they will also vote no, I can't imagine why any team would want to incur the wrath of their own fans and a large number of travelling fans by voting yes to a lost cause. I don't get it.
Thats true Cav but given the previous statement by Dodds, and today's by Boumsong, this is surely a forgone conclusion. Difficult to see how they can get out of it and given the information that Hector may be contacting a sample of beneficiaries then I would imaging there are more than a few sphincter's twitching right about now. Tax "avoidance" is looking more and more like "evasion", with the consequences that brings with it.
Rangers should be kicked out the SPL/SFL and made to rejoin their local league and start again. There is no justification within the rules for them to remain in any of the national leagues.
I agree - and I did say earlier that Boumsong's comments pretty much wrapped it up - but we're just getting ahead of ourselves a wee bit here. There still has to be a hearing and it's just possible (although highly unlikely) that they could discover that the EBTs were disclosed to the SPL after all - innocent until proven guilty an' all that. Whatever the outcome it's going to be some time before it all unfolds so we shouldn't expect Club 12 to turn into Dundee overnight.
More smoke and mirrors than a meeting of the magic circle judging by some of the STV comments.
Expect the vote to be secret ballot, folks to say one thing in public and look after their own interests come the vote.
Gordon Waddle in yesterday's Mail claimed that his discussions with the chairmen indicate that the newco wont be voted in.
That will make up for the times they have cheated us on the pitch.
Does anyone remember the despicable penalty in the 73/74 cup quarter final replay at Easter Road in front of 49,000. Hibs were denied a stick on penalty when Gordon was punched in the box. Bobby Davidson ignored it and gave them a penalty when (poss Alfie Conn?) dived fron 2 yards outside the box.
I was in the shed when Ian Macdonald did his blatant dive years later and the worst of all, when we were 3-1 up and denied another stonewall penalty by Bobby Tait. They eventually won 4-3 and that was the start of our terrible run which ended in relegation. The same Bobby Tait asked the SFA to let him referee Rangers at Ibrox for his last game.
I suspect there will be many more examples, but these three were from the top of my head.
Good riddance.
Why is it taking so long?
Is there a really good reason for the wait, the uncertainty, the embarrassment?
You would think they would just get it done one way or another.
Talk about milking it ;(
Not forgetting Luna being sent off when he scored against them at Easter Road.
The SPL featuring only 11 clubs next season.
A Rangers newco sitting out the first round of fixtures AND a League Cup ban. :grr:
Consecutive points deductions for the next three seasons. :aok:
Demotion to the Third Division.:thumbsup:
This is good to read...
Despite the possibility of Rangers dropping into the First Division, SFL supremo David Longmuir insisted such a move would not be welcomed.
He said: “The decisions that have to be made by the SPL and SFA are far more crucial than the knock-on effects that come to the SFL.
“The only way we could accommodate any new application would be to create a gap in the Third Division through the play-offs.
“There would be no provision for any newco Rangers to go into the First rather than Third Division.”

- at Greyskull, ball over the top into the box, both turn & run for it, Geebsie gets in front by 2 yards & about to take it out to the corner, the big english galoot realises he's getting naewhere & dives onto Geebsie's back, G doesnae know whats hit him & goes down, ref runs up, red cards Geebsie, gives them a pen. they win 1-0. Unbelievable just about, but it's Scottish refs & the huns. One that sticks in my mind way before at Greyskull their # 11 john mcdonald, always a diver, with a total shocker that the ref just HAD to give3, worst dive ever, they won that one by 1 goal as well, 3rd division is way too lenient for them.
umm, why the wait till Rangers future is clear??

they dont seem too happy with it tho:

There have been a few posters saying that without an SFA or UEFA licence TRFC cannot get into the SPL and indeed the UEFA one isn't transferable.
If (and I'm not doubting this) this is the case, why has it not been raised before? Surely the meeting on the 4th isn't required, unless they are saying 'turn up with the licences and we'll have a vote' knowing they can't get one (I've checked ebay and none are for sale).
If the vote goes against the transfer of the SPL share to Sevco, the share remains with the existing Rangers business as the liquidation won't be completed by July 4th. How does the SPL get rid of them in order to allow Dundee or Dunfermline to replace them? Could Rangers hang on to SPL membership until the start of the season just to cause maximum confusion?
East Strirling are members of the SFA and have provided 3 years audited accounts to their governing body. Should ES make it to the SPL they would qualify for a UEFA licence, which they would need to compete in the top division.
Newhun have neither 3 years accounts nor a UEFA licence which is why the would need to start, minimum, in the third division.
The lack of UEFA licence, fundamentally, is the reason Newco's face a three year ban from UEFA competitions and it is a requirement to compete in all the top divisions in Europe.
Again, as others have pointed out, the Scottish reglatory bodies are followng due process. They are dealing with everything that comes up in meticulous detail and in order. I now have a bit of faith that the correct decision will be reached.
Urmm I kind of get that although you have to admit it's tediously slow.
There is also the fact that it is clear that Servco do not meet SPL licence criteria and Rangers now clearly fail that as well. Why wait for 'meticulous detail' when the broad picture is quite clear, neither entity meets entrance criteria so cannot and will not be admitted to the SPL...that would draw a line under the whole affair in terms of impact on the other clubs, fixtures could be confirmed and sponsors re-affirmed.
Why should the whole of Scottish football be impacted by Rangers/Servco desperate desire to bend/break rules for pretty much their own benefit.
If this wasn't 'Rangers' then none of this would be happening. The old club would be expelled or removed by revoking their licence and the new club would be already be trying to get into the SFL.
I'm being a bit pedantic here, but it's not a ban, the club is simply ineligible for UEFA competition. It is an important distinction because a ban sounds like a further punishment, and as we all know Rangers have been punished enough - look at the trouble the 10 point deduction has caused them.
Exactly - all of the clubs minded to let NewCheatsCo(SameAsOldCheatsCo) in to the SPL should pause and ask themselves one simple question - if this were my club, what would the other SPL members' (including the Old Squirm) verdicts be? Pretty clear-cut, I would suggest - their clubs would be expelled without a second thought and would have to beg the SFL to let them into Div 3.
And Traynor et al, if they even noticed or were bothered, would be writing that it was as much as they deserved and that the SPL clubs had made the only right decision!!!!
That's true now, but they're still members and will have a vote on the transfer of their membership. If they're going to be expelled for that, why wait for the transfer meeting? Surely membership should have lapsed as soon as Green took ownership of the football club and Ibrox.
The most ironic post of the day award for the club formerly known as rangers media website has already been awarded for today, wrap your eyes round this little beauty.
Yes we are sitting ducks. The new sanction from the SFA is delayed until after the vote. The SPL sanctions will be decided after the vote. The EBT investigation will bring charges after the vote. I for one won't have an interest in a league artificially made uncompetitive by points deductions and thieving our gate money.
Yes you read that right folks a league made artificially uncompetitive (ring any bells) and also we are now thieving money from Club12.
Given that Rangers/Sevco/Whatever have already shown that they are not averse to a bit of legal action through the courts, it makes sense to ensure that every rule is followed to the letter of the law regardless of how pointless it may seem so that they don't have any ammunition to go legal again and claim procedures haven't been properly completed to their detriment.
Frustrating yes, but if it keeps them out for good with no recourse then I'm happy they're doing it by the book.
Perhaps there are some brave souls wishing to do penance, who could venture into the wastlelands of certain parts of West Lothian or Ayrshire, to try to explain why the Teddy bears are in such a mess?
I have not met one single Rangers fan who will dwell upon the actions of the club that has brought them to this place. All they respond with is, 'Celtic done it too/We will pay back every club that votes against us/Its all down to Murray/Whyte/We are the people, Rangers will never die/its a Papish conspiracy, etc. etc. ad nauseum.
If, and its still a big if, Rangers are refused entry back into the SPL and end up in Division Three or out of the game completely for a time (or permanently) I can see this being taken onto the streets in certain places.
:cb
I hear they are planning a film of these events. Working title is: "Died on the 4th July"
Could the SFL refuse Rangers entry?
I think the SFL needs 3 years audited accounts, so unless they change the rules for the benefit of the Quintessental British Cheats, then they won't be going there either. Not to worry though because they can just go ahead with their plans to play in some 'Atlantic League'. With concrete boots preferably.Quote:

gota kick 'em out they're a stain on the league, this will run for years and years and soo much more still to come out. kick em out and the sfl/sfa/courts can worry about them.
Doddie - you maybe want to take a deep breath before you read this:
Charlie Allan@EECharlieAllanDons legend Joe Harper says SPL should show some mercy to newco Gers in his EE column tomorrow
Completely agree. I was almost physically sick at this line.
He insists it’s all down to a sense of duty or an inner calling.
This will be the same Boumsong that scuttled off to the EPL within months. That rag gets worse by the day will never ever buy it on its sister rag ever again.
2.How can you justify stripping titles for something that has nothing in relation to the outcome of matches/seasons? It's illogical
:faf:
Yes, buying better players by paying them with money that should have gone to HMRC has absolutely NOTHING to do with winning games...:aok:
this is my favorite one.

What happened to the 'nuclear' revelations?
With the vote in a couple of weeks, surely there is a risk of missing the boat with the impact it could make.
