So we're getting pumped and it seems we have no other response but to crock Roethlisberger. Still, I bet Charlie Batch manages to do okay.
We are throwing the ball again . Greene is same old. Had a couple of carries, nothing special. Hunter is killing us at RT and Mangold has been out most of the game. Got a rookie playing centre. Been quite a poor game so far if I'm honest although the D looks like it could be getting back on track. 15-3 half time .
Nice easy win for the Jets there . Jaguars have some real issuess regarding QB though. Hope Mangolds back for next week. Was good to see Brunell get a run out though and I still can't get use to seeing us play in blue even though I've got the jersey.
I didn't get to see Brunell, ended up with the Oakland - Buffalo game on my screen! Defence was brilliant today although I imagine we'll come up against tougher opposition than Jacksonville. Keller had some nice catches! Need to get myself one of those Titan hoodies that Rex was wearing - class, just like our HC! :not worth
I've got the jersey. It's cracking but mines is old, Leon Washington . Our D was top notch but yet again we were let down by by the run . Was watching CBS as well but my link stayed with the game till the end. Only thing about it was I had the urge to buy some viagra :greengrin. CBS were really pushing the stuff today.
Keller is top notch. Always rated him and it's the major plus in us letting go the recievers we did in the summer. I think he will be Sanchez go to guy this year. Have you seen our schedule over the next few weeks? Who the duck made that up? Must have been some patsie somewhere.
Tebow playing as a WR :greengrin
Good to see the Vikes are continuing as we left off, its as if we get bored of leading a game at half time
C'mon the Chargers :greengrin.
The Falcons v Eagles game was good but full of mistakes. Neither looks like a SB winner.
Kafka was top notch. Well done fella!
Seahawks lose 24-0 against Steelers. Didnt even get a 1st down in their half until late in the 4th quarter.
ESPN reporting that Big 12 and Big East football members may possibly merge with UConn & Rutgers joining the ACC - like rats deserting a sinking ship now :grr:
Why not have just one enourmous league?! :greengrin
Is there a web page where i can look at all of the college divisions?
Watching my NC State boys getting destroyed by Cinncinnati. :boo hoo:
The relative lack of football programs in the BE is proving to be its achilles heel. If all else fails my hope is that the basketball only colleges (Johns, Georgetown etc) stay intact and maybe add the likes of Memphis. I think or rather hope that it would still be a great basketball league.
For anyone who's interested, Skysports is having a free weekend this weekend, so we can watch Giants @ Eagles, then Packers @ Bears on skysports 4, then the Steelers vs the Colts on c4 all for free on Sunday! I can't wait, hopefully Vick is back for the Eagles!
the NFL have a picks page now http://apps.facebook.com/gamedaypickem/
Anyone else just see that punt return from alabama!!
NFLUK run this and have done since I came back to the UK. You get to put up against all the UK Sky and Channel 5 people. You should also play their fantasy football. Only about 10k people play it and each weekly winner enters a draw for a SB trip. (Half of them don't ave a clue so while you can't always win you got a chance, It's only open to UK residents so don't have to worry about Americans kicking your ar** :greengrin).
Not long back but nice to see my boys getting back on track, Buckeyes up 37 to 10 .
Patriots are up 14-0. Standard.
Eagles are looking crap against the Giants!
Look at the rain in Carolina
How about them bills!
10 mins to go but still...
How good does it feel to be a Lion right now! 3-0, is this real? This isn't a dream? Bring on those Cowgirls next week. The Lunatics are taking over the Asylum!
Cracking end to the Colts-Steelers game! :agree:
After the finish to last season I had a feeling the lions would to good this year but not this good.' great start!
And for us we are 3-0 as well, I always feel we let the bears back in it when the game should be over. Aw well still a good win and we have the broncos in green bay next week
Huge win for the Big Blue! They seemed to have every offensive play picked perfectly against the Eagles D and our much depleted defence looked decent. Manning looked the part once again, only concern was how much we let McCoy run the ball, but then again he looks very good this season and can see him rushing for big yardage against a lot of teams! Play-offs at a minimum for the G-Men
Hello again folks.
Just back from a decent couple of weeks in the USA - nice being able to watch games at reasonable hours for a wee change! Was in Gainesville for the Florida vs Tennessee game last weekend and what an atmosphere - not quite the Big House, but nonetheless, impressive!
Landed in Florida in time to watch the Michigan vs Notre Dame game - a combination of jetlag and the score almost made me give up at half time, but I'm glad I stuck with it. What a game - the pass from Robinson to get us in position with seconds to go was just sublime. Also beat San Diego State, with Brady Hoke getting the win he so badly wanted - can't believe we're ranked ahead of Ohio State and Michigan State mind you - a bit surreal. A lot of noise being made about LSU, the Sooners and Crimson Tide - from the SEC games I saw whilst in Florida, they look deserving of the accolades.
Was moderately happy with the Patriots start, but was a little weary with how we defended against Miami and then also gave up some pretty easy points to San Diego - combine that with how the Bills had started and I feared the worst ahead of last night. Brady had been scintillating in the opening two, but threw far too many bad passes last night and a good Bills team picked him off and did the damage. They also expertly set up their winning field goal in running down the clock to ensure we couldn't come back - superbly executed!
Can't believe the only 3 teams who are currently sitting 3-0 are the Bills, Lions and Packers - I though the Panthers were going to take the Packers last week for sure...
Cowgirls/Washington game has been riddled with errors, I can forgive Romo for them as he is playing with fractured ribs but muffed field goal placements and general all round poorness from both teams.
As an aside, was this broadcast over here in the UK at all? I was in tears laughing at this interview when it was shown on ESPN as the entire thing was just nuts! Here's an extract of David Bennett's interview ahead of last weekend's Coastal Carolina NCAA game:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EChnZTJicw
Edit: Hahaha - didn't realise I'd posted the baseball playoff scores in the wrong thread earlier!
Just about to hit the half and Michigan look well on course to retain the Little Brown Jug, leading Minnesota 38-0, in what has been a bit of a beat-down in all honesty. Denard Robinson has looked unstoppable today and our defense has looked brilliant, shutting Minnesota down at every turn.
Stunning first half from the Wolverines! Might as well enjoy this, as I don't like the Patriots' chances tomorrow in Oakland.
51-0 and counting, with 9 minutes left in the 4th quarter and that's without Robinson, who didn't come back on for the 2nd half!
Superb result for us ahead of a difficult road-trip to Northwestern next weekend.
Final from the BIG HOUSE:
Minnesota Golden Gophers 0-58 Michigan Wolverines
Go BLUE!
Wow - what a hard few weeks the Buckeyes have ahead of them:
Today: vs Michigan State
8th Oct: @ #8 Nebraska
15th Oct: @ #24 Illinois
22nd Oct: vs #7 Wisconsin
By contrast, we have:
8th Oct: @ Northwestern
15th Oct: @ Michigan State
22nd Oct: vs Purdue
If we can take the next 3 games, I'd be a wee bit more confident of facing ranked Illinois and Nebraska teams, prior to the Buckeyes arriving in Ann Arbor.
Pittsburgh 44-17 #16 South Florida
#18 Arkansas 42-38 #14 Texas A&M

I watched the Texas A&M game and the Baylor game as well both were good choices IMO, the Florida v Alabama match is on later

Latest:
New York Giants 31-27 Arizona Cardinals - 2 minutes to go.
Jets are in Baltimore later tonight and Indianapolis face the Bucs tomorrow night.
As an aside, how about them #12 ranked Michigan Wolverines
McKnight just ran back a 107 yards kick return
Rex is losing it big style on the sideline. We are playing really bad.
Ravens 27 Jets 17 HT. How we are still in this is beyond me. Ravens should be out of sight.
OK that's that. Game has just finished. Look at the bloody time, 34-17 Ravens win. Has to be up there with 3 of the craziest quarters I've seen in a long time. Worst I've seen us play since Rex came and he won't be happy. Total joke. Said it before and will say it again, this team is going nowhere fast and with the schedule we have I honestly can't see us even making the play-offs.
Check out the QB stats, on both sides .
Have to admire your dedication to stay up and watch it to its grizzly conclusion!
I settled for the highlights this morning and have to say, I expected nothing less than a Ravens win last night - they're a very good team and I fully expect them to be in the AFC Championship game at least this year.
As an aside, how about them Detroit Lions! 4-0 and an impressive comeback yesterday down in Dallas, though once again, Romo pressed the big red button, after getting the Cowgirls into a good position. How long before Dallas realise they're never going to win a Superbowl with this guy leading the charge!
Anyway, update time:

Wish i stuck with Arron Rodgers in my fantasy football team - went with Cam Newton instead - He done allright but was nothing compared to Rodgers
Its good to see the colts at the bottom of the AFC South for a change - im fed up of them always winning it!
That would be class :greengrin
Colts are missing Manning big time - now they know how it feels to be stuck with Kerry Collins haha
I hope Tampa do win tonight as i will be supporting them when they come to Wembley http://www.hibs.net/images/smilies/thumbs%20up.gif
As long as it's not your mob I'll be happy :greengrin. Can't see it though. There's no arguing with their D but their O nearly sucks as bad as ours. Flacco was shocking last night and if he keeps that up they won't even be close. Absolutely bricking it over next week and dreading the thought of your lot ripping us a new one.
Have you seen our D since the season got underway.
So long as you can get to Brady quite as effectively as you managed in the playoff game last year, you have a chance.
A lot can be learned from watching how well Buffalo played our offense.
It's been long held that "defense wins championships" in the NFL, so they (Ravens) look good for now, whilst not exactly struggling to put numbers up on offense.
I don't think it matters who gets to the Superbowl from the AFC, as both the Packers or Lions look like Superbowl winners right now :greengrin
I'd take your D over our O at the moment. We are a power run team who can't run the ball . Our O-Line is struggling big time and if Mangold is still out we can forget about it. On top of that remember that we have Sanchez as our QB and while he gets a lot of unfair stick he still has Schottenheimer calling the plays.
Hopeful we'll have Mangold back as it was brutal against the Ravens last week without him, can't really put much blame on Mark at the moment when he's getting no protection from the O line. Disappointed that Holmes has been shouting his mouth off this past week, not exactly the actions of a captain.
On the plus side the Brady bunch have hardly looked great this year either, Revis will make Welker invisible for 4 quarters, Brady will be blitzed into next week & Bart Scott will breate all the doubters, the Bills will be brought back to Earth by the Eagles and we'll all be 3-2 come Sunday night.

Maybe but then you still got the problem of their tight ends ripping into us. I'm not gonna lie, I really fear the worse. Thought the Patsies would have been on (you know who you are) by now having a go. Ah well guess not so I guess I'll just say;
:flag: J-E-T-S, JETS, JETS, JETS, C'mon GANG GREEN :flag:
:na na::na na::na na::na na::na na::na na::na na::na na::na na::na na:.
You're right enough, we don't have the best defense in the league (certainly not against the run, which is a worry ahead of this weekend), but it almost doesn't matter when we look like scoring every time we go down the field. To say the entire team "doesn't look great" is a bit silly, particularly when Brady is on course to smash all current passing records if he keeps his start up!
I'd certainly like to see us tighten up a bit, but with Haynesworth and Wilfork in centre, we're not an overly mobile defensive unit, hence why the run has proven so successful against us.
Wee bit worried to read that Danny Woodhead, Sebastian Vollmer, Jerod Mayo and Julian Edelmen ALL missed practice and look unlikely to play.
Happy boy this morning.
Off to San Francisco in December for a conference between the 2nd and 12th. Coincidentally, the 49'ers are at home to the Rams on the 4th. A quick glance at stub hub and I managed to get tickets for the 50 yard line, front row for $50 dollars through StubHub - tickets are printed and sitting next to me just now!
Al Davis just died.
Yep, read that earlier - sad news for all associated with the Raiders.
In NCAA, the Oklahoma Sooners are absolutely obliterating Texas right now, 41-10. Anyone willing to bet against the Sooners winning the BCS?
3 horse race between Oklahoma, Bama and LSU imo
Now 48-10.
Ugh, my other alma matter, University of Connecticut, are getting dismantled by West Virginia.
Not been a great season for Huskies football.
As an aside, CFC, you owe me a Michigan badge
TSSF not on a computer now (on my mobile) ill put it up tommorow mate.
Big news, he changed the game forever and only in the last few years became a joke figure. Football wouldn't have been the Same without him. Just win baby!
Big game for my saints today. First time we play Carolina with cam starting. Think however wins could be only NFC south team that wins today.
Michigan Wolverines now 6-0, after a convincing 42-24 win over Northwestern - results from yesterday:
#17 Florida 11-41 #1 LSU
Vanderbilt 0-34 #2 Alabama
#13 Georgia Tech 21-16 Maryland
#16 West Virginia 43-16 Connecticut
#18 South Carolina 54-3 Kentucky
Wake Forest 35-30 #23 Florida State
#19 Illinois 41-20 Indiana
#6 Oklahoma State 70-28 Kansas
#20 Kansas State 24-17 Missouri
#21 Virginia Tech 38-35 Miami (Fl)
#22 Arizona State 35-14 Utah
Notre Dame 55-33 Air Force
#10 Arkansas 38-14 #15 Auburn
#12 Michigan 42-24 Northwestern
#24 Texas A&M 45-40 Texas Tech
#25 Baylor 49-26 Iowa State
#7 Stanford 48-7 Colorado
#14 Nebraska 34-27 Ohio State :na na:
Have you seen our schedule, nightmare. Even without all the carry on of last year and a full roster it would have been hard compared to yours. Only game I can say we will win with any confidence is on the 26th November . Was always going to be difficult and given we are pretty much bowl ineligible it was always a case of getting this season out the way.
On a side note, can we not post pics on here anymore? Found a cracker in relation to tonight's game to share with you all couldn't paste it into the thread .
Enjoyed the LSU game last night i think they just might go all the way.
also some good match ups in the NFL this week
So much for the Philadelphia dream team then.
My, my that has been interesting. The Patsies D really DO suck and are even making Greene look good. Really feared the worse tonight but maybe just maybe we might pull it off. Just look at the difference Magold makes to that line and as usual our D is stepping up. Not getting carried away though as still expect a Patriot win. With Buffalo winning again we really can't afford to fall to far behind but cut out the daft penalties and I'm happy with what I've seen so far.
I've only just been able to turn it on - ended up losing the huskies earlier tonight when I was taking food out to them and have been a bloody mess until we got them back.
Couldn't relax enough to turn it on earlier. Not surprised it's a close game to be honest - I think we're both 2 very average teams this year (though with 7 '3 and outs' and only 2 TD's conceded, we're not THAT bad) and Buffalo look like genuine contenders for the AFC East! We'll see though, we look like we're picking up a little bit now.
I agree DH, your schedule is hellish this season - I'm also not getting carried away - we might be #12 and 6-0, but we've hardly been tested yet! Michigan State next week will be a good test and we also have some ranked teams coming up (Nebraska should obliterate us, Wisconsin won't be easy) and I'm not expecting a win vs OSU, but I definitely don't expect it to be the usual blowout I've grown accustomed to since following the Wolverines.
Good defensive series there, stopping Greene twice and almost sacking Sanchez before he threw it away!
Finally a win for the Vikes but still dont see a future with McNabb, thank god for AP though :not worth
