I don't know if this still happens, standing up on a busy bus to offer an older person your seat. As a bairn I used to do this without having to be told, but when I used to use the bus I can't say I noticed it happening that often. Also, passengers on the bus who watch a mum struggle on with a pram and baby, sometimes with other kids and shopping, stressed having to fold their pram because the allocated space has been taken. I used to always offer to hold the baby or keep an eye on the small kids while the mum folded the pram, I wasn't confident I'd not make matters worse by tackling a pram I wasn't familiar with. Could never understand why people just sat and watched without offering to help. :confused:
