Was really looking forward to a good day out...telly for me now 🇳🇬☹️🇳🇬
Should make securing a ticket a bit easier, but that’s what was an attractive Scottish Cup away day now pretty much ruined.
Megabus to Dundee then bus to Arbroath.
totally gutted by this. our bus booked 2 weeks ago. suddenly, 3 regular groups not going. we are booked into an early pub, but our numbers have dwindled after the nonsence of having to buy online from Arbroath instead of collecting at ER, that upsets lots of our older guys immedietly! what should be a great away day, has now been spoiled by tv, shifting to Sunday, some worried about missing work on Monday etc. Arbroath fc suddenly think they are Barcelona , so you can only buy online from them and there is nae "pods" to buy at the gates. our bus will still be going, but I am raging!! spoke to Arbroathfc today to register our disgust, and was asked if they can get the commercial manager to call me. I said no thanks
As frustrating as it is this is the way is going to go in the future, eventually all tickets will be E tickets or print at home, its more convenient and prevents fraudulent tickets. Why would your guys want the inconvenience of going to ER to collect ticket when they could have it emailed to them instantly? The tv part I agree with, its a shan time for a kick off on a Sunday. As for missing work on the Monday if the game doesn't go to Extra time and pens then you'd be back in Edinburgh/East Lothian for 5pm easy.
Of course I don't know their circumstances but I don't think the fact that they can't collect tickets from ER is reasonable excuse for not going to a game, not trying to be a smart arse or pick an argument but e tickets and print at home is much easier than slogging to ER to get them. Maybe they could give ticket money to someone and they could buy the tickets and print them off for them if they have trouble online. Hell if you want transfer me the money for how many tickets you need and I'll print them and deliver them to you personally if you want so your guys can go. Don't want folk missing out on a game due to technology issue.
appreciate your concerns and advice, but 2 of my guys today actually said ****** that, its like they dinnae want our money! and , both are early starts Monday. added to that, when they hit home to Edin, they would definately want a beer and they then have to get to midlothian. Sunday has spoiled it mainly, but a few are really annoyed at the ticketing system
I'm a janitor at a primary school and start at 6.30am. Given that I also have an early start in no way would enter my mind set that a 12.00pm KO would prevent me from going to a game, that would see me back home for 7.00 at the latest. In saying that I did go to Dingwall recently for the midweek game and never got back home till after 1am.
Arbroath are live on telly tonight so a good opportunity to see what they’re like
Train from Waverley to Dundee showing up as delayed... Uh oh
EDIT: In case its useful for anyone, ScotRail Twitter has responded to someone saying they're hoping it will be a 30min delay.
Just arrived in Dundee, it's a tad damp!
Next to no wind today. No excuses. Just win.
Good gathering of Hibs Fans on the X7.
