:agree: Although I wouldn't call them leaders.

nothing to comment on so all we get is vacuous hyperbole from bored net anoraks.
"Show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser" We can't argue with that general idea. The so called happy clappers appear to be saying it's alright to f up year after year otherwise they wouldn't be siding with a club that has seen it's side dipping to the point of relegation when it should be sitting in the top six. I can only accept one of two options one is to complain even if it is only here the other is to accept us performing well below where we should be. That seems to be the two camps on here. I'm doing my best to support the club, I bought my season ticket as soon as they went up on sale, despite everything. However, I won't be quiet when it's obvious that there are people running our club who are not improving the dire situation we are in. I do accept that it could turn out we who complain are being amongst other things premature. However, my gut instinct only occasionally lets me down when it comes to Hibs, and currently I am concerned that we don't have what we need in players, and pre season is over. If our club is looking closely at the other clubs which I guess they will be and if they are settling for being better than one or two so as to save on money and stay up, then they don't meet my expectations. I am no longer a supporter that will follow the club in to the first division (I did the last time) but since then we have become a different club which has had ample opportunity to grow the fan base and continually have failed to do it. That affects you and me. That is not Hibs fault but it is the fault of individuals who are leading and guiding the club. You can't support the club with out supporting those individuals. While the club deserves our support always, those individuals do not, when they are clearly not up to it. This season will show us if they are or are not.
Go to any football match, and howls of derision will happen. Hibs are no worse than any other club, but some want to make any excuse other than blame those who are responsible for those howls of derision, and blame the supporters instead?
We'd all like to have a support who got behind the team on match day 100%, and i wish there was no abuse, but we are no different to ANY other teams support.
I have been to watch Blackpool play quite a lot, and their fans are up there with the best in britain at getting behind their club. They have a fantastic atmosphere when going well, but if they are losing its worse than anything i have heard at easter road.
Nish set to end career at hibs. Mark my words....
That's one thing that grinds my back teeth is when so called fans shout abuse at players...I was just about fighting with two brothers in the FF, every week they would slag big Nishy off (no funny comments please) and I mean disgustingly in front of kids too! The thing is the big man probably had his best season that year, he scored a few goals and he set up Fletcher with 5 assists in around a dozen matches .
What gets me, it's usually guys that look like they have never kicked a ball in their whole life that slag our players!!
I played semi pro for years and if I had set foot on the ER turf I would have looked utter sh*te, some people don't understand the level these players are playing at and if they are up against say an internationilst playing for Celtic who are at an even higher level, they look out of sorts.
I have always thought (could I have done better) before shouting anything to make the player feel a fool.
I remember away back when Joe Tortolano got dogs abuse EVERY GAME, maybe not the best player but he was trying his hardest - Me and my brother played in a pre-season friendly against him v Hibs and we seen him 3 times - the start, half time and at the end when shaking hands - he was so fast and great with the ball but when he was in front of the supporters he was sh*t scared to try anything as he was abused so much.
We have to support players, not shout obscenities at them!
Rant over...
GGTTH

You know that's quite a weird thing. While I vent my frustration/anger at the people who are ruining sorry mis spelt that, I meant running our club on here I never shout at one player in any derisory way during or after a match. I have shouted at the entire team when it's obvious they are slacking but not individuals. I find that hard to handle during a game when I hear others pick on individuals . I think the worst I've shouted to a player is when I called out to David Wotherspoon that he'd have to be a bit tougher in his tackles only to see him being substitued minutes later because he was carrying an injury. So i felt like sh**.
You've selected one sentence out of a multiple sentences. It's only semantics Andy, people are saying that we shouldn't be so vociferous or words to that affect. So the assumption is if they are not vociferous then they think that all is well. It's a pity you didn't read it all because my main points follow that.
Ive been in a few arguments/almost fights at ER, when theres some knob picking on a Hibs player, I will get up and shout my support for the player, I did notice around me there were one or two like minded Hibs supporters who also began to shout encouragement out to the player, the guys who normally are swearing and shouting sit down and shutup when outnumbered, maybe its time to organise?
If somebody makes a real total screw up, I can appreciate some abuse of sorts in response, but some of it really is ridiculous.
Best example I remember was I think against Gretna, boy behind me spent the first 60 odd minutes chanting for Alan O'Brien to come on, on he comes to much applause from this guy. First touch of the ball, O'Brien miss hits it, same guy immediately roars 'O'BRIEN! YOU'RE F*****G S***E!'
That kind of things is ridiculous, and can't be good for the squad.
We can all pick out individual pieces of abuse, i thought Colin Nish was an awful player, and witnessed him getting abuse that stopped him in his tracks, he was visibly shaken by it. Its not right, it shouldn't happen, but we shouldn't think we are the worst at this, or it doesn't happen at each and every other ground in the country.
I think we should do all we can to stop this abuse at the games, it does not help at all.
I think it is getting blown out of proportion, I think and it is IMO most of the shouts from folk not all but most never reach pitch over noise, I think our players will worry about a lot more than some folk shouting yer p1sh.
I agree though some is uncalled for when it is abount non football our before a ball is kicked but during a match IMO I hear more negative single shouts than positive but as a whole when it is group I hear a lot of positives ie clapping, and if I hear on mass booing then I think that is when players need to look at their performance rather than the support at themselves.
If we beat Utd that's true. If we then go on a 13 game unbeaten run, the bubble will be about to burst. If we get a decent cup run, it will be favourable draws and why can we play like this in the league. If we win the league, Celtic were poor, we'll never be able to repeat it. If we win 21 league titles on the trot and not the 22nd, the .net response will be 'Told you it wouldn't last'.
I think Spike outlined that I like a wind up, which is true and does dilute my more serious posts because of the form that this creates and the reason I have that form is that I love Hibs, come here to discuss Hibs and get so overwhelmed with the absurdity of many of the posts and opinions, I decide to have a wind up or two to cheer myself up.
However, in sobriety and seriousness, Kerr has been offered terms.
Honestly a dont get some hibs fans the season aint even kicked off yet and use are all going on about 4-0 defeats off united beaten off hearts now united have done the best of keeping there squad lost pernis but brought in a new gk who played great last night but hearts have lost a 17goal scorer from last season and brought noone into replace whilst we have a guy who has already proven he can score 10+ so stop with all the bull now we have a good team they just need to focus 100% on every game this season league and cup so dont start all this our squad is crap thread this is meant to be your team why dont use back them all instead off putting them all down :@
Agree with that BH, wins, and the fans are right behind you, keep losing like we are at home and the paying customer will have a good moan about it.
But the way our support turned on Nishy was nothing short of disgusting, i used to sit next to his brother and he would just get up and leave the game before he done something stupid, it went way past booing and shouts of "Nishy stay on your feet", even when he was not playing and a sub warming up folk were giving him dogs abuse from the stands.
Too many kid on managers/players sitting in the stands thinking they could do better when in reality they couldn't, but because they play football manager on a computer game they think they are experts, the best ones are , "I could do better than him he is f***ing s**** and you look at them who are doing the shouting and think to yourself it's quite clear they wouldn't last five minutes on the pitch before collapsing in a pile.
I agree with all that you have said. I would love my wee boy to play for Hibs, but why would I want him to progress a career that is short lived, be the subject of sometimes vicious chants and comments from supporters of other teams and told "your ****" by his own supporters. I would much rather focus his future somewhere else.
Longest sentence ever on hibs.net?
A few well placed commas, full stops and a spell check wouldn't have gone a miss.
:nerd:
I do agree with your comments on the negativity. I think we should at least wait until after the inevitable 4-0 on Sunday before we start moaning.
