On the A1 this morning, travelling east. Came up behind a car doing around 65 in the right hand lane, no-one else on that stretch of road. After a mile or so, i flashed him to move over, no reaction. I did it again, he moved over and passed him. No sooner had I done this than he moved back to the right!
Something similar happened a fortnight ago on the same road. Is Tuesday the local idiots day out?
When the rules changed, apparently, to allow the fastest moving vehicle approaching a roundabout to have the right of way, regardless of who reached and crossed the lines first.
The 40 and 50 limit on the A1 going East from the Craighall roundabout. Everyone's just ignoring it.
The idiot today who decided he was going to drive up my arse on Old Dalkeith Road whilst I was sitting at 30mph. Slowed down to 27 because **** him and they immediately tried to over take me and just about got smashed by a bus. Absolute moron.
Motorcycle specific. The absolute areshole in the grey Golf gti who pulled across into the middle of the road while I was filtering through stationary traffic in Callander. 100% deliberate as I saw her watch me in her wing mirror. If I hadn't been paying attention I would have either hit her or the hgv coming the other way.
Drivers that give confusing signals. Like the woman who was in front of me at a red light tonight in the lane to turn right but was indicating left. Although our light was on red, the light to go ahead or left was green. Then inexplicably she nudged herself over the line after the left/ahead light turned red and we were still on red. I kept my distance when the light turned green and indeed she still turned right with the left indicator going…. She then indicated left at a roundabout but turned right again!
Booked my car for its second service last month and at same time booked a courtesy car for this morning, went to Arnold Clark this morning and no courtesy car, was raging, my missus had a hospital appointment later in the day, AC were just not willing to help me, I had no money on me just my bank card, had to walk until I came across a ATM, which was at the top of Easter Road, nasty blister sock soaked in blood, decided to get a bus home, first time in over twenty years, wasn’t to bad so got one going back to pick my car up, ffs it was a nightmare, guy steaming on the bus swearing like a trooper and a weird old guy chatting to young girls on the bus, I had to tell him to shut up as the girls didn’t seem to like the questions he was asking them.
I had considered getting rid of my car and using public transport, today put me right of that and I will stick with the car.
*******s that jump the queue to the Queensferry Crossing by going over the wee flyover bit, bending their run and joining the queue just before the bridge.
I spend an unhealthy amount of time staring at these vehicles, remembering their registration plates or signage on the vans and making a point of either forcibly not letting them join at the other end or mouthing off at them when I go past them further along the road.
“How did that wee shortcut work out for you silly cant” is probably my oft-used phrase.
I think I possibly need to seek help.
People not using fog lights.
Fog was horrendous last night and the number of people not using their fog lights, particularly the rear ones, on streets with no lighting was ridiculous.
I’ve made the point before that the number of people you see with no lights on at all in poor conditions is ridiculous.
I have a theory that many people think their DRL’s are the same as their normal lights and just assume they have lights on, most likely completely unaware that in most cases DRL’s are only on the front of their vehicle and the back lights are not on at all.
Pricks who nearly hit your car by moving out in front of you unsafely as you’re about to pass the, in the outside lane - if the car in front is going too slowly for you, you’ve had tonnes of time to make that decision and move out safely, why force your way out at the last second?!
People who park on corners :grr:
Especially around Albion Place/Albion Road
The queensferry crossing being dropped, continually, to 40mph with no apparent reason! :furious::brickwall
weekend after weekend it happens, and causes tailbacks for miles on both sides! When the bridge was being built, one of the selling points was that the Forth Road Bridge had to slow the traffic down but the new bridge would be able to keep the traffic running at 70. Farcical
When you ask someone if they can drive and they answer “ yes I can drive but I don’t have a licence. 😡
Folk that don't move back to the left lane after overtaking drive me nuts. I saw similar to you on the M74 / M6 southbound a few years ago, where a boy insisted on being on the far right hand lane of the 3 lane motorway even though the road was very quiet. Polis should start fining folk for this.
Maybe not so much of a peeve but motorway phenomenum. Where does the traffic come from M74 to M6? There can be about 5 cars on the motorway driving south, Welcome to England and suddenly there's 3 lanes full, miles before Todhills

Mentioned before but folk on motorways or A roads that don't move to the right hand lane or allow you in when merging from a slip road.

Joining the motorway. When you join the motorway you will normally approach it from a road on the left (a slip road) or from an adjoining motorway. You should
give priority to traffic already on the motorway
check the traffic on the motorway and match your speed to fit safely into the traffic flow in the left-hand lane
People who won't let you merge in when you go to the end of a lane to merge in turn due to a closure.
What is the issue? 'Merge in turn in 800 yards' means exactly that. It doesn't mean 'Panic, merge in after 50 yards, sit in a clogged lane for 750 yards, slow the traffic further than it needs to be then look smug because someone who understands zip merging can't get into your lane'.
If everyone utilised both lanes for their entirety then left space at the end of the closed lane to allow cars to merge then the traffic would flow better for everyone.
