For all the talk about football fans, rugby fans are one hundred times worse.

It was a crazy night difference from the football is the whole of Murrayfield head for the centre. It was like the zombie apocalypse late on as people were wandering about trying to get a home somehow. The taxi/ph can’t keep up with the demand.
Got sent this last night by a mate. He said if these two were football fans then they would be going to court tomorrow morning after spending the weekend in Torphicen street or Gayfield nick. He’s right as well.

Seemed a lot with cans in the stadium usually tennents but bottles poured. Maybe changed to giving an open can?
And why do the police tolerate there behaviour had that been football fans the cells would have been packed last night, but rugby fans are allowed to pee in the streets and walk on the roads rather than use the pavements, I was parked opposite Club Tropicana and these two idiots tried to get in my car thinking I was a taxi and when I told them to piss off they got a bit annoyed and started giving me abuse, they got a wee fright when the folk I was picking up pushed them out the way, idiots.
I was scared to stop anywhere central as the baying mob appeared at the window wanting me to take them home some getting pretty aggressive.
Ended up working the west of the city instead.
The atmosphere just seems more toxic now maybe many out of match practice drinking the last couple of years but people seem to be getting wasted earlier.
The rugby crowd has always been a handful as it’s not really about the rugby but the day out instead.
It's about the rugby for Me. Game, out and home, delighted as I was on Saturday night, if we win. Gutted if we get beat.
Same as football, never understood the "day out" brigade, especially at hampden... as if you'd go there for a day out.

Hibs fans describing any difficult away game as "a free hit" 🤔 see huns v Hibs thread for examples!
Free hit??? FFS is a game against a league rival we've all seen us beat before!
What's all this defeatist *****?
I assume those who are of this mindset will simply accept the result and move on - even if we do lose.
Surely they wouldn't have the sheer hypocrisy to come on here afterwards and moan about the performance/players/manager?
Folk who just can’t follow instructions. I thought I was explaining things badly to a guy at work as he just doesn’t seem to get anything I ask, until today I asked to look at XYZ, ABC and EFG on a spreadsheet that are all listed one after another. He sent me a message saying “I don’t follow, I can see XYZ but not ABC and EFG” followed by a screenshot showing ABC and EFG listed under XYZ. This followed by several other similar things… “use table A for task 1 and table B for task 2”. Half an hour later, he video calls me “this looks wrong”… that’s because you are using Table A on task 2, use table B.
“Oh but there’s no table B”
Yes there is, I can see it on your shared screen directly below Table A!!!
People who have a totally unreasonable reaction to a mistake.
I went to donate blood the other night. Thought I had booked for exactly 12 weeks after my last donation. Arrived on time, was asked the usual covid questions at the door then taken to the reception to check in. Was informed I couldn't donate as it hadn't been 12 weeks since my last donation, I asked how long it had been and was told 11 weeks and 6 days. This was 6pm so we are talking a difference of 6 hours, asked if I could give anyway, was told no because even though nothing would happen if I did faint and hurt myself or whatever they haven't officially followed the rules. I asked how this had happened as the online booking system doesn't allow you to book until the 12 weeks has passed, the nurse said there had been a glitch and it had happened to a few people. I accepted this with good grace, waved away her apology and said I would rebook for next week. It's annoying but mistakes happen from time to time.
Guy next to me had the same issue and was going ****ing nuts. Ranting and raving at the nurse dealing with him and dropped the line 'I'm here saving lives and this is how I'm treated, I'll never be back'. Aye very selfless mate, I won't give blood again because I was inconvenienced that one time. Deal with it; even if you are unhappy, what is ranting away like a moron going to achieve? It's not going to change anything.
The amount of people online particularly on the lost Edinburgh sites who like to reminisce about how good Princes Street used to be but can’t even spell it correctly. Forever seeing Princess Street
I'm always amused and annoyed in equal measure by said people reminiscing about how great Princes Street was and their comments about 'Used to always go to Jenners with my Gran', 'Binns was such a great shop, everything in one place' and 'loved the tea rooms there, such a shame they are gone'. All of them stating what a tragedy it is none of them are around now. When you ask when they were last in town they will tell you it was sometime in about 1987. They never seem to realise they are literally part of the reason why none of these places exist anymore.
Princes Street and the gardens like most of central Edinburgh are a manky disgusting mess. There's tacky shops and even the bus stops are a embarrassment. I don't know why its been allowed to get in this state. A once pristine area that my parents use to enjoy taking us but I walked along there on Friday and its was sad to see. Maybe a big investment in this area is required. (Tourist tax?)..
Car is in at the garage getting MOT ready so bus to work today.
Busy bus, people standing and yet still there are people putting bags on seats and refusing to move them.
Selfish pricks.
Companies that don’t honour what they’ve told you in writing.
We were booked to go to London in October and had booked to go to the View From The Shard. We both got covid so couldn’t go. Emailed them to ask what we needed to do, e.g. claim on the ticket insurance and rebook, or (as every other tourist attraction we had booked did) just let them know once we had a new date in mind).
They replied saying no need to claim on the ticket insurance, that they had kept a note on our file and to simply reply to that email once we had rebooked our trip, stating a preferred date and time to visit and that would be that.
We’ve rebooked so I replied as instructed only to be told that they were confused why I was asking to do this (erm… read the email I had replied to) as what I needed to do was claim via the ticket insurance and rebook.
I got back pointing out that this was what I had been told to do in writing. I’ve just received a really unprofessional response, reiterating that they wouldn’t honour what they had told me and even stated the member of staff who told me this had been disciplined!
I think it’s too late to claim now.
if you can find out the name of the CEO or equivalent, email them directly, explaining that their staff have caused you financial issues through their misinformation, and you’d like them to look into that and also reimburse you for the money you’ve spent since the fault lies with their company.
it might not work but you never know
Shoes and trainers sizing.
I have 50+ pairs of Adidas trainers and generally know what size I need for them, certain silhouettes you need go half a size up or down. For example I know I'm always a 12 in Adidas Gazelles but the 2019 city series like the Brussels and Amsterdams are too big in a 12 so I need to go half a size down to an 11.5 but the 2022 city series are all TTS (true to size) so I get my usual size 12.
But Timberland, **** me man. I know they're big made and are wide shoes and all sold with the American size being the size advertised (watch out for that). I ordered a pair of the classic 3 eye boat shoes at an absolute bargain price in a UK11.5 and thats a US12, half down from my normal trainer size and when they arrived they were miles too big and slipping of me feet when I was trying them on, sent them back and ordered a size UK11 instead. They arrived today and while they do fit there is still a little bit more room than I anticipated. Never known sizing to be so difficult when dealing with Timberland. Absolutely mental.
Couriers.
I detest wasting time, especially working hours as inevitably I still have to do the same amount of work, but in less time.
Stay in all afternoon for a courier pick-up for an expensive piece of kit that has to be picked up from my house.
Make sure I'm in before the alloted window of arrival of "Kieran" and just as it looks like the window is about to down shut, I get simultaneous emails and texts apologising for Kieran missing me and he'll attempt again on Monday.
The picture of "my house" isn't even my house, same number but different street.
An irrational rage had just come over me that I haven't experienced in years!
I've actually spat the dummy and I will most definitely not be in the next time they're coming and the recipient of this kit can go swivel 🤣
Thing is that sort of thing happens when the weather is fine. A couple of weeks ago I waited in for an Amazon delivery as I got the “it’s 8 stops away” alert and the tracker appeared. Quite a while later I see that I’m 2 stops away and Inlook out and the van is there. The guy is delivering to my neighbour. I’m then 1 stop away, nothing happens then all of a sudden I get an alert that I wasn’t in so it couldn’t be delivered. Well I was in. The door wasn’t knocked. The bell wasn’t rung. The motion detection on the doorbell wasn’t set off. He either got the wrong house or couldn’t be arsed and went off on his lunch.
The weather has not been that bad in West Edinburgh today. A few mm of snow this morning but gone when the rain came around 10:00hrs.
But, this was nothing to do with weather, the driver went to the wrong door, took a picture of the wrong door as evidence then proceeded to drive past my house.
I'm just frustrated as I had to stay in the house to have this item picked up because of its value. I can't even have my wife hand it over who works from home some days.
And I don't have the option of dropping it off elsewhere, depot etc and I can't have it picked up at my place of work.
Maddening.
Was waiting on a rare, very hard to find pair of trainers in my size coming the other day. UPS were the carriers and I got an email on Thursday morning telling my parcel would be delivered between 08:45 and and 12:45. Great, thats fine I put off plans until the afternoon. Deadline comes and goes and nothing. Checked the tracking again and now it says by the end of the day. Raging because that can be up to 7pm at night according to their website. They eventually turned up and had past 3. Not happy like. Its bollocks when you pay for special delivery and get shafted like that.
Had a Hermes delivery a while back that seemed to mess us around with "couldn't find your house" "roadworks (non-existent) nearby stopped our progress" etc
Eventually they turned up at about 10pm 3 days later and I was chatting to the woman as she got to the door. She mentioned that she had loads of parcels still in her van to deliver but "don't think I'll bother now".
It's not the drivers fault, it'll be a shift calculation that overloads them with parcels and gives no headspace to allow for delays and then backlogs will accumulate.
Hermes are an absolute joke of a delivery company. Parcels often go missing and arrive damaged. I've had a few deliveries from them where the box my trainers are in is bashed or ripped. Seen some pictures online where the box has been completely destroyed. Parcels have also been stolen by the delivery driver as well. Their customer service is shocking and they were called out on it in the media a while back. Its got to the point now that if a store uses Hermes as their courier then I won''t buy from them unless I absolutely have to as I just do not trust them to get my parcel to me in one piece.
I’ve got a Hermes delivery that is still showing on the app as out for delivery on 21st December. Was a Christmas present that I had to go out on Christmas Eve and buy another because it didn’t arrive. Was originally meant to come on 17th. I’ve been refunded by the retailer but it’s still on my app. I’m convinced they’ve left it there to wind me up.
Studying a menu online before visiting a restaurant and knowing exactly what you want...
"Sorry, the online menu is out of date. We don't do the lamb anymore"
:dizzy:
I uswd Hermes to send repaired resporatory equipment to Glasgow Royal and addressed it to a specific department.
The driver put "unable to deliver" on the package.
I was sent a message saying that they would retry delivery within 2 days.
Another message saying unable to deliver.
Another message saying they would try again.
Another unable to deliver ....and so it went on for 2 months 😂
Turns out the drivers wont go to specific depts but didnt even think of dropping it off at goods in/stores.
I had to contact the CEO to sort it out.
Lazy barstewards.
You might find the stores won't accept packages not addressed to them. I got one storeman trying to get me to deliver a 6 part consignment all over the hospital. He was told he either signs for the lot or it goes back.
Hermes are the worst of a bad bunch but pay peanuts and you get monkeys.
Adidas have driven me nuts recently. I ordered a pair of football boots for my sons birthday, a few days later the parcel arrived but it contained a size 10 ladies sweatshirt instead of boots. You have to chat to them on WhatsApp now which was like wading through toffee, typing then waiting 10 mins for a reply. They didn't believe me so I had to send pics then I was told to return it but if I wanted boots I'd have to order again. I said I wasn't ordering again as the boots were £200 and they'd then have £400 of my money and god knows what I'd get delivered . One guy got really stroppy when I refused to go pick a pair up in Manchester ! Eventually they got my return but didn't refund my money, I'd bought the boots elsewhere but way after his birthday. I had to chase them constantly to refund my money. I even got an email saying there was a delay with my refund but they gave no reason for it. I had to raise a claim with PayPal and strangely enough was refunded that day. I've used them loads in the past but will never use them again. All in all from order to refund took about a month.
Bus stations, shopping centres etc. that charge to use their toilets.
Not letting a customer take a piss because they don’t have loose change on them is fairly ****ty.
FWIW I always buy boots from Pro Direct (https://www.prodirectsoccer.com/) – on the one occasion they sent me the wrong boots they were easy enough to deal with to sort it out and gave me a voucher as a good will gesture.
When Waverly changed to free use I assumed it was maybe part of a wider change that made all public toilets free to use.
I understand the flip side though - people won't look after them then they need to be maintained and that's pricey, someone has to foot the bill.
If you make the shopping centres nicer then people come in, spend more money and they can make the money that way.
Dundee has two shopping centres - the Overgate is quite nice and has free toilets, coffee shops where you can watch the world go by and it's a busy place. The Wellgate is a total dump, is always absolutely dead and charge for the loos.
You don't mind going into the former but the latter is a visit of last resort.
Driving to work.
I've walked for the best part of the last 2 years but due to circumstances I'm having to drive for the next couple of weeks. I take my hat off to anyone who can do that every day in Edinburgh, it's an absolute ****ing nightmare.
42 minutes to travel just over 5 miles today, I can walk it in an hour. From the completely unfit for purpose roads around my house that have had zero infrastructure improvements despite the massive expansions at Fort Kinnaird over the years and thousands of new houses being built to the shambles that is trying to cross Leith Walk it was just about the worst possible way to start the day. I cannot wait to be able to leave the car at home again asap.
The use of 'sign' instead of 'sing'
Bad enough on a football forum but the BBC scottish football gossip page says that Scott Brown was singed by Aberdeen as a coach.
😡
Had to get to the foot of Easter Road today from Livingston. I'd have generally gone through town and crossed Leith Walk via Annadale St. The traffic backed up as you can't turn right into Ingles Green Road on the A71 meant Ferry Road was the only option I knew was open. Think there's blockages Broughto/ Bennington. Ferry Road wasn't too bad but Junction Street and the one way diversions were awful. Its why I use my bus pass to get to games

Folk who allow big dogs of the leashes on footpaths, I was bitten when I was young by a Alsatian and have always had a wee fear of dogs and I’m sure they can sense that, a Alsatian came at me yesterday and the owner was shouting it back and saying it safe as it’s a big softy, that doesn’t put my mind at rest, really bugs me.
That is a proper pet peeve. :greengrin
I could have written that! I have more than a wee fear of dogs as I’ve been attacked three times when I was younger, once actually on a footpath where one bit my arse.
“It won’t do anything” is the usual response, as you say. There’s folk in our street that obviously don’t believe in leads as their dogs are never on one. Firstly, that makes me nervous as someone who has a fear of dogs, but more so it is a nightmare when you are driving as they are just running freely on the road
We were up in Inverness last year for a wee break and had a walk along the river, I'm generally very good with dogs (wife calls me the dog whisperer). There was a guy sat on a bench with a medium sized dog, I bent over to clap it and it snapped at me. He then says oh aye watch out he's a biter. Well then mate if he is then get a ****ing muzzle on him and tell people not to approach and try and clap him ffs.
I remember from many years back from attending a course in animal care at the Dick Vet. The instructor told us to never approach a dog you don’t know with an open hand and to only offer the dog a tightly clenched fist. The reason is two fold, every dog it’s first instinct is to get your scent so you let them sniff you, secondly if the dog is a “biter” then it is more difficult for it to bite you as you haven’t got any fingers or a flat hand exposed that it can easily latch onto.

There is an ordering process in my work called 'back to back'. Basically if a large order of non core stock items is for one customer you can process the sales order so that it automatically creates and sends a purchase order to the relevant supplier. It's a real time saver and so simple, it literally involves ticking one box and selecting 'consolidated' from a drop down box.
There is a woman in my office who has been here longer than me and every single time she does this I have to show her how it's done. She has written it down, I've walked her through it, she's been shown by everyone in the office at least 5 times each but every single time you hear the huffing then the muttering and the finally the 'can someone help me with this?'
Does my head in.

Tradesmen. I’ve got 2 in the now, the gardener gets stuck in and will have the job finished on time, the painter turns up, drinks all my coffee and ****s off after a couple of hours saying he can’t do anything until whatever bit dries or he’s sealed something. He’s doing a good job, but my god he’s going to be here for weeks at this rate.
This new orange-coloured (vitamin c?) advert that surrounds hibs.net and stops you actually clicking on threads while it’s up.
Been plenty of ads for a while but this is first one I’ve ever noticed that actually interrupts your browsing… other than inadvertently making you click on them as the screen jumps around.
Note - just a pet peev, not an official complaint or dig at admins 😁
Children being entertained by phones/ipads in restaurants often with volume on. Fair enough McDonald's for a short period but not in restaurants over a three course meal with other diners. Lazy, selfish, parenting.
When we were in London last weekend, we were amazed by the amount of folk that took young children to quite child-unfriendly restaurants, often going in quite late, e.g. kids that must have been no older than 7, wandering into a high-end (formerly Michelin starred) Indian restaurant at 9.15pm. We don’t have kids but if we did, we’d be basing our dining choices around the kids’ schedule and requirements, not our own - or get a babysitter for the odd treat.
On another note, I think any sort of dress code has gone out the window since covid. Folk in trackies in nicer places, etc.
Companies that badger you with phone calls after purchasing from them. Bought a washing machine from AO and paid for installation, recycling of the old one etc and they've called me nearly every day trying to get me to take out insurance on it as well. The whole thing has cost me £500 and if they think I'm giving them even more money then they are very much mistaken. I'm very close to blocking the number but cant just now as its not been delivered yet. Pissing me right off they are.
Folk that don’t wait for those getting off a tram/train/tube to actually get off before getting on.
Dishwashers that leave things unwashed.
Just **** off.

People who post driving pet peeves in the pet peeves thread, instead of the driving pet peeves thread.
1. When your partner thinks she’s being helpful by bringing the wheelie bin in on bin day, but hasn’t actually checked to see if it is empty. I then go to put something in it to find it is still full.
2. She doesn’t learn her lesson and does the same thing with the recycling wheelie bin the next week and I go to put recycling in it that wouldn’t fit for today’s uplift, only to find that’s full too.
People who reply to a post on social media saying the OP isn’t valid because there’s more serious issues in the world.
Example: I’m a member of a Facebook group for users of Sonos products. Someone has posted that they’ve bought a subwoofer and can’t get it to work, tried all the things Sonos have suggested, to no avail and as a result they are getting really pissed off.
First reply: I’m sorry you’ve been inconvenienced but there’s children being killed in Ukraine as we speak so a bit of perspective.
So because there’s an awful atrocity being committed in Ukraine, you can’t complain or have a moan about anything else?
The adverts all over YouTube for some gambling website with a "modern vampire". I know it's an actor playing a part but I couldn't possibly tire of slapping him.
A couple of ones that arose when I was at the gym last night.
1. Folk that don’t lock the locker that they’ve used. I must have opened around 5 lockers that were seemingly free only to find stuff in them.
2. Public displays of affection in the gym. It’s not needed! I was on a machine and this couple were stood in front of me (maybe a couple of metres away), full on deep French kissing and feeling each other up. I couldn’t really look anywhere else given what I was doing. This went on for what seemed like an eternity, not just a quick kiss and move on.
Things that arrive with things in them that get duplicated a million times over.
I got a new router for the internet and it arrived with ethernet and power cables that we’ve already got millions of and will only end up chucking out.
My work recently replaced all our screens in the office (about 20 in total), all of them came with all the cabling that we already had duplicates of, and there doesn’t seem to be any way to return the cables to be used again. As a result we have literal boxes of cabling that we have no use for.
I recently got gifted a Dewalt strimmer for my birthday, but as it came with a battery it came with charger of which I already have three, and again there’s no way I’ve seen to return them to be re used. I have no use for a second, let alone a third.
