Kasper Schmeichel showed leadership and composure throughout all of that. Was straight over to comfort Christian’s wife too. I believe he was one of the first on the scene when the helicopter crash happened at Leicester. Seems like a brilliant man.
That was incredibly distressing to watch, my heart sank when I saw they were giving him CPR ... can't believe how shaken I am even now, the pictures of his wife being comforted by some of the Danish players were absolutely heartbreaking. Brilliant to hear he is awake, lets hope for the best.
By the rule book a game that can't be completed is played the next day starting at the same point and score at which it was stopped.
I don't envy the person at UEFA who has to make the decision around this one. I can't see how they can ask the Danish or Finnish players to play anytime soon.
Like others, I was in tears and distraught. Encouraging news that he is pulling through.
I hope every player who has rolled around umpteen times feigning injury as if they were shot by a sniper is thoroughly ashamed of their behaviour and conduct.
A real opportunity here, if the football community can come together, to stamp out pretendy injuries.

For all those moaning about the "shocking" and "disgraceful" coverage...and it is all over twitter....just turn the telly off. If it was so bad and you were traumatised by it then stop watching it. You're in control of the pictures.
But let's blame somebody else. They didn't make you watch it.
Eriksen has been speaking, according to his agent.
Surely by such a delay the game may actually be back on. Why keep the fans so long if not?
There must be at least a couple of players in the next game who know Eriksen? Lukaku definitely from Inter and a couple from Spurs as well maybe?
Tough gig for them to go out and play tonight now.
Oh… breaking news, apparently they will play again tonight! That is a big surprise.
It should be fairly simple. If both squads agree they want to go out and play then you finish the game tonight.
If not you follow the rules and restart it on a different day. In theory that should be tomorrow but in reality there is time to fit it in elsewhere.
The game will be continued tonight at 20:30 Danish time.
The final four minutes of the first half will be played then a five minute break before the second half continues.
If the players want to play then it's the right decision imo. I can understand why they would feel that way.
Agree entirely. If the coverage had gone I’d have been left wondering what was happening. Some folk calling the pictures involving his wife tasteless. Same pics also showed the great comfort people can give others in times of need - as a few other posters have also mentioned. Glad he appears to be pulling through. So glad.
Wow! Game to resume tonight. This is going to be emotional
Whilst I appreciate your opinion I think it is in pretty poor taste how this has been handled.
Maybe folk are not moaning but getting things off their chest at what they have seen? It’s good to talk!
It’s not about blame either. Somebody else should have taken control and no one should have seen the treatment etc.
The BBC have a duty to ensure what they show is suitable and they failed to do that imho.

Looks like I may be in the minority here but this lambasting of the BBC for not cutting coverage sooner?
I don’t agree with most of your thoughts. This was a live event where something serious happened. The only way to keep abreast of what was a horrific situation was imho to stay with the live pictures.
Those who saw it unfold only had concerns for Eriksen and his team mates. In no way did the BBC suddenly think to themselves, wow this is juicy, gory, and just what the nation wants at tea time on a Saturday. No - they were covering an evolving international news event that was of interest not only to followers of football but I’m sure the general public as well.
And finally, although they did eventually cut back briefly to the studio before the broadcast was ended, spare a thought for those in the studio who were visibly shocked and no doubt needed time to compose themselves to comment briefly.
I have no qualms whatsoever on how this was handled. Sorry if folk disagree with me.
