What Happened to Soccer Aid?

Remember when this was a fun thing , all about the celebrities having a laugh with the pro players. All commentary is about now is England ( hopefully ) winning against the rest of the world.

Tevez is making sure England don't win.

Did they not have Maradonna playing in the first one? Sure I remember him and Lothar Matthaus getting the pantomime boos.

Tbf getting Rivaldo and Rooney involved is impressive but it was always going to be downhill from Diego himself.

I always love how seriously Robbie Keane takes it. You just know he's the guy who pitches up at 5s in a full kit with shin pads and verbally abuses the fat lad making up numbers for the full hour.

That was pretty fun viewing to be fair.

I miss the days of Ben Sheppard, Jonathan Wilkes and Robbie Williams treating it like a World Cup final for Engerlund. There were times I'd probably have felt an actual major tournament win for England would have been more bearable than an England Soccer Aid win.

Do they ever really explain why some of the ROW team - both Scousers as it happens? - are actually English? Or does it not really matter?

Yep Too much three lions, representing England, talking like the celebrity has been called up in the commentary now..., great when they get beat though

Do other countries play a world 11 or is it just held in Englandshire ?

I'm not to sure about Big zuu on how he started, i know he had some cooking show but not sure if he started on youtube and Angry Ginge is a streamer who gained a good following quickly, good money if you can get big at it.
