Got my sister in law looking for a Leith or Central Edinburgh located "gastropub"-esque place with a properly separate "function room" to use the probably old fashioned term for a birthday party where wee kids will be present (it's not a kids birthday party though, it's hers)
Any recommendations from recent experience?
Nice food is a "requirement"
Depending on how many there’ll be, The Raeburn has a private room with a private bar. Child and dog friendly, think the room would prob fit 40-50. Food is really good and there’s a kids menu.Quote:

The Golf tavern has decent food and a private function room though I’m not sur about children. They can cater for 35-40 if I recall correctly.
The Granary has a couple of decent function rooms, not sure if children are allowed though.
