The one that got (walked) away
-
I wonder where we'd be now, had we got him instead of that other mug?

I liked the cut of his jib, a very good manager.
-
Up against our ex goalkeeper today who is the captain of Blackpool
-
Thought he was too good for us. **** him.

Getting to the League One play-off final proves he was too good for Hibs? Really?

Have a word ya mug. No disrespect to Lincoln City - but we are talking a club that has NEVER won a major honour - NEVER played in Europe. Their current ground capacity is just over 10,000 and their record all time home attendance is somewhere north of 23,000.
On every single metric you could think of Hibs are a much bigger club so your contention that Appleton's landing a job at Lincoln somehow demonstrates he's "too good" for Hibs is the most astonishing drivel.
-
They've lost the final. We don't need any help in that department.

From one of my friends a Leicester supporter
When we were in for him, although he’d left Leicester, he was still on the payroll on a large salary
We’ll never know if that had a bearing on him not getting offered the job

I follow Lincoln and go to Sincil Bank occasionally, a brilliantly run community club but you are right on every front.
Appleton walked into a very good set up, I'd say next season might define his time at the Imps. Nowhere near as popular as the previous management team who did a great job.

Will the Lincoln board now apologise?

Don't know but there should be a mass clear out now starting with the manager

Fine margins, but he's proud of the players and their efforts.

Had friends at Wembley yesterday and have been to Sincil Bank myself a couple of times. A great wee club, on their resources with clubs much bigger than them in that league, that will be considered a great season I'm sure. Don't think theyve been this high up since Graham Taylor late 70s.
Time will tell on Appleton, shame Adam Jackson was injured too.

They'll be thereabouts next season hopefully. Suspect Sunderland will be spending big, but as our comedy club neighbours have shown it's not how much you've got, but what you do with it.

Why do think that? Or is that a reference to some previous posts?

It was a poor attempt at sarcasm

Derek Adams got Morecambe promoted today in the Division Two play-off. Looking at wiki he seems to have done a decent job at all clubs he has managed, apart for his last season at Plymouth who sacked him.
So did we miss a trick when he left, or was he too busy falling out with everyone and not good enough for us?

Think we would have been better giving Adams the job rather than Calderwood at least he would have wanted to be here. Has done well in most clubs he has been at.

Lincoln twitter taking a bit of a kicking every time they tweet.

I don't remember Hibs trying particularly hard to keep Adams at ER once Ross County wanted him back, it was thanks very much and see ya!
Calderwood was awful, but by a absolute miracle he got us another 3 0 victory at Ibbrox, and also our first win at Inverness.

Maxwell named in that division's team of the year.
