Can only be a bad thing for us unfortunately.
League 1 clubs can’t offer European football though.
We just need to make sure we’re getting the money on offer there as well as providing that platform to showcase skills.
The obvious question to ask is what was the salary cap set at.Does anyone know as it would help the discussion no end if we all knew what we were talking about ?
I think it was a chunk lower than that. When it was announced it definitely felt like Hibs would end up being able to outspend any league 1 team.
This says £2.5M and £1.5M:

. Just googled salary cap in England and it was set at 2.5 million .This is a potential game changer as Hibs would have been able to offer a competitive salary compared to first division clubs. With the challenge being successful as other posters have said this ain’t good for Hibs.
Something might still be negotiated in the L1 and L2 in England. The reason it went to arbitration was that the PFA complained they weren't consulted adequately. The PFA claims it still supports EFLs efforts to protect the financial well being of the game and clubs at that level but wants a more direct role in the decision making. Something might be back on the table soon.
Don’t think it’ll make much difference to us. The money still isn’t great in league 1, never mind league 2, and majority of the bigger clubs will be cutting back majorly after ending up down there in a pandemic. Probably 3 or 4 big clubs in league 1, and if we reach group stage football next season our revenues should suitably increase and continue to increase year on year based on Ron’s plans.
