First Hibs match |
In the dim and distant past
I remember me and my dad travelling on a Forfar Athletic supporters bus to
Easter Road. Must have been late sixties/ early seventies. Me and my dad
were the only Hibbies on the bus. Sat at the front. Hibs won. All the bus
windaes got panned in! |
How long a member of London Hibs |
Aboot a week if Andrew has
received my cheque! |
How did you find out about London Hibs |
Knew of them from my days in
the Hibs Supporters Assoc. |
Favourite all time Hibs Player |
It's hard to pick an all
time favourite because anybody that has worn the jersey gets my respect.
Stanton's up there with O'Rourke, Cropley, Best, Duncan, Brownlie, Alan
Gordon, Schaedler, Rough, Herriot, and Gary Murray (he was our coach at
Duncraig Boys Club in Dundee just as he signed for Hibs). Oh and Stevie
Cowan. |
Most memorable Game |
I've seen Hibs win League
Cups, Dryburgh Cups, Tennents Sixes, EoS Shields, BP Youth Cup but see
'Best Hibs Goal' for my most memorable game... |
How often do you get to games |
Not often enough. I was up
at the semi last season and the re-arranged game at Perth but I'm lucky if
I see a couple of games a season. |
When did you leave Scotland? (If
applicable) |
1994 - left Edinburgh for
murky lights of Manchester |
Why do you live in the South? |
'Gotta follow the money....' |
Favourite English team |
Leeds United although I've
got a soft spot for Man City as well |
Lowest moment following Hibs? |
Ever the optimist, following
Hibs means never having a low moment although I remember once wondering
what it was all about as we were getting beat from Airdrie in December,
the Broomfield ash terracing with pish green slush puppy freezing my
feet......why? |
Best Hibs goal? |
Followed Hibs home and away
for ten years and never missed a game...emigrating to Manchester on the
Monday my last game was the Derby at Tynie. They were on their unbeaten
streak when up pops Geebsy no more than fifteen yards from where I'm
sitting in their new 'stand'to pop the ba' in the back o' the net. I was
the last Hibby to leave Tynie that day wi' all the stewards wondering why
I was greeting like a bairn! MARVELLOUS!!! |
What is the best thing about being a
Hibby? |
Just being a Hibby is good
enough for me! |
Proudest moment following Hibs? |
Loads of them...being
chairman of Edinburgh West HSC....Anderlecht....skiving off work to be in
the Hibs adverts for the share issue....but the one that stands oot most
is actually playing at Easter Road for Edinburgh West. |
How did you become a Hibby? |
Coming from the sticks I
cannae claim that Hibs are my local team! My Dad wanted to support someday
different in his time so plumped for Hibs. The rest is history.... |
