Does anyone know how long these are going to go on for? Can't seem to find any info on this... only that they've started and it's for the trams!
Genuine match programme from the weekend :greengrin
I've had it with this mad organisation, with their customer services in asia, their engineers in england (but somehow separate when it suits), their sales in who knows, and their willingness to spend money not on improving the service but on getting folk to cold-call touting for business.
The universe is infinite (and possibly expanding*). Infinity is a concept that is not covered by materialism (the sensory world) as you cannot see, hear, touch, smell, taste, weigh or measure infinity. Therefore there must more to the universe than the material level that we see in front of us....
Vote for Kelvingrove and thwart these sassenach potters :agree:
Arrested for asking a policeman for his badge number
The Guardian has obtained this police footage of Emily Apple and Val Swain being arrested by surveillance officers after asking for their badge numbers at the Kingsnorth climate camp last year. The two women speak to Paul Lewis...
Quite an interesting report here, with some widely differing views on the same behaviours.
Begs the question: given that many people today no longer look to the Bible for their moral compass, what, if anything, do they use instead?
With the recent report that 'organic food 'has no health benefits' - led, in a nice twist of fate, by a person called Dr. Dangour :greengrin - I thought it might be of interest to share what I've been reading about the late Japanese microbiologist-turned-'natural farmer', Masanobu ***uoka.
Having just read her magnificent memorial to Harry Patch and that generation now passed, I thought I'd have a look at some more of Carol Ann Duffy's writing. I've never really been particularly interested in poetry, but what I've seen so far is excellent. Below is her first piece as poet laureate,...
Kept this quiet at the time, didn't they?
Danish reporter Steffen Jensen visited Gaza day before yesterday to see how bad things are, given that the entire world is in an uproar over the humanitarian crisis there.
Link is in Danish but includes pictures. Translation below.
Microsoft have one for their store so I'm guessing it costs 50p a minute or so. Anyone seen these before?
Recently received this interesting, but rather long (54 mins), video concerning several peculiarities about the current swine flu "pandemic" and vaccine. All information has been published - discreetly - in the mainstream media and specialist medical press but I hadn't heard about most of it until...
Thought I'd share this interesting video on the consumerist system.
Too simplified? Green propaganda? Collective insanity?
A story from last August but nice to have some good news in these dark days.

AS debate rages in Britain about the relative benefits of organic food,
There's only two parties that can win in my constituency: Liberal Democrat or Conservative.
Which one should I vote for and why?
Here's the story:
Was just going to check out their policies as well... :boo hoo:
Last time I voted, my voting slip had a serial number on it that matched up with a counterfoil that had my name and address on it. Is this still the case today?

What is that mega-bright "star" currently in the southern sky, a few degrees to east? It's much brighter than the normal stars. Is it the space station??
How is that possible?
Anyone else been watching this?
On the one hand I find it fascinating to see the deployment in Afghanistan "from the inside"; on the other, I'm shocked at the apparently mindless way these guys are being used. I have no military training whatsoever but, really, is there no alternative to...
For five years??
Short notice, I know, but any chance of some pithy bullet points on the undisputed pros and cons of Yes/No?
Best presentation gets my vote. Thank you.

The new telephone 'scam' has arrived.
I received a call from a 'representative' of BT, informing me that he was disconnecting me because of an unpaid bill. He demanded payment immediately of £31.00, or it would be £118.00 to re-connect at a later date.
The guy wasn't even...

That's according to the calendar Old Style, of course.
Just thought you all might like to know.
Did anyone else see that program on BBC2 last night?
It was about a DVD that's going the rounds alleging all sorts of conspiracies surrounding the London bombings.
The DVD purports to have been made by an Islamist called Muad Dib (IIRC) but in fact was made by an Englishman named John Hill...
Interesting order of stories on the BBC Scottish News tonight.
A Scots Guardsman murdered in Paisley and a Glasgow laddie killed in that chopper crash, both dutifully reported AFTER 4-5 minutes on the tragic situation of Glasgow Rangers Football Club. That must be very comforting for their...

Just watched a very fine documentary on 'Yesterday' - "Who Betrayed the Bomber Boys?" narrated by Stephen Fry, dealing with the RAF Bomber offensive throughout WW2. It was on earlier in the year, but I missed it then. Glad I caught it this time around.

I see Lauren Bacall died - "major stroke". 89 years of age.
One of the last survivors of the great age of Hollywood.
"You know how to whistle, don't you, Steve? You just put your lips together and... blow."
I've just had a call from a very unpleasant individual calling himself Brian Thomson to tell me that due to arrears on my account he was about to cut my phone and broadband off for up to 72 hours after I settled the account.
He was very helpful - I could pay the arrears by Credit or Debit card...
