My wife and I were sitting at a table in a beer garden yesterday. There were still quite a few tables free a couple in the shade but 2 or 3 the same as ours. A couple in their probably 60s decided to sit at end of our table as in the sun didn't ask if OK or ask if anyone else was sitting there...
I've just had a ton of coal stolen which I was storing at a former railway sidings. Unbelievable. The authorities have been advised and we are going through the security videos just now.
Is anyone aware of the law when it comes to items abandoned or left behind when a company gets liquidated? I live near a former railway sidings and yard which has laid untouched in any capacity for nearly a decade. There looks like there are several tons of coal there, I've established that the...
Sometimes a combination of two foods cannot be beaten. Just had a fish supper that meets every need! Thick haddock, hard batter outside but yielding inside. Chips that are perfectly cooked, with brown sauce and salt. Brilliant!
I've got some German friends coming over to Edinburgh for the marathon next week and one of them wants to try haggis. They're staying at Seaton Sands and I was wondering if anyone knows a decent place to eat haggis?
Hot or a pain in the Bonnington Toll?
Film is finally out this week. Anyone else excited about seeing it? Going on Friday after work, taking my son although I think I’m more excited than him. Just the standard 2D screening although if it’s good might also go to a 3D showing. I’m also interested how much of Edinburgh is going to...
It's incredible how this has caused so much disagreement. A bit like the Gold/White or Blue/Black dress. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-trending-44136799 It's incredible. Without telling my wife what I hear, I played the clip to her. She hears the opposite to me.
BBC radio 6 live in Belfast. The breeders on now, Manics, Beck & Orbital still to come.
Theres been literally thousands of remixes of original songs, some have ended up being more successful than the original. Whats everyone’s favourite. I’ll start with an obvious one in run dmc https://youtu.be/TLGWQfK-6DY its not my favourite remix, but it’s probably one of the most...
PC Alfiembra suggested we need a thread for this subject alone so here it is. I may as well kick off ...... Who's/Whose going next?
Not only one of the most unexpected returns of the year, but they've just put out a new album called "Daphne & Celeste Save The World" and apart from a couple of tracks it's genuinely very, very good. They've gone semi-serious and hired in the producer Max Tundra and it's legitimately worth a...
Where is good to go in Edinburgh for food? Tired of going to places like Nando’s, F&B’s, TGI’s etc... Thanks :-)
Was there a thread about this already? I thought there was but I can't find it. Maybe I imagined it. Anyway, Liz Kershaw is getting folk to tell her about songs they sand the wrong words to and a guy just phoned in with the best I've heard for a while. He thought Feargal Sharkey sang "A...
Anyone gone through Dublin to US? Customs preclearance on this side sounds great (especially after the hideous queus6 at Atlanta last year)
Without mentioning what was being promoted, I shouldn't have had to say...
“The Fear” is a new indie and soul night, on next Saturday May 26th at Brig Below at bottom of Leith Walk. We play indie, Motown, 60s psych stuff, Northern Soul, Mod.... an eclectic mix! All on vinyl. Brig Below is the new venue in basement of Bar Brig. Holds about 100 and is doing its...
I have booked a holiday through OntheBeach which is flying with Ryanair. The balance has been paid and we are looking forward to it. Will I still be asked for extra money for us to sit together when I check in for the flight ? I know that this happens (to me) on single flights I have booked...
My son is getting group lessons at his school and it made me remember my old electric acoustic guitar in the garage that hadn't been played for about 17 years. We used to go down to original banana row back in the day and thrash about (very badly!) Anyway, I decided to get it repaired again and...
To be read in a weegie voice... Sellic fan took no well at the recent derby..nurse says to him Have you seen a surgeon? Sellic fan says I didn't see the second yin 😂😂😂
Since just about everything we do these days requires a password or a pin number, maybe you are like me and are suffering from password overload. Many of the things I need to access require me to change the password on a regular basis and won't allow me to re-use a previous one, so I am constantly...
I was in pub with wife and noticed person watching other playing slots. I am sure there is an actual word for this my wife thinks lurking but it's not that. It defo ends in ING
Anyone running this? Just signed up this week, my current fitness equals zero. I trained semi-professionally from 1995-2014 until I retired. I literally have not trained since my last official training session and match in May 2014. I'm using the simple beginners marathon training schedule...
I know true followers of the fall will dismiss me as a Johnny come lately, but I’m loving this **** and in in true Mark E Smith style I couldn’t give a **** what any of you think :greengrin https://youtu.be/AbMG1v7qDqs
Has anyone ever listened to this on the Jeremy Vine show? Some eccentric old Welsh guy called Terry comes on and proceeds to do some gardening whilst talking away describing what he’s doing. It’s the best thing on the radio. It must be what it was like before TVs came along.
I love my music, but I constantly find myself hating everything that everyone I know likes. Its not good but I love this one https://youtu.be/4lMC4-rFsCE<a href="https://youtu.be/4lMC4-rFsCE">
Posting videos of songs you listen to are cut then paste into the insert video icon if anybody wants to post anyway. I love all kinds of music of any era and type.
Why do some guys insist on going to the toilet for a Jarkko Wiss, using a cubicle, but not shutting the bloody door! Does it excite you to think of someone not paying attention and walking into the back of you with your pork truncheon in your hand? Do you enjoy awkward exchanges with other...
I never drink the last part of a cup of tea. This habit stems from pre-teabag days. I still do it even though the reason for doing it is gone. Old habits die hard.
Anyone have recommendations for hotel accommodation in New York. I've recently booked flights as they were coming in OKish (£330 per skull direct) but then realised it's such a big place and I know literally nothing about the Big Apple. We're going for our anniversary, from a Thursday to Sunday...
Anyone got this (not with the set top box)? Is it any good?
1600 Mark 2 Ford Cortina
A lot of lazilly-remixed 33 cms were served up to us gullible young fools in the early to mid 80s. Were there any good ones that were worth the extra pound or so? Obviously Blue Monday, so that’s off the list. One Great Thing by Big Country was quite good. Others?
http://www.nme.com/news/music/avicii-dead-at-28-2298210 What a shame. Bit of a game changer when it came to making dance music crossover into the mainstream. RIP
So especially after todays epic, what drink have you got on the go? I'm on a glass of South African Pinotage. Its not bad.
sad, RIP wee man :( http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-43853755 Verne Troyer, who is best known for playing Mini-Me in the Austin Powers films, has died at the age of 49.
I know it's a challenge, but what's your one favourite Bowie song? I'm listening to Aladdin Sane right now and it's brilliant, but one song is the task.
This should be fun. (That's an observation on this thread, but doubles nicely as an answer to it)
