So..., just bought my daughter her first car from Arnold Clark. Drove it away at 2 o'clock today and everything great. She drove about for a few hours to get used to it and then parked it up. Went out at 8 o'clock to go celebrate her getting her car and for wife's birthday and the thing is totally...
Been reading a bits and pieces about the leaked yellow'something report over the last couple of days. Today at work I got a look at my employer's (a local authority) no deal Brexit risk analysis.

Where would be the best place to sell a Platinum and Diamond ring?
It was valued a few years ago at around 8-9k but we are not sure where would be the best place to take it for a honest price.
Should we expect a price close to the valuation if selling to a jeweller .
Can anyone recommend...
At the request of Alfiembra, here's the Driving Pet Peeve thread for frustrated motorists.
So, to kick it off.......
When you are just about to get into your car in a car park some Dumbo decides to draw in tight alongside your driver's door despite there being empty spaces everywhere around....
Has anybody been to one of the gigs this summer?
I have tickets for Madness, reading the EEN it appears that these only allow me access to the gardens, with no guarantee that I will actually see the band on stage.
I was hoping somebody could tell me this is not true. Because, by the sound of...
Not seen a thread like this for a while, so what gigs are people going to in the near future?

I start by saying something
say:What is life
And then the next poster makes an acroynym out of last word of my sentence in response
say:Life is for elephants (but hopefully better:greengrin)

I want to start creating music/ film quizzes, but rather than just have the usual questions, I'd like to be able to play clips of intros, dialogue etc.
Can anyone recommend any software available, free or inexpensive, that would allow me to record and edit from Spotify/ YouTube/ DVDs etc?
Following on from the Beautiful Tracks thread, I thought of a few classical pieces that would fit the bill, but that thread went in a different direction, and anyway classical music is such a broad category I think it deserves a thread of its own. So, if you have a favourite classical tune or...
Being a semi old f@rt I never thought I would become as addicted to You Tube as I have and I probably spend more time watching it than I do the telly these days.
Being a bit of a petrol head I love any sort of motorbike and car repair or build projects, but my favourite has to be the Tally Ho...
Been watching quite a lot of these recently and had my eyes opened re what is actually going on in the world. Here's a few that I've watched and consider to have done what I mention above.... Blackfish- about The capture of Orca's, sold onto Seaworld and the dramatic consequences thereafter....
always had a soft spot for, I guess what you would call educational(?), jokes. Jokes to do with maths and the likes.
best two I've heard recently
My dad once told me i had a lot of potential, right before he pushed me off the balcony.
(not so much a joke, but I like it)
Apologies if there is a thread on this topic.
If you could go back in time and go to a gig, which one would you chose, and why?

Anyone on here still playing? If so, how are you getting on?
(fully aware I'll be getting pelters here 😂)
Amarone in George Street was the venue for my niece's graduation dinner. I wasn't overly impressed, then again I never really expected to be if I'm honest. Lows were;
Nine out of the ten mains being served together, the tenth person was told "we haven't forgot you,it's just not ready yet" It...
I want to compile a playlist if songs about, or majorly featuring, Edinburgh.
So far I've got 3:
Edinburgh Man by The Fall
Edinburgh by The Lake Poets
Streets of Edinburgh by the twins.
My wife and I are having a long weekend in Edinburgh over the 13th-15th of July (rare babysitting!).
I'm in Edinburgh often enough with work, and have my "usual" haunts but I was wondering if the expertise of hibs.net might provide some recommendations on:
i) a nice restaurant somewhere...
Rekorderlig Passion Fruit Cider.
Stuff of genius.
anyone have any other recomendations?
It does my head in when I see folk on other folk's shoulders.
I'm watching Glastonbury on catch-up and I feel angry watching the selfish ba***rds.
I don't know how I'd react if I'd paid £250 for a ticket and some cntu jumped on another cntu's shoulders and blocked my view.
I just realised...
Iím on holiday in turkey and thereís a guy that goes around in roller skates taking orders for drinks and handing out ice lollies. I could easygo and order this myself, but it makes me happy when the guy comes round in his roller skates.
What are the little things in life that make you happy.
Heading to Ibiza shortly and was wondering if anyone had driven there before?
I've never driven abroad before so was wondering what the roads/drivers are like? Also, are the rental companies ok or pretty shady (depending on who you use).
I sometimes watch Salvage Hunters on quest. For some reason I feel this rage build up when the trevento wine advert comes on at the start and ad breaks. A group of ****y blokes lauding each other for the challenges they faced in their hobbies(?).
Doesn't make me drink the wine as much as put a...
I've seen a lot of posters trying to be comedic or making points by using the FTFY device to alter a post they're quoting and its meaning.
For anyone who doesn't know, FTFY stands for "Fixed That For You".
There are a lot of clever and funny people on hibs.net so I thought it might be fun to...
Ok, I'm being a bit dramatic with the title of this thread, but I recently experienced, for the first time in my life, a moment where I was concerned I might die.
I remember there was a thread on here about "Worst Pain Experienced" or similar, which I found darkly fascinating, so I was wondering...
Obviously the muppet show is the daddy
So here's a question.
I'm developing a Football Tactics board game (2 player version - playing 1 vs 1) and I'd like to do some testing in a few weeks time once I get the prototype printed (most likely early August). Just wondering if there are any board game players here and if anyone is...
Going there for a week next summer. Anybody been? Any advice on buying tickets/hotels? Where to eat? would be appreciated. Going with Mrs and 2 kids aged 8 and 11.
We got the Virgin Train from Glasgow to Carlisle yesterday, I think I might have had excessively high expectations as I generally like Virgin products but I have to say it was brutal. Filthy, cramped, unhelpful staff. Major disappointment.
Can anybody tell me how long there was a pub/restaurant on this site?
